The latest Mercedes AMG GT S to come out of RENNtech’s workshop equipped with the R1 power kit is this beauty which, in addition to the power boost, has also gotten a nice little visual tweak. Finished in Brilliant Blue Metallic, this RENNtech AMG GT is for us the finest one they have done yet.

Let’s start with the power kit and see what sort of numbers the R1 package brings to the party. After all, most GT owners these days might feel a bit underpowered when facing a Ferrari guy in his 670 hp 488 GTB. RENNtech AMG GT with the R1 package gets the tuner’s own ECU program plus a custom exhaust system featuring downpipes with 200 cell catalytic converters, BOV Blow-Off Valve adapters, and high performance air filters.

These are rather profound changes and it comes as no surprise that they result in a fairly decent upgrade to 611 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque. It also explains why for this particular RENNtech AMG GT they went to the trouble of adding a stylish aero kit. It’s not a substantial one and only includes three carbon fiber parts – front splitter, side rocker panels, and rear diffuser – but the effect they have on the overall looks of the car is pretty awesome.
