Audi A4, in fairness, is a rather boring car. That’s why a cool styling kit like this one from ABT is most welcome.

The new AS4 package not only improves the looks of the 2012 A4 by adding a new front spoiler lip, side skirts, side vents, a boot lid wing and a new rear diffuser with four big tailpipes in it, it also offers better performance.

The 2,0 liter TFSI gets a boost from 211hp to 275hp, the 3.0 liter TFSI from 333hp to 435hp, and the 3.0 liter TDI diesel from 245hp to 282hp.

Other part of the package is a sport exhausts system which is a must for every tuned vehicle, and a set of 19 or 20-inch wheels which you ca choose from ABT’s catalog.

Audi revealed the refreshed version of its best-selling sedan, A4. The 2013 Audi A4 family includes A4 Sedan, the A4 Avant, the A4 allroad quattro and the S4.

So the changes might not be as deep as you were expecting, but this is how an Audi should look like! The new A4 gets horizontal lines at the front end, arched hood, new grille, and revised bumpers with angular air inlets. But as mentioned an uninterested eye won’t be able to tell it apart from the old A4, or indeed any other Audi saloon.

The tail lights reflect the shape of the headlights, and in combination with xenon plus have homogeneous strips of LEDs. The bumper with its diffuser insert has been redesigned, with the exhaust system always terminating in two tailpipes. There is a selection of 15 paint finishes, including four new tones. The Sedan and the Avant offer the S line exterior package, while the Avant also includes a roof spoiler.

The A4 Avant is still one of the most handsome cars in its class, and in terms of practicality it still gets up BMW and Mercedes nose. The Audi A4 Sedan and the Avant each have a length of 4.70 meters (15.42 ft), while the A4 allroad quattro and the S4 are 4.72 meters (15.49 ft) long. The wheelbases for all models are 2.81 meters (9.22 ft), and the width is 1.83 and 1.84 meters, respectively (6.0 and 6.04 ft). The height varies between 1.41 and 1.50 meters (4.63 and 4.92 ft) depending on the body version.

The new generation A4 is offered with a wide range of engines and drivetrains. There is the 2.0 TDI with 100 kW, 120 kW or 130 kW with quattro drive, but there is also three other four-cylinder diesel engines are available – with 88 kW (120 hp), 105 kW (143 hp) and 130 kW (177 hp).

TSI petrol family include a 1.8 liter with a power output of 125 kW (170 hp) and 320 Nm (236.02 lb-ft) of torque. There is also an entry-level version of it with 88 kW (120 hp). The 3.0 liter TFSI is available in two variants. In the Audi A4 the V6, to follow a bit later, affords 200 kW (272 hp). In the sporty Audi S4 top model its power is an impressive 245 kW (333 hp).

A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the Sedan and Avant models with front-wheel drive; most variants offer continuously variable multitronic as an option. The quattro permanent all-wheel drive is standard on the Audi A4 allroad quattro, and available in the Sedan and Avant from the 2.0 TDI with 105 kW (143 hp).

The Audi A4 Sedan’s luggage compartment still has its 480-liter capacity – 962 liters with the rear seats folded down (16.95 and 33.97 cubic ft). The A4 Avant and the A4 allroad quattro have 490 and 1,430 liters, respectively (17.30 and 50.50 cubic ft), with Audi offering an optional electrically operated tailgate for both models.

The S4, the favorite car of business boys, come with sporty features like 18-inch wheels or the optional 19-inch wheels and an S line sport suspension that lowers the body by 30 millimeters (1.18 in) complete the package. Audi exclusive and Audi exclusive line offer further individualized options. The interior of the S line sport package comes in black, refined with high-quality applications.

Engine-wise, it gets the 3.0 TFSI with 245 kW (333 hp) and 440 Nm (324.53 lb-ft) torque.

The updated interior on all models are upgraded. The steering arm and the ignition key have been modified. High-gloss applications and the slender chrome trim at the controls add elegance to the interior. Sporty models come with a wide selection of new steering wheels with chrome and high-gloss inlays, with the leather sport steering wheel also featuring a flattened lower rim.

The MMI navigation plus system now features four instead of eight buttons, with a script function integrated in the volume control dial. Other improvements concern operation of the automatic transmission, the efficient air conditioning systems, Audi drive select and the multifunction steering wheel. The seat heating and air conditioning are now directly operated at the respective buttons.

As always the A4 series are loaded with equipments even in the base model. The chorus CD radio with eight speakers is standard, while the MMI navigation plus system with large hard disk, color monitor, 3D graphics and DVD player forms the top of the line. Voice control and the optional digital audio broadcasting are further improvements to the system.

You can also specify Bluetooth compatibility for the MMI system, as well as other new connectivity services such as as voice-controlled Google searches, Google Street View. Audi online traffic information, WLAN hotspot, and so on.

Pricing for the new A4 family starts at 35,425 euros, which is 475 euro more expensive than the last ModelYear.

Audi’s understated A4 is one of the most popular mid-size cars in both its sedan and estate forms, and the proof for that is new production record it achieves. Five million units, that number speaks for itself.

Audi A4′s success story began in 1994 and is now going on stronger than ever as the 5,000,000th unit which is an Audi A4 2.0 TFSI quattro in Misano Red rolls off the assembly line at Audi’s main plant in Ingolstadt. The A4 accounts for a high proportion of production capacity at the Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm plants.

The A4 is kinda the symbol of Audi. Save the R8, to be honest all Audi models look the same to an uninterested eye, and they all look like the A4! And it always looked just right, not too flash, not too discrete, just right. Being an Audi, the A4 has always benefited from latest technologies, most modern powertrains and superb build quality. Audi specialist AVUS Performance has released yet another cool package for one of the Inglostadt’s citizens, this time the A4 Avant. Called the Black Arrow, the car is based on the A4′s diesel model which can be had with either a 2.7 liter or a 3.0 liter TDI engines. AVUS offers performance upgrade for both models through fiddling with their ECU.The 2.7 liter model for example has 230hp and 358 lb/ft of torque.

But the best part of the Black Arrow is the way it looks. AVUS offers an exquisite gloss black paint job for this car, but upon request you may have in matte finish black or white. It’s amazing how the paint can change the style of a car.

It’s also been given the usual tuning treatment including coil-over suspension modification which drops the car by some inches and a new set of alloy wheels coming in 21-inch size.

Audi has revealed pricing for 2010 MY A4, A5 and Q5 a bit early as they are expecting a very strong demand! 2010 A4 with lots of enhancement and a long list of options starts from $31,450 for the base model with a 2.0liter Turbo engine and FWD. Audi also offers this 2.0T engine with the 2010 A5 coupe, it can be had $36,000 which is significantly cheaper than the 2009 MY base model. And as for the new Q5, it’s only available with the 3.2 liter FSI engine but has three trim levels starting at $37,350. All cars has a $825 destination charge.

Top speed of 364.6 km/h is an amazing record for a family saloon like the Audi A4, but in this case it’s truly astonishing because this Audi A4 runs on bio-gas! So not only Mr. Jürgen Hohenester made his way to the Guinness book, he proved that natural gas can be as good, if not better, as the petrol!

In fact Hohenester’s bio-gas Audi is so pwerful they had to delibrately limit it at 700 hp to stop it from ripping the transmission and other components apart! Without the limiter they managed to extract 800 hp out of the Audi’s 3.0 liter V6!! Of course the gas they put in this engine has octane number of 120 to 140!

This is not the first time that Hohenester tries to brake the speed record for gas-powered cars. In 2008 he had prepared another Audi A4 with 585 hp, pictured below, but that only managed 327 km/h.

Mercedes is rearranging its models, starting with the E-Class coupe which replaced CLK and upcoming S-Coupe which will send the CL out. Now they are developing a new front-wheel-drive platform which four new variants will be built upon it.

New generation of A and B-Class are currently in the works, and their variants are included a two door, a four door, a compact SUV and the BLS, a four-door coupe which is like a little brother for the CLS. It has the same design elements as the CLS like pillar-less doors and very curvy roof line. The BLS will go head to head with the best compact sedans in the market, the Audi A4 and BMW 3-series.

This car will probably be shown as a concept in 2010.

I bet you didn’t know this! One of the world’s largest car manufacturer is probably the least least famous as well. Iran Khodro (IKCO) is a government-owned car maker in Iran which has facilities that can make up to 1 million cars per year easily!

And when every single car maker is affected by global financial crisis they post constant rise in sales! And that is not because they make great cars, they are still making the old Peugeot 405 under license! but they have a monopoly there. In fact their cars are the only cars that most of Iranians can buy so they always have a great market! They also export their cars to some of their neighbours and also some African countries and they sell them abroad much cheaper than they sell them in domestic market !! This is no joke, it’s a fact.

Now they are planing to conquer the European market by sending their first national car there. Samand is the first and as far as we know the only car that is actually designed and made in Iran. However the car brings the old Audi A4 or Scoda Fabia to mind. It apparently has three variants, Samand, Sarir and Soren, where Sarir is the most luxurious version with most of the uptodate gadgets.The engine in the Samands is based on the 405 engine which is like 20 years old and is available with either 100 or 120 hp! Crikey!

The car is generally rubbish and it takes no genius to realize it does not fit even in eastern Europe market, but when Chinese are selling their absolute piece of craps to all over the world why shouldn’t them?! And you have to say in comparison to most of the Chinese cars Samand looks like a fine product! And like them, it’s winner card is the price. You can expect the most loaded version of Samand to cost around 14000 Euros.

The Audi specialist B&B has released a complete tuning program for the new A4 model in which they have upgraded every single engine in the range! They’ve also designed a very nice bodykit for both sedan and estate variants which gives a better look to the discreet Audi A4.

B&B program has different levels for different powers for different budgets . The lightest starts at 1198 euros and goes up to 5998 for the top version. As for the power starting from the base model a 120 hp TDI which gets 160 HP and 350 Nm and 185 HP and 380 Nm in two stages. After that there is the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder with 170hp that  will get tuned to 200 HP and 400 Nm and 220 HP and 420 Nm. Then is the 3.0 liter turbodiesel with 240hp which goes up to 285 HP and 585 Nm and even further in the Sport level with 300 HP and 600 Nm. At the top of the range for diesel engines ther is a 325 HP and 640 Nm unit.

As for the petrol engines the costs is between 998 to 6998 euros. They start with 1.8 TFSI which goes up step by step to reach 250hp and 350 Nm. The 2.0 liter will get 295 HP and 450 Nm and as the most powerful engine B&B offers there is the 405 HP and 510 Nm TFSI.

To make these power upgrades usable B&B retunes the chassis and lowers the car by 40mm and also put 20 inch wheels with 245/30 tires under it. All of these cost you 3,998 euros. And to wrap up this detailed program there is the cost of the body kit which is 1,898 euros. These Germans are so precise!

Audi released pictures and details of the new 2009 Allroad Quattro before its official debut at Geneva Motorshow.This is a response to the recent release of Saab 9-3X which also debuts at Geneva. Like the Saab, the Audi Allroad is not a full SUV, it’s more of a jacked up estate car based on the Audi A4 Avant with added outdoorsy stuffs.

With the new model you get a new grille, the on trend daytime LED lights, stainless steel underbody protection and bigger wheels, and of course Allroad’s flared wheelarches! As for the inside you get the new MMI system ( MultiMedia Interface) Bang&Olufsen audio system and special fabric trim plus some outdoor equippments like the reversible liner in the boot.

Audi Allroad Quattro comes with three choice of engines. A 211hp 2.0 liter petrol, and two diesels including a 170hp 2.0 liter and a 240hp 3.0 liter. The smaller diesel is fitted with a six-speed manual but other engines can be had with seven-speed S-tronic gearbox. Needless to say all cars have the Quattro system as standard. The suspension is also upgraded and can raise the height of the car for 180mm. An off-road detection system is integrated and  will automatically adjust the ESP settings when the car hits rough ground.

2009 Audi Allroad Quattro goes on sale in May this year starting from 37,100 Euros.

The wait for the hottest Audi TT is almost over as it will debut at the upcoming Geneva Motorshow. Coming in both coupe and roadster forms, the top of the range TT-RS will feature  a turbocharged 2.5 liter 5cylinder engine from VW with 340hp. To handle this amount of power the little TT will get Audi’s proven Quattro system and of course the new S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox. The car’s styling cues are yet to be revealed but revised bumpers with new spoilers, lower body and bigger wheels are typically expected.

Also at Geneva, an all-road version of the A4 Avant will be premiered. The sort of car that only Europeans will like! Basically it’s an Audi A4 with all-road features of the A6.

Audi unveiled its most powerful sedan to the GCC market within 2008 Sharjah Motor Show. It will be available to customers in the Middle East in January 2009 and is priced at Dhs 450,000 in UAE. RS6 is powered by a twin-turbo V10 developing 580 hp which makes it currently the most powerful production sedan in the market.

Audi released a long wheelbase model of its popular sedan A4 for the Chinese market and it will be launched at Guangzhou Motor Show on November 18. Fine, but question is why other parts of the world are not getting the A4L, as most of them are apparently in bigger size than Chinese people! A4L is powered by either a 2.0 TFSI with 132 kW (180 hp) or a six-cylinder 3.2 FSI with 195 kW (265 hp).

Audi is the first premium brand to introduce a prestigious long-wheelbase version in the upper mid-size category exclusively for the Chinese market: the Audi A4L’s wheelbase is 60 millimeters (2.36 inches) longer, which benefits rear-seat passengers in particular. The A4L thus offers unrivalled spaciousness in its segment.

Manufactured at the plant in Changchun, China, the new Audi A4L made its debut yesterday in Beijing. Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board of Management for Marketing and Sales at AUDI AG, and the President of the FAW-VW joint venture, An Tiecheng, emphasized the importance of the new Audi A4L for the Chinese market.

Schwarzenbauer said: “The long-wheelbase version of the Audi A4 is being produced exclusively in China for the Chinese market. With this premium product, we chose to go even further than elsewhere in the world to meet the requirements of our Chinese customers.”

Since its worldwide market launch last year, over 200,000 units of the Audi A4 have been sold. It was recently voted “Most Beautiful Car of the Year” by readers of Auto Bild, a German automotive magazine, and thus overall winner of the „Auto Bild Design Award 2008“.

“Our goal is to export the success of the new Audi A4 to China. With the customized Chinese A4L, which we subjected to rigorous testing in China, we are impressively demonstrating our market leadership in China’s premium segment,” added Schwarzenbauer.

With the A4L, Audi has created an automobile which outdoes the competition in terms of driving comfort, luxury, spaciousness, and design. The chassis was tailored to Chinese road conditions to provide exceptional suspension comfort. The wheelbase – 60 millimeters (2.36 inches) longer than the A4 sedan’s wheelbase – makes the A4L a unique vehicle. The longer wheelbase lends the A4L an especially roomy feel and makes getting into the rear seats even easier. In addition, the longer wheelbase is of particular benefit to rear-seat passengers, who can enjoy legroom unparalleled in this vehicle segment. Thanks to the increase in length and high-quality technology, the A4L injects full-size class into the mid-size category.

For the time being, two engine versions will be available for the Audi A4L in the Chinese market: the 2.0 TFSI with 132 kW (180 hp) and the six-cylinder 3.2 FSI with 195 kW (265 hp).

Audi has been offering a long-wheelbase version of the A6 in China since 2000. Now in its second generation, it provides better driving comfort, spaciousness, and design than the competition. Drivers and passengers of the 4.76 meter (15.62 feet) long A4L will enjoy similar advantages as it can be enjoyed as both a driver’s car and a chauffeured luxury sedan.

The Audi A4L, which will be rolled out starting at the Guangzhou Motor Show on November 18, will be at Chinese dealerships as of January 2009.
