Granted, the 911’s range is already complicated enough and the chances of you walking away from the showroom with the right model are pretty low. But if you do your research and go in there knowing what’s on offer and what you want, you can end up with a car for life. We’ve done that research, and for us it’s the latest Porsche 991 GTS. This thing is candy.

The fact that Porsche 991 GTS comes with more power and better handling characteristic than regular Carreras aside, we find this model particularly enchanting for the way it looks. The GTS treatment adds to the already sexy looks of the 911 a new Sport Design front end with a spoiler lip painted in black, new rear spoiler and wide C4 rear fenders, tinted tail lights, rear lid grill strips with a satin black finish and tailpipes in high-gloss black, plus exclusive mirror caps and 20 inch wheels as well as GTS logos. And the net result of all this is one beautiful, elegant, magnificent sports car.

In terms of mechanical features, the 2018 Porsche 991 GTS models – available in Carrera and Carrera 4 variants and in Coupe, Convertible, and Targa guises – feature a 3.0-liter flat-six cylinder with larger turbochargers good for 450 horsepower and 405 lb.-ft. of torque. Standard are a seven-speed manual gearbox, although you really should get the optional PDK, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Sport Chrono Package including new Porsche Track Precision App, sport seats, leather and Alcantara, GT Sport steering wheel, and brushed aluminum interior trim anodized with a black finish.
