With the sales number of the previous generations in mind, Nissan is banking hard on the success of the new Nissan X-Trail, which they claim to be the world’s best-selling SUV. That is why they skimped nothing in the development of the new model and made sure it has fresh exterior design, greater cabin refinement, innovative new technology and more practicality.

Design-wise, the 2018 Nissan X-Trail benefits form a wider ‘V-motion’ grille, with a new bumper with gloss black accents. There is also revised headlamp clusters and boomerang-design LED daytime lights, revised rear bumper, new 17 and 18-inch wheel designs plus a chrome side moulding across the base of the two doors on range-topping Tekna grade.All i all, there is no radical changes, only nip and tuck enhancements.

As for the interior, besides the higher quality materials Nissan X-Trail comes with a D-shaped steering wheel, gloss black finish on the air vents, new tan and black two-tone leather interior (optional), heated seats for front and rear, and eight-speaker BOSE Premium audio system (Tekna model). Nissan’s innovative Luggage Board System is standard on all trims.

In terms of powertrain the 2018 X-Trail features three efficient engines including a 2.0-litre 177PS diesel, a 1.6 130PS diesel, and a 1.6 163PS petrol. Different configurations include six-speed manual or CVT XTronic automatic transmissions, 2WD or 4WD and five or seven seats.
