Mazda is planning to kick off 2017 with a new special edition of the best-selling roadster. The Mazda MX-5 Arctic will hit the showrooms in February bringing Blue Reflex Metallic paint, high intensity silver wing mirrors and windscreen surround, plus some special goodies as well as more equipment for the interior, all for £20,995.

That makes the 2017 Mazda MX-5 Arctic Special Edition fairly good value, considering they are only making 400 copies of the thing. They will all be based on the 1.5-litre 131ps SE-L Nav model and besides what was mentioned above they feature 16-inch Silver alloy wheels and silver headrest hoops, silver cup holder rings and chrome scuff plates.

In terms of equipment Mazda MX-5 Arctic buyers will enjoy, besides everything they get with the standard SE-L Nav trim, heated leather seats, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers and rear parking sensors. As with any special edition, the car also comes with a numbered limited edition badge on the dashboard.

Commenting on the launch of the new MX-5 Arctic, Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda Motors UK said “We are delighted to offer another special version of the award-winning MX-5 convertible; we’ve had a long history of producing distinctive limited edition MX-5s that allow customers to drive a sports car with stand-out looks and enhanced standard equipment. The new MX-5 Arctic’s exclusive looks and great value mean it’s sure to be a popular choice when it arrives in dealerships early next year”.
