This sounds like a pretty unbeatable combination: The great Walter Rohrl, the beautiful Ascari race track, and the not-so-beautiful but pretty amazing Porsche Panamera GTS.

Walter Rohrl, for those of you who might not know, is a driving God. The man’s a legend. To realize what he can do just go to youtube and watch his old rally clips, then you get the picture. These days he is Porsche ace test driver and helps developing the most high performance models. It’s a privilege watching him taking the GTS round the Ascari rack.

Porsche Panamera GTS is the sportiest of all Panamera models, featuring a modified 4.8-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, delivering 430 hp (316 kW) at 6,700 rpm, trumping the engine in its Panamera S/4S sister models by 30 hp (22 kW). The maximum torque also increased by comparison, from 500 Nm to 520 Nm. The way in which at the push of a button the Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) transmits the engine output to the all-wheel drive (PTM) -thanks to the Sport Chrono package featured as standard without interruption to the power flow -is especially dynamic.

It also has slightly different looks, sportier interior, uprated suspension and brakes.

The Boxster R is a fictional car. Porsche does not have such model in its range. But they should.

I mean just look at it. It’s a rendering by Milanno based on the new 981 Boxster, and it speculates what an R-badged Boxster would be like. Porsche makes a Cayman R, so why not a Boxster.

What Milanno thinks the R should have includes Adjusted front bumper with enlarged bottom trim and redesigned intakes, Added Porsche side decals, Performance wheels tinted in black, Mirrors tinted in matte black, Integrated Porsche sport seats, Redesigned side intakes, and Added rear spoiler.

The ingredients seem spot on for a sportier version of the popular roadster. It would be based on the Boxster S, obviously, and in our opinion it could do with a few more horses than the base car’s 315hp. We’re thinking maybe 350.

So there you go Porsche. The internet did the design and engineering for you! You just have to make it happen.

Edo Competition, the German tuner of high-end cars, has made a Porsche Panamera turbo S with 700hp.

The Panamera is not a looker, and Edo’s treatment of front and rear spoilers, headlight mascara, and carbon fiber wheels don’t really help things for the better. So if you want a stylish car, forget about it.

But if your senses get tickled with the idea of a four-door luxury saloon that goes from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds, then your are going to love this.

Edo has fitted the Panamera Turbo S 4.8 liter V8 with some meatier turbochargers, remapped ECU and high-flow exhausts, so it now develops a colossal 700hp and 880 Nm of torque. Those figures are 150hp and 130Nm more than the standard car.

Another byproduct of that massive power, besides the blistering acceleration, is the astonishing top speed of 340km/h. If only the car looked a bit nicer….

So BMW is not the only car maker working on tri-turbo engines, Porsche is also developing a similar system.

But BMW can be proud of the fact that they’re the first to launch a car with such three turbocharger with the new M Performance Automobiles models. Porsche will probably be the next introducing the tri-turbo in the upsoming 911 Turbo.

There’s nothing wrong with the curretn twin-turbo system, but adding a third one will not only make the system more powerful, it also helps with the acceleration and fuel economy. A small turbo will be located close to the engine for more low rpm grunt to support the output of the two larger ones.

The Porsche 991 Turbo is expected to have around 525hp, the same as today’s Turbo S. The new tri-turbo system will also be used in the next GT2 and GT2 RS models.

Kahn Design announced a new wide track styling kit for the Porsche Panamera, and it’s simply one of the finest we’ve ever seen.

Let’s cut to the chase. This kit consists of wide vented front and rear wheel arches with an integrated rear air dam, lower boot wing, Kahn lowered sports suspension system, billet aluminum side vents, privacy tinted glass, red brake calipers and tinted rear lamps.

This particular car is also sporting A. Kahn’s £460,000 F1 number plate, but you won’t get that!

What you do get is a new stainless steel quad exhaust system with cross hair exhaust feature to enhance the Pana’s driving sensation, regardless of your engine choice.

The feature we slightly dislike is the new RS600 22-inch wheels, which are a bit too busy. Normal RS wheels look classier and cooler. We do like the color though, that matt finish is gangsta.

As for the interior, while it’s bespoke to the individuals, Kahn’s regular treatment for the Panamera includes claret quilted and perforated leather with the speedo and rev counter facia in red and cream, with options like satellite navigation, bi-xenon headlamps, front and rear park assist, Porsche pdk including auto start/stop function, sport chrono plus package, power lift tailgate, heated front seats and iPod connectivity.

You can have a Kahn Panamera just like this right now for £86,875.

We are really starting to dig this Drive Channel videos, especially ones with Chris Harris in them. He just posted a new video of him taking one of his most favorite cars, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0, for one last spin before winter fully takes over.

Because of the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres on the 4.0, which Chris refers to by a technical term we can’t mention here, you can’t really drive the car in snow, or even in the wet, without wrecking it.

But Chris wants to enjoy this car, the one he says is rapidly bankrupting him! He just wants to drive the car for the fun of it, and that’s what makes a petrolhead.

He also reveals some interesting facts about the car along the way, like how that rear spoiler is perfect to serve your lunch on.

Buckle up, it’s a good one:

It probably didn’t take too much imagination, since the Cayman is just a Boxster with a roof. But as always, Wild Speed’s rendering skills are truly fantastic.

The new Cayman will also be getting Boxster’s engines, which include a 265hp 2.7 liter and a 315hp 3.4 liter flat-six. The Cayman is not the prettiest sports coupe you can buy, but it certainly is one of the best to drive.

But truth be told, it’s not really a car. It’s a gap-filler, a marketing tool to sit between the Boxster and the 911, drive the sales volume up a bit. Porsche hasn’t really put much effort in making it as good as it could be, and that’s a shame.

Porsche released a nostalgic promotional video for the new 991, reflecting on the car’s rich history as the brand’s identity. The 911 has retained its distinctive looks from the very first model born in 1963, and although it’s not the prettiest car in the world, it certainly is one of the coolest because of its character. The design has hardly changed and that’s good, but fortunately the technology has moved. The new 991 is possibly the most advanced sports car in the world right now.

The latest generation of Porsche Cayenne has only been around for a few years, but it proved so popular it recently passed 100,000 production number.

This record is also a major production milestone for Porsche’s state of the art Leipzig plant. This is also where Porsche produces the very successful Panamera luxury saloon, approximately 70,000 units of which have now rolled off the production line.

The 100,000th Cayenne, destined for Brazil, is a “pure white” with a V8 engine. The Cayenne is being sold in more than 124 markets in currently five model variants spanning a power range from 180 kW (245 hp) to 368 kW (500 hp) and an average fuel consumption ranging from 7.2 to 11.5 litres per 100 kilometres.

Production of this generation Cayenne began in 2009. The first-gen Cayenne, born in 2002, sold over 360,000 units in its lifespan.

“Because of the consistently high demand for the Cayenne and Panamera we will be introducing a third production shift in Leipzig at the end of January. With the new production sequence, 500 vehicles on average will be produced each day,” Leimgruber adds. The introduction of a three shift operation is only one of many challenges in the near future. Building work for a major expansion of the plant is currently underway. A paint shop and body assembly line for an entirely new model line that will start to come off the Leipzig production line from the end of 2013 onward are among the facilities being built on a 17 hectare site. Porsche is investing a total of 500 million euro in the production site in Saxony for assembly of the Cajun, creating more than 1,000 new jobs.

As always, its an strictly visual kit with no performance or chassis upgrade. The body kits is pretty heavy, and includes a revised front fascia that features a cool new design and has bigger air intakes and a new grille over the standard Panamera.

On the sides you get wide sills and tinted windows to complement smoked lights, and then at the back a neat tail spoiler, new air vents, rear diffuser and Porsche Turbo-style tailpipes.

The car also features five double-spoke design rims finished in black with light outer lip, which have contributed greatly to its swell style. The Black Bison Panamera is such a stunner.

Last year, and even before that, we were inundated with reports about an entry-level, baby Porsche that would reinvent the sports car. Now news emerged that Porsche has ditched the plan.

The decision to kill the baby roadster is in accordance to VW’s decision to put the mid-engine Bluesport concept on hold. It’s been in the pipeline for many years, and all the engineering work for a production model had been done. But VW’s business department couldn’t justify that concept.

That’s what stopped Porsche going any further into developing the sports car. First of all, the Bluesport was supposed to be the donor car for it, and second, there would be no market for it. Porsche says the current generation won’t appreciate the concept of a small, efficient, two-seater roadster.

They do have a point. The current generation prefers hot hatches and crossovers. People now don’t want driving fun. They want space for their friends, and iPod connectivity. A two-seater sports car is deemed unsociable and pointless.

Now, rumor has it that Audi and Porsche may join forces to develop such a car, but even if they do, it’ll be at least five years away.

SpeedART was one of the first tuners to announced a kit for the new Porsche 991. And now they’re giving us a sneak peek and announce the finished product’s Geneva Motor Show debut.

The SP91-R is a thorough package including body kit, power upgrade, interior, wheels, suspension and exhausts.

The highlights of the exterior include a CS rear wing and modular 21″ LSC-forged wheels, plus the new endpipes, which belong to the optional Titanium sport exhaust systems. The 991 also gets sport-catalysts and manifolds as well as ECU upgrades for an additional 25hp and 20Nm.

SppedART offers both sport suspension and airlift system for the new Porsche to maintain its practicality. And as for the interior, you get alcantara and leather upholstery, sport steering wheel with F1 paddle shifters, and probably some carbon fiber trimming.

More on SpeedART’s 991 closer to 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

The new Porsche Boxster isn’t due until April, but already Porsche has added it to its online configurator.

So you have enough time playing with all the options and colors and what have you, coming up with the Boxster of your dreams!

Visual features all depend on your personal preference and taste. But we can give you one piece of advise on the engines: make sure you pick the Boxster S with the 3.4 liter engine. The normal model might be few grand cheaper, but with a 2.7 liter and 265 hp it’s not very desirable. The S has 315 hp and does 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds. That’s more like it.

Prices and options are all available here: Porsche Boxster Configurator

Matt Farah this time gets behind the wheel of a heavily tuned Porsche 997 Turbo S, not for the Smoking Tire, but the new Drive channel. Matt is apparently in charge of the TUNED section. This special 997 Turbo S is a creation of BBi Autosport in Huntington Beach, CA and it’s got no less than 650hp. That makes it a formidable weapon for track days. What we liked about it is the amazing exhaust noise which sounds like a full on racing car.
