An AMS-tuned Nissan GTR Alpha 12 has set a new world record for the fastest R35 GT-R at 201 Texas Mile by hitting 216.9 mph or very nearly 350 km/h. This monster has 1115 PS output thanks to the massive turbochargers AMS Performance has bolted to its V6 engine. This is not a one-off purpose-built show car. The record setting car is in fact a privately owned GTR that can be used everyday as a normal car! And it can do 217 without breaking a sweat. Incredible.

Not long after their frankly astonishing 9-second quarter mile record, AMS Performance took the Alpha12 Nissan GTR R35 to the drag strips again. And this time set a mind-boggling  record of 8.975@169.49 mph. They’ve also improved the 60-130 time by setting 3.34 seconds. They keep improving this 1,300+ car, so don’t think for a minute it’s the best it can do. Who knew the GTR has so much potential! The extraordinary thing is AMS says the car still drives like a normal GTR and can be used every day.

AMS Performance set a new world record with their updated Nissan GTR Alpha 12, clocking 9.052 seconds ET @166.66 mph. This simply staggering record is the result of 1,300 whp at 35 psi of boost. Amazing, but then the GTR itself is an awesome car to begin with! Only two days ago you saw on Top Gear how it humiliated Jaguar XKR-S with its launch control. The standard car has only 500 hp and did that. We don’t particularly like the GTR, but we have to say, the performance is mind-boggling.

To prove capabilities of their 850 hp Nissan GT-R, AMS Performance has come up with a simple test: Quarter mile drag! Powered by the SR850 package, this GT-R develops 365 hp more than the already powerful standard car. The result is plain to see, it ran the quarter mile in 9.89 seconds while doing 145.98 mph! And remember, it’s not a purpose-built dragster, it still got all the luxury stuff inside.

Now this is what we call proper tuning! AMS Performance took a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX and made an absolute monster out of it! Literally everything is modified in this car, although all those changes have made it more suitable for Playstation than real life, but we like it because of its insanity! The car is powered by a 2.27 liter engine with turbocharger,intercooler,sport exhausts,ECU upgrade,… everything that’s on the market really! so it’s no wonder that it chucks out 650 hp.

The Blue Demon also features an extremely showy Voltex body kit with racing style bumpers, carbon fiber hood,doors and mirrors and a giant rear wings which improves the car’s downforce considerably at high speed.

Obviously the car’s suspension is also deeply modified, an so are the brakes which are replaced with high performance Brembo models. It also has 18-inch Forgeline EV3 wheels covered with Hankook Ventus competition tires.
