The New, New Top Gear Looks Promising

As you may know from our previous post, the BBC did not throw in the towel after the debacle of Chris Evans’ new Top Gear. Instead they trimmed down the team, went back to the drawing board, and devised a program which – judging by the teaser videos they have released so far – is a pretty dope motoring show. Welcome to the new, new Top Gear!

Hitting British airwaves, and tons of torrent sites, beginning on March 5, the new Top Gear reverts back to the tried and test three-presenter format. They include the world’s most beloved motoring journalist Chris Harris, actor and gearhead Matt LeBlanc, and the still relatively unknown Rory Reid who seems to be on his way to become the new Richard Hammond. Here’s an extended trailer showcasing some of the motoring goodness coming your way next month:

People are still hating on the BBC and Top Gear for ruining the old show by sacking Jeremy Clarkson. But it’s time to let that go and enjoy the new program, especially if you are into cars. We love the old boys and what they have done with Grand Tour, but to be brutally honest the pointless shenanigans they get up to – like that godawful military episode – are no longer fun to watch. We’d rather watch Chris Harris tame a Ferrari FXX K than see Jeremy fall over for the billionth time.
