Mercedes-Benz is stepping up its concept sedan game these days. Following the release of the AMG GT four-door concept Geneva and New York, they took to 2017 Shanghai Motor Show to reveal the Mercedes-Benz Concept A Sedan, a compact four-door sedan inspired by the “Aesthetics A” sculpture.

Mercedes-Benz Concept A Sedan is a lot more than a show car though. The concept showcases the latest evolution of Mercedes design language as regards compact vehicles. That means the design of the S Sedan will invariably affect the look of the next A, CLA, GLA, and other compact classes they produce.

And the future is crease-less, according to Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Daimler AG. “Our Concept A Sedan shows that the time of creases is over”, say he. “With its perfect proportions and a sensual treatment of surfaces with reduced lines, it is the next milestone of Sensual Purity and has the potential to introduce a new design era.”

You may not like the look of the Mercedes-Benz Concept A Sedan on the whole, but you can’t deny it has some cool little details anyone would be glad to see in future production model. The compact sedan features a Panamricana grille like the AMG GT and exclusive 20?inch wheels. The headlamps with their eyebrows as a typical feature of the brand as well as the striking grid structure on the inside guarantee a confident look and a simultaneously high recognition value.
