With Tesla dominating the market for high-end electric sedans and SUVs, other companies are scrambling to beat The Musk to the punch in other segments such as commercial vehicles. The Workhorse W-15 is an attempt by an american firm of the same name to take the pickup market by (electric) storm.
And they seem to have though it through pretty well. Workhorse W-15 Electric Pickup Truckhas pretty decent specs and they have even a plan in place to start production in early 2018. Just about the only thing one may not feel so sure about regarding this whole thing is the way the W-15 looks, which is, we imagine, what people back in the 60s would have drawn if you asked them about the pickups the future.

Still, Workhorse W-15 Electric Pickup Truck has a lot going for it, so unsavory looks may not hinder its success. The range-extender system powering this truck has a total output of 460 horsepower which is enough to catapult it – without any cargo, we reckon – from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds. The all electric range is 80 miles, and you get an extra 310 miles per every tank of fuel that feeds the range-extender engine, which, by the way, averages 32 highway, 28 city.
