UK pricing for the new 2013 BMW M6 Coupe and Convertible have been revealed by the German car maker’s British office.

According to their official announcement, the Coupe is priced from £93,795 and the Convertible from £98,995. Sales begin from 15 September 2012.

We’ve already covered all the details of the new M6, but to recap the main highlights, it’s got the latest V8 M TwinPower Turbo engine producing 560hp, near 50:50 weight distribution and optimised aerodynamics, DSC system, ative M differential and seven-speed DSG transmission, and sport suspension, as well as 19” Star-spoke forged alloy wheels featuring seven double spokes in a two-tone finish (Optional 20” alloy wheels).

Technically, this car is amazing. It’s a BMW, of course it is. What left us speechless is the aesthetics and visual drama of the car. It looks utterly fabulous inside and out. Well done BMW, after a great number of truly ugly cars, finally an M car that’s a proper looker.

Following the official pictures and details of the all-new 2013 BMW M6, here’s some more pics of this unbelievably handsome car for your viewing pleasure.

Before you start drooling all over it, however, let’s have a quick recap of what this car is all about. The new M6 is very good-looking, we’ve already said that a thousand times, but it’s also got substance.

The car is powered by a 4.4 liter bi-turbo v8, which in spite of its massive 560hp and maximum torque of 500 lb-ft (680 Nm), manages to average just below 10 liter/100 km in terms of fuel economy. That’s very impressive, especially when the car can do 0 to 100km/h in 4.2 seconds for the coupe and 4.3 seconds for the convertible.

The new M6 is also fitted with all kind of electronic and mechanical high-tech stuff to help you get the best of its power. It comes with a especially calibrated M seven-speed DSG transmission, and the latest DSC system, plus an active M differential at the back.

All in all, a very perfect Grand tourer.

BMW decided to reveal the new M6 coupe and cabrio over the weekend, so it’d have all the media’s attention to itself.

Set for debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the new 2013 BMW M6 is such a stunner. Based on the current 6 Series, which is one of the best looking coupes in the market, the M6 gets the usual M treatment of added power and style, but you have to say, it is the most tastefully done M car possibly ever.

It is a very perfect car and really hard to fault. The new M6 makes Mercedes job harder with the new SL63 AMG. It has to be something unbelievably good to match this M6, and even if it is, we’re not sure it’ll look just as good as the Bimmer.

In both coupe and convertible form, the new M6 boasts a magnificent design which is the result of some subtle, yet effective, changes over the normal models.

They include three-section, strikingly modelled lower air intake with aerodynamically optimised flaps; new M kidney grille with black double slats; flared wheel arches; hallmark M gills with integrated direction indicator bars; aerodynamically optimised exterior mirrors and side skirts; BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line; exposed reflectors below the rear lights; aerodynamically optimised rear apron with diffuser between the right and left-hand pair of twin exhaust tailpipes; 19-inch (standard) or 20-inch (optional) forged M light-alloy wheels, each with a distinctive interpretation of the familiar M double-spoke design.

The design manages to be elegant and sporty, and that’s a hard trick to pull.

We also love what they’ve done to the interior. It is still very BMWish with lots of button and a rather unfathomable iDrive system, but the new steering wheel that harks back to the old Bimmers, and the carbon fiber package, make it such a nice place to be in.

Other features of the M6 cabin includes: M gear selector and car set-up controls on the model-specific centre console; exclusive M sports seats with integrated belt system (optional: M multifunction seats); Merino leather upholstery with extended features; exclusive carbon-fibre interior trim strips; illuminated door sill finishers with model lettering; M-specific instrument cluster with black-panel technology; 2-zone automatic climate control with extended features, ambient lighting.

As for the engine, the new M6 gets the same 4.4 liter biturbo V8 as in the BMW M5 F10. It makes 412 kW/560 hp at 6,000 – 7,000 rpm and maximum torque: 680 Newton metres (502 lb-ft) from 1,500 rpm; maximum engine speed: 7,200 rpm. Performance is, as you’d expect, awesome. Check out these numbers:

Acceleration: 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds (BMW M6 Coupe) or 4.3 seconds (BMW M6 Convertible); 0–200 km/h (124 mph) in 12.6 (13.1) seconds; electronically governed top speed: 250 km/h (155 mph) or 305 km/h (189 mph) with M Driver’s Package.

That’s, to all intents and purposes, super car performance. Yet, the fuel economy is a very respectable 9.9 litres per 100 km / 28.5 mpg imp (BMW M6 Coupe) and 10.3 litres per 100 km / 27.4 mpg imp (BMW M6 Convertible). That’s because the M6 comes with Auto Start-Stop function and further Efficient Dynamics technology as standard.

The car features a special M-calibrated seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic; Launch Control and Low Speed Assistance; and an active M differential. What’s more, it features M-specific Dynamic Damper Control as standard; DSC stability control incl. M Dynamic Mode and M Servotronic steering.

I know they sound like a bunch of meaningless acronyms to most of you, but if you’ve ever driven an M car with those system, you’d know they make a huge difference in the feel and performance of the car.

With all the attention paid to the new M6′s performance and technicality, you might imagine BMW has skimped on luxury and comfort. Not so. The car comes with every luxury amenities the standard 6-series is blessed with, and then some.

The list includes adaptive LED Headlights fitted as standard, extensive range of BMW ConnectedDrive features, some unmatched by any rival: BMW Head-Up Display with M-specific information, High Beam Assistant, BMW Night Vision with pedestrian recognition, Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning, rear-view camera, Surround View, Speed Limit Info, internet access, extended integration of smartphones and music players, Real-Time Traffic Information and apps for receiving web radio and using Facebook and Twitter.

There is also an options list by which you can spec up your car further. It offers Comfort Access, active seats, heated steering wheel, doors with Soft Close Automatic function, Navigation system Professional, Bang & Olufsen High- End Surround Sound System.

The next big thing from BMW, at least until after Geneva Motor Show, will be the launch of the new M6.

The new BMW M6, as it’s abundantly clear by now, will be powered by the same 552bhp 4.4 liter V8 engine that you find in the F10 M5. It will also get the same sort of rear-drive chassis and transmission.

But, the new M6 is said to be a much more focused car than the current model. It will be lighter, thanks to a generous use of carbon fiber, lightweight alloy wheels, and even carbon-ceramic brakes. It seems the M6 is turning from a long-distance cruiser into a full-blooded sports car.

BMW M division doesn’t think so. Despite the fact that the new M6 is harder and sportier than the old model, they say it is still a comfortable grand tourer for everyday use. If anything, it gets a bit closer to the supercar BMW always wanted the M6 to be.

That – a bespoke sports car like Mercedes SLS – is what the M division desperately wants to make. They have the expertise and there’s definitely a market for an M supercar, but BMW is yet to greenlight the project.

The all-new BMW M6 Convertible has been caught undisguised sitting at Bayonne Military Ocean Terminal import vehicles depot.

This car is sent to U.S. probably for demonstration, press events and photoshoots. How do we know it’s the actual M6? That’s easy. The car features massive M-power wheels, oversized brake discs and calipers, a neat rear diffuser and four big tailpipes. These are all telltale signs of a fully fledged M car.

That special color on the car, which appears to be a darker shade of M5′s Monaco Blue, is another reason to believe it’s the real deal.

Engine-wise, the new M6 gets the same 4.4 liter V8 as the F10 M5 with 560 hp. Regardless of the performance, which will be brilliant because it’s a BMW, this car is also properly pretty, especially compared to the old M6. It looks even better to you when you check out the new Mercedes SL.

Now that the dust has settled on the BMW M5 F10, it’s time to start fantasizing about the new M6.

Here’s the outcome of an artist’s imagination about the F13 M6. And my God does it look good. The current 6-Series we think is one of the best looking coupes out there, and the M features will only make it better.

The M front bumper, side skirts, rear spoiler and the rear diffuser with four tailpipes, these are the ingredients of every BMW M. And they just seem to suit the 6er very, very well. Engine-wise, the 4.4 liter twin-turbo will be the source of power with no less than 560 hp. The old M6 was a technically brilliant car too, but to be honest it looked ugly from more than one angle. That is not the case with the new one.

Can’t wait to see the real thing. We hope it looks something close to this. The new Mercedes SL is going to be in a lot of trouble then!

I’m sure you are familiar with G Power Hurricane BMW M5 which is officially the fastest four-door sedan in the world. Now they’ve given the same treatment to the BMW M6, to create the world’s fastest 4-seater coupe. They have a big obsession with being the fastest! But in the M6′s case, they seem to have overdone it, becasue the M5 did it with 750 hp, this one’s got 800 hp.

So with 800 hp / 588 kW and 800 Nm of torque, the M6 hurricane RR can do 0 to 100 km/h in 4.35 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 9.5 seconds and too 300 km/h in 24.9 seconds. The top speed is 372 km/h.

The V10 engine of the car features two ASA T1-316 radial supercharger, dual-flow, water-cooled charge air cooler system finished in G-POWER’s characteristic orange, short intake channels, lightweight, precisely balanced Mahle high-performance forged pistons with lower compression and increased stiffness, high performance con rods and piston pins, modified mapping for the engine electronics and…

Of course the car also gets an aerodynamic bodykit, which is more discrete than that of the M5 hurricane. The M6′s equipped with a G-POWER carbon-fibre front skirt and a rear spoiler for greater aerodynamic downforce at high speed. The tuner also offers 20-inch G-POWER SILVERSTONE CLUBSPORT forged wheels clad in 255/35 ZR 20 and 285/30 ZR 20 rubber.

Other mechanical upgrades include G-POWER high-performance braking system and the G-POWER RS coil-over sports suspension, with 9-way adjustability for compression and rebound plus infinitely variable height adjustment.

Inside the cabin, you get tachometer that measures up to 400 km/h, visible carbon-fibre panelling for the dashboard, centre console and door trim, as well as the ergonomically shaped G-POWER sports steering wheel upholstered in perforated and highly tactile Kjerba Nappa leather.

And the price, it’s a very reasonable 252,100 Euro. But if that’s still too deep for you, you can order the G-POWER SK III RS bi-supercharger engine conversion for M5 and M6 with 750 hp / 551 kW for just 56,000 Euro.

The current generation of BMW M6 joins the M5 in the BMW Museum as the company ceases its production. The car was launched back in 2005, with the convertible variant following a year later, and during the past five years they sold 14,152 – 9,087 coupe and 5,065 Convertible. Since it’s the end of the line for the M5 and the M6, it means that the 5.0 liter V10 engine that powered these models bites the dust as well. Like the M5, the next generation of the M6 will be powered by the new 4.4 liter bi-turbo V8 which is just as powerful as the outgoing V10 but more fuel efficient.

Press Release:

With the departure of these two fascinating and exceptional athletes and the already discontinued fourth-generation BMW M5, production will now also cease for the unique V10 high-rev engine. For years the 373 kW/507 hp powerplant has set the benchmark for delivering sheer power in cars that are both highly dynamic in character and symbolic of the outstanding expertise of BMW M GmbH in developing high-performance engines. For two years in succession, 2005 and 2006, the ten-cylinder unit took overall victory in the prestigious Engine of the Year Award, and in the two years that followed achieved first place on each occasion in the category for engines with displacement above 4 litres.

The stand-out feature of this unique engine, developed exclusively for the BMW M5 and BMW M6 models, is power delivery that is both extremely dynamic and smooth even at higher loads. Output is developed from a 5-litre displacement split between ten combustion chambers, with the two banks of cylinders cranked at 90 degrees to one another. The engine delivers maximum output at 7,750 rpm, with engine speed eventually peaking at 8,250 rpm, and it has maximum torque of 520 Nm. In addition to the high-rev concept, a number of other technological details – electronically-controlled individual throttle valves, an ionic current control system and lateral force-controlled oil supply – were also directly derived from motor racing.

In much the same way, design principles of chassis technology and lightweight construction also found their way from the race track to the road. In the case of the BMW M6 Coupé, for example, carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) – a material that largely owes its introduction in the automotive sector to Formula One – was used in both the roof and bumper design. Its power-to-weight ratio of 3.37 kilograms per hp is another unbeatable key indicator in the profile of the BMW M6 Coupé. Moreover, its outstanding performance characteristics are additionally supported by seven-speed SMG Drivelogic and Launch Control for maximum acceleration from a standing start, the speed-sensitive variable M differential lock, and model-specific chassis technology, including Electronic Damper Control (EDC) and compound brakes. Standstill to 100 km/h acceleration time is a mere 4.6 seconds. The BMW M6 Convertible takes just 0.2 seconds longer, giving the driver time to appreciate not only the thrilling dynamic performance but also the irresistible flair of an open-top premium sports car in the luxury class.

The BMW M6 Coupé and BMW M6 Convertible received worldwide acclaim as dream cars for automotive enthusiasts with sporting ambitions. The number one market for both models was the US, which recorded sales of 3,528 closed and 3,247 open-top vehicles, followed by Germany (1,183 / 541 units). In third position for sales of the BMW M6 Coupé came Great Britain and Ireland, with 619 vehicle registrations; in the case of the BMW M6 Convertible it was Canada, with 209 units sold.

Sales of the BMW M5 followed a similar pattern. The United States once again came out on top, with sales of 8,786 vehicles. Then, after the domestic market of Germany (2,473 units), Great Britain and Ireland generated the next highest demand on the continent of Europe, with 1,980 vehicles. In total the BMW M5 recorded global sales of over 20,000 cars in under five years, with current figures of 19,494 units for the BMW M5 Saloon and a further 1,009 units for the BMW M5 Touring, available since 2007.

The total combined figures for the fourth-generation BMW M5 exceed even those of its predecessor model, which was in production for six years. With that it has secured the current high point in the success story of the BMW M5, the first generation of which established the vehicle segment of high-performance saloons at its introduction in 1984.

Tuner Prior Design pays a tribute to one of the finest creations of BMW, the M6, with an awesome wide body kit codenamed PD550. Thanks to the new parts, the car is now 80mm wider than the standard model and that alone boosts its great presence. It also features restyled bumpers with spoilers at front and a new diffuser at the back. New wings at the back complete the look of PD550.

Thanks to a modified lower suspension which drops the car by 30mm at the front and 25mm at the rear, the wider body strikes even more, further more this lowering job improves the aerodynamics.

The tuner also offers a new set of 20 or 21-inch black rims with the car covered with 255/35/ZR20 and 285/30/ZR20 rubber.

the 5.0 liter V10 507 hp engine of the car remains intact but a new custom-made sport exhaust systems helps it to have a bit more puff.

Car makers might have backed off a bot on the horsepower war, but there are always enough mad tuners out there to keep the heat up. A day after we had the Geiger Corvette with 890 hp and 354 kph top speed another German tuner, G-power, comes up with this monstrous BMW M6 called hurricane CS which develops only 750 hp, but amazingly is way faster than the Vette! It can do 370 kph, which makes it the fastest coupe Bimmer ever made.

It uses basically the same engine that G-power put into the M5 a while back and claimed of the fastest four-door saloon in the world. That had 730 hp but somehow it wasn’t enough for Mr.G-power’s taste! So they have remapped the ECU and tweaked the superchargers to get another 20 hp out of it. The peak torque is now 800nm.

On the contrary to the horsepower, the amount of torque is not that impressive. You get way more than that from a standard AMG powered Mercedes. This shortage of torque shows when you accelerate! It takes 4.4 seconds to get you to 100 kph which is honestly slow, you can go mush faster in cheaper less powerful cars on the market today. Of course G-power has tried to save weight wherever it was possible, but it is still not an athlete!

As for the looks, M6 Hurricane features as nice wide bodykit with lots of carbon fiber parts and central exhausts at the back, plus 21 inch Diamond design rims. But they have let the whole thig down by choosing a horrible color for these press pictures!

Like other tuned products at this level, the Hurricane CS costs a fortune, €360,000 to be precise. And that’s where a question pops into your mind: Why should I buy a car that makes me look like a clot while I can get a brand new Ferrari 599 GTB for that money, which amongst all of the advantages, accelerates faster as well !
