The headline sounds innocuous, but it’s got everyone in the motoring world thinking what Bugatti is planning for.

We know that the production of Veyron and Veyron Supersport is all pretty much finished. And as for the Grand Sport, they recently announced – while unveiling a new special edition for Qatar – that there’s 105 slots remaining for that car.

So what are they going to do with two years worth of Veyron transmissions they just ordered to Ricardo, the British firm that makes them?

Well, some of it will end up in those Grand Sports. But you can’t help but think they are plotting something new. It is probably the the Super Sport version of the Grand Sport. And let’s not forget that Bugatti is still pondering the possibility of producing the 16C Galibier super saloon.

Whatever it is coming next from Bugatti, it means they are doing well business-wise. And that’s kinda funny, because if we remember rightly, when the Veyron first came out parent company Volkswagen said making each car cost them something like 5 million euro, and selling them for 1.5 million euro they actually make a huge loss on each one.

They said there’s no financial purpose in making the Veyron and they just do it as a showcase of their brilliance. But that just can’t be true, because if it was, VW must have gone bankrupt by now!

The Veyron must have become profitable for the company, so they keep making different versions of it.

We don’t know who Simon is, but we are jealous of this Chinese fella. Because for his 40th birthday he got a special edition Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Edition Merveilleux. It is a gift from Simon to himself, but as far as gifts go, this is a big one. I mean just imagine getting a one-off Bugatti SuperSport with unique styling as your birthday present!

Visually, this Merveilleux Veyron SS features an exposed carbon fiber body with chrome dental work and special black wheels. Inside the cabin it gets blue leather seats with black “Super Sport” logo on the headrests. Mechanically, it is the same as other SS models which means Simon gets a 1,200 hp W16 engine which can take him to a top speed of well beyond 400 km/h.

A normal Bugatti Veyron SuperSport sets you back around $2 million. Not sure how much this one-off cost Simon, but it must have been a lot, as Bugatti CEO Wolfgang Durheimer himself presents the car to the man. Check out this video:

Bugatti is paying tribute to one of its biggest markets, Middle East, with three special Grand Sport ME versions.

Unveiled at the the Dubai International Motor Show these models come in yellow, green and blue.

The yellow one has a unique two-tone paint job with a bright yellow body and a underside in visible black carbon, including black-tinted wheels. Same theme continues inside with seats finished in yellow-colored leather with black stitching. The middle console is in black carbon, while the dashboard, steering wheel and gearshift are encased in black leather with yellow stitching.

It kinda reminds us of Bijan Pakzad’s Bugatti. The price for this baby is 1.58 million euro.

Then we have the blue one with a two-tone horizontal colour split consisting of visible blue carbon, framed in polished, anodised aluminium, and aluminium polished and Diamond Cut two-tone finish for wheels. Interior features include tangerine leather, door panels, dashboard, steering wheel and console covered in dark blue Indigo leather or exposed blue carbon fibre, with tangerine stitching on the steering wheel and gearshift knob.

This one will set you back 1.74 million euro.

The last member of the trio is a bit more special. It features a newly developed green carbon fibre tone with polished aluminium. The rims, the exterior rearview mirrors and even the EB-logo at the rear are of polished aluminium. Inside the sominant color is een and silver to match the exterior.

It too is 1.74 million euro.

If you want one of these you better hustle because we suspect all three will be sold by midnight!

As far as drag races ago, this is one of the good ones. Well, it’s kinda the ultimate drag race between two of the most expensive and fastest cars in the world. It’s the Bugatti Veyron, the normal 1001 hp version not the Supersport, versus the Koenigsegg CCXR, the hottest version of the Swedish supercar with roughly the same power. Told you it’s a good’un!

More awesome stuff from this year’s Pebble beach Concourse, Jay Leno’s Garage provide us with an inside look at the latest special edition Bugatti Veyron, the L’Or Blanc. This unique version of the Grand Sport features porcelain elements for exterior and interior design and has an abstract design. British celeb Katie ‘Jordan Price has just bought a million quid Bugatti Veyron and immediately decided it should be pink!

Jordan is a full-blown car nut and has painted most of her cars in that color. She says she wants to paint the Bugga pink as well so it would match the rest of her collection, but the real reason behind it might be getting more media attention. After all, she’s now 33, and needs more than just her breasts to stay in the game!

She handed the car to Afzal Kahn, the world famous tuner, and his team has already started the operation. The Veyron would look spectacularly ridiculous in pink! Can’t wait to see the result.

The world famous black and yellow Bugatti Veyron belonging to the late Bijan Pakzad, the Iranian-American designer who recently passed away, was vandalized in front his boutique in Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills where it’s always parked. As you see in the picture and the video the vandal has smashed the passenger side window of the car for reasons that are still not clear. He’s been taken to custody. Now, who’s gonna pay the cost of repairing the million dollar car?!

This is not the most outrageous thing tuner Dartz has done to a car, but this is one of the most disappointing ones! They’ve ruined a Bugatti Veyron by wrapping it in this red chrome foil. As you see in the video after the jump, it’s blinding to look at this car. The owner who has ordered this treatment must be very rich, and very lonely. He just wanted to grab maximum attention. Apparently the standard Bugga is not flash enough.

Now that the Veyron 16.4 is gone, it’s the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport that gets all the special editions. Check out the magnificent L’Or Blanc.

Built in collaboration with German KPM, this Veyron GS uses porcelain elements for exterior and interior design to create an artistic appearance. Not to mention it is the first car in th world to features porcelain elements, and the first to feature an abstract design!

As part of the exterior design, porcelain is used for the inlays of the centre wheel badges, the fuel filler cap and the oil filler cap as well as the signature “EB” badge at the rear. Their shiny white surface blends in with the brilliant bright finish of the paint suggesting that the car would be coated with a thin layer of porcelain, too.

One cool features of the car is a a fine porcelain dish with edges finished in an exclusive diamond polishing – a technique that has been applied by the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin for the very first time. The precious dish can be removed and is part of a picnic set that was exclusively designed by KPM for the Bugatti car.

Apart from the amazing design, the rest of the car is identical to other Veyron Grand Sports. This is a one-off car for now, but they will gladly make you another one if you hand over 1.65 m EUR.

“At first, it seems to be an unusual idea to use porcelain in a car, especially in the world’s fastest convertible,” comments Dr. Stefan Brungs, Director of Sales and Marketing at Bugatti Automobiles. “But this is what Bu- gatti stands for: the realization of exceptional ideas whilst striving for the utmost in quality and aesthetics. This allows us to continue Ettore Bugatti’s heritage, who himself loved to experiment with new materials.”

“The impulse for that partnership came from Rembrandt Bugatti’s renowned elephant,” tells Joerg Woltmann, owner of the Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (KPM) and car aficionado. “At the beginning, we wanted to integrate the sculpture in our product range, then we thought about the potential for a comprehensive service and finally the synthesis of ideas led us to this outstanding Grand Sport.” Woltmann is enthusiastic about the “L’Or Blanc”. “A number of superlatives are associated with porcelain from the Konigliche Porzellan-Manufak- tur Berlin: one says it has the most beautiful shapes and decors, it has the hardest weight and the whitest tone. Now, it is also the fastest porcelain.”

A European customer has bought the final production Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Coupe, and consigned the car to history.

The story of Bugatti’s record-breaking car countinues though, with the Grand Sport is still available to order. If you wanted a Veyron, you should have bought it before this happens, because it has now turned into an ultimate collectors item and its price will keep rising. That said, if you can afford to spend $1.5 mil on a car, you wouldn’t mind spending an extra $500K, would you!

Even at those insane prices, Volkswagen, who owns Bugatti, claims that – considering the cost of development – not only they made no profit, they lost a big pile of money on each Veyron. We’re not sure that’s particularly true because they kept making it, then the special editions, then the GS, then the SS, and now we are hearing things about a new four-door Royale.

The Veyron as I’m sure you know, is an exceptional car that rewrote the rule books. It proved a car can be as fast as 400 km/h and yet offer an unmatched level of luxury and craftsmanship. Here’s a brief history on this astonishing and magnificent machine:

The development of the Bugatti Veyron represented one of the greatest technical challenges and engineering achievements in automotive history. Volkswagen bought the rights to the Bugatti brand in 1998, and just one year later the company presented its fourth concept vehicle, the close-to- production study EB 18/4 Veyron at the Tokyo Motor Show. Barely six years down the line, on 29 April 2005, a Veyron exceeded 400 km/h for the very first time, and six months later was presented to its global audience.

The Veyron was and remains a synthesis of superlative technical achievements. It was the first pro- duction vehicle to have a full carbon-fibre monocoque, and its torsional rigidity of 60,000 Newton meters per degree remains unparalleled to this day. The 7,993 cm3 capacity sixteen-cylinder engine with its four continuously variable camshafts and four turbochargers is capable of a top speed of 407 km/h, developing 1,001 PS (736 kW). The seven-gear twin-clutch gearbox governs an unbelievable 1,250 Newton meters of torque, and is one of the fastest transmissions in the world with shift times of less than 150 milliseconds.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 takes place in a legendary 2.5 seconds. With its carbon-ceramic brakes, highly innovative brake cooling system and the rear spoiler which is activated to serve as an additional air brake when braking, this superlative sports car can come to a complete standstill from 100 km/h in just 31.4 metres and 2.3 seconds. The Super Sport boasting 1,200 PS and a top speed of 415 km/h performs the same feat even faster.

Bugatti turned up at the 2011 version of the Chinese Motor Show with a pair of special editions. Of course every single Bugga is quite special already, but these are doubly special!

First we have the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport finished in matte white, with the same tone on the roof ‘s prominent air intakes, garnished exquisitely with blue carbon elements on the vehicle‘s lower section and blue finished alloy wheels. Blue also continues inside the car, making a nice contrast with the white stitching on seats, steering wheel and gear lever and an aluminum console.

The rest of it is a normal Gran Sport which means 736 kW (1,001 PS), 1,250 Nm torque and a top speed of 407 km/h (limited), and a removable transparent polycarbonate roof for when it rains.

The other is an all black Veyron Supersport. It is finished completely in black visible carbon carbon with polished and anodized aluminum detailing, plus EB logos on wheel caps, fuel filler cap and rear lid. The interior of the Super Sport is draped in two-tone “Snow Beige” and “Beluga Black”. Carbon continues as a defining theme in the inside, sheathing the doors and inset in the central console. The rest is in highly exclusive “Snow Beige” leather.

This Veyron has 882 kW (1,200 PS) and is currently the fastest production car in the world with an officially recorded speed of 431 km//h.

Both these cars are already sold to customers in China.

Most of the rumors in the automotive world turn out to be true, so the answer to the question above is yes, Bugatti is working on a successor for the mighty Veyron. Based on unofficial reports, the new Bugga will be an evolution of the current Supersport model, lighter and more powerful.

Apparently the target for the new Bugatti Veyron is 270 mph top speed. The new goal is going to be accomplished mostly through lightening the car using Lamborghini know-how for lightweight materials, dominantly carbon fiber, and reducing the car’s luxury garnish. The design of the new Veyron will also be evolutionary, with better aerodynamics than before.

If it turns out to be true, you can expect the new, lighter, faster Bugatti Veyron to be launched in 2013. In that case you have to say VW and Bugatti are liers! When the first Veyron came out they used to say that making each unit of this car cost 5 times the MSRP, but they kept making it. Then they made the Grand Sport version, then the Super Sport, and now this. If they were losing money on the Veyron they must have gone bust by now!

Famous designer Bijan, apparently bored with Rollers, bought himself a Bugatti Veyron. But then he had it painted in this ghastly color combination of Black and Yellow! He then parked it outside his boutique in Beverly Hills so it could be photographed and get him more public attention. A few years ago we saw another Black/Yellow Bumblebee style Veyron in Dubai belonging to one of the royalties. This must be some kind of a Middles Eastern taste, because as you know Bijan is originally Persian.

It is obviously a big, expensive fail!

Bryan “Birdman” Williams is yet another rapper who made a huge fortune in the hiphop industry, and is now looking for ways to blow his cash up in the most noticeable ways! I’m not a fan of his music, well I only listen to 50 Cent, Eminem and Dre anyway, but it must be good cuz it’s earned him big money. His taste in cars though, does not seem to be very good. He recently got himself a Veyron which is great but from all colors he went for the all-red. Maybe black or silver are too discrete for him! The funny bit is that he paid $2.1 million for it, almost twice the normal price for that terrible color! He did this just to get noticed. Well, mission accomplished.

The only rapper with great taste in cars is 50 Cent, who has a collection of Ferraris including F40, F50, 599 and Enzo.

Linea Vincero by Mansory is the only tuned version of the Bugatti Veyron, but it’s not the ultimate Veyron because of this, the Linea Vincero d’Oro. It’s a sort of upgrade Mansory has prepared for the Vincero to make it even more exclusive and unreachable. The car’s bodykit has not changed significantly in comparison to the original Vincero, but there are new garnishes.

The car still comes in uncolored carbon fiber, but it looks even more royal thanks to the Mansory golden touches! They include the golden front grille, turbine-design wheels, the door handles, the rear view mirror caps and the fuel tank cap. But that’s not all: the headlight washer nozzle covers, the borders around the daytime running LEDs and the decorative features on the roof all shimmer in precious gold too.

The interior changes have been more serious. It has LED lighting system placed in the car’s seats, the door trims and the dashboard which make the cabin shine in the golden glow! There are lots of leather and carbon fiber as well, but this being Mansory even those things are unique,  so you get high quality carbon appliqués and specially embossed leather, plus a new ergonomic steering wheel.

These changes have definitely made the Veyron way too much exclusive. Of course who ever buys this thing is going to enjoy its awesomeness, but judging it just from a viewer point of view, it is ghastly!

Our  friends at Diariomotor have been busy testing some cars on a Spanish back road as they came across one of the hottest and rarest cars in the world, the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport. Luckily they had their cameras ready and scooped a few images of this super special Veyron. It’s not the kinda car you see on the road everyday. Apparently the SS  were accompanied by two other normal Veyrons, God knows what they were doing together but I bet it was hot!

So as we’ve been posting the very first pictures of the new Bugatti Veyron SuperSport, Bugatti’s official press release came in with high quality images! Let’s cut to the chase, the Veyron 16.4 SuperSport has set a new landspeed world record for production cars at 431 km/h! The car was driven by factory driver Pierre Henri Raphanel and they did it on VW’s own proving ground at Ehra-Lessien, same place that James May maxed the normal Veyron.

We’ve already told you about some of the new things about Bugatti Veyron SuperSport. Now read on for the story of the new speed record, and more details on this super-exquisite, ultra-hot, magnificently awesome piece of automotive brilliance!

Saturday, 2 pm – Bugatti’s Pilote Officiel Pierre Henri Raphanel puts his helmet and gloves on, pulls the safety belts tight whilst the engineers check the car a very last time: tyre pressure, temperature, all systems go. Then the orange black Super Sport crosses the light barrier, from now on the time will be taken, within one hour the car has to drive from South to North and then in the opposite direction. No one but the driver is allowed to touch the car during this time. The tension rises. A few minutes later we can hear from the left side the sound of a starting jumbo jet coming closer towards us. First we perceive the headlights of the Veyron, then we can recognize the shape of the car, a loud wooosh…. and Raphanel dashes in top speed past us. The GPS-tachometer stops at 427, 933 km/h. Now the same procedure from the opposite direction. This time the car reaches 434, 211 km/h. As average top speed the representatives of the “TÜV”and Guinness generate a value of 431, 072 km/h (268 mph). This even hit Bugatti’s engineering team by surprise. “We took it that we would reach an average value of 425 km/h,” explains Bugatti’s chief engineer Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, “but the conditions today were perfect and allowed even more.”

The climax of the Veyron series: the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
Had a model been especially popular or highly successful in races, Ettore Bugatti’s customers often pushed the master to tease out of the engine a few horsepower more for their future car. Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. had been in a similar situation when their existing customers asked the company to not only design their second model optically differently but to also create a version with a sportier and more extreme driving experience. The result is a car with a uniquely high performance of 1,200-hp (882 kW) offering experienced drivers a whole new dimension of excitement, with a maximum torque of 1,500 Newton metres and a limited top speed of 415 km/h (to protect the tyres) but, the technique of the Super Sport is identical to the record car. The first five Super Sports to come off the production line will constitute a special series of their own, with the same configuration as the landspeed record car.

The Super Sport is a consequent of the further development of the classic exclusive 1,001-hp Bugatti Veyron 16.4, launched in 2005. This model offers a stunning set of specifications, such as the twin clutch gearbox with seven speeds, the extraordinarily precise driving performance in bends and excellent stability when braking and accelerating.

Continuous work in extreme performance ranges lead to constantly new conclusions, which enabled the engineers at Bugatti to develop the Veyron into a direction in which the driver can reach new dimensions. Every modification is designed to produce an even more powerful car for an agile ride. Four enlarged turbochargers and bigger intercoolers have been used to boost the power of the 16-cylinder engine, and the chassis has been extensively redesigned to maintain safety at extreme speed – thanks to slightly raised main-spring travel, stronger stabilisers, and new shock absorbers with a complex architecture originally developed for racing cars. This gives noticeably more precise control of the wheels and the car as a whole. With lateral acceleration of up to 1.4 G and improved interaction between the tyres and the intelligent all-wheel drive system, the Super Sport offers perfect handling and even more powerful acceleration of 1,500 Newton metres on corner exits.

The body has been fine-tuned to improve aerodynamic efficiency and maintain perfect balance in every situation, while the new fibre structure of the all-carbon monocoque ensures maximum torsion rigidity and passive safety – at reduced weight. The skin is made entirely of carbon-fibre composites, and the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is available in 100 per-cent clear-lacquered exposed carbon on request.

Dynamic exterior

Every detail of this car, and not just its use of advanced motorsport technology, harks back to the pioneering spirit of company founder Ettore Bugatti. This brilliant designer came from a family of artists, and his philosophy was always to combine mechanical perfection and exterior beauty. This ethos remains alive and well at the company, and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is wholly unmistakeable, with every external modification serving to coax greater performance from the car.

The Super Sport’s flat, elongated silhouette is immediately recognisable. The 16-cylinder engine gets its air from two NACA ducts integrated into the roof, rather than from scoops above the engine. The front air intakes have been expanded and reshaped, with the lower one extending elegantly around the sides to the wheel arch. The revised back looks sportier due to the double diffuser and a centrally arranged exhaust system.

Bugatti has a tradition of making super-sport versions of successful models, usually with racing chassis and supercharged engines. These cars were considered as true racing machines for diehard Bugatti devotees. The most successful were the type 55 and type 57S; only around forty of each were built.

Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. has sold 260 Veyrons and 35 Grand Sports by now, of which 249 Veyrons and 22 Grand Sports had been delivered. The Super Sport will begin production this autumn at Molsheim along with the Veyron and the Grand Sport. The first five cars – known as the World Record Edition – are in a special black exposed carbon and orange finish and have already been sold.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport will appear for the first time in public in California at the Pebble Beach Concours weekend in mid-August and will be featured at The Quail, Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca and on the concept lawn of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Feast your eyes on the super ultra-hot version of Bugatti Veyron! It’s the 1,200 hp Supersport model which will make it s public debut at Pebble Beach. The body of the car is noticeably different than normal Veyrons, with new front spoiler, side sills, new roof compartment and an all-new rear-end. These changes might not be very good visually, but they had to be done for the sake aerodynamics.

And it must have better aerodynamics, because it’s the ultimate version of the ultimate car with even higher top speed! Bugatti (or VW) engineers have done a great job handling a 1000 hp in the normal Veyron, and now they found room for another 200 horses. This extra power definitely makes the car faster.

Regular Veyron has a top speed of 407 km/h, for the Supersport although it’s not officially confirmed yet, this number is above 430 km/h. Unfortunately, they will have to limit the top speed in production models to 415 km/h, because any faster and the tires will burst!

This will be an extremely rare limited edition, so if you are one of those extremely lucky people who is going to get one, make sure you get a better paint job than this horrible black/orange combination!

Normally a video like this would come out of UAE, but the last time they posted videos like these on the Internet, they had to spend a couple of days in his highness’s prison! So the Russians took over and put a Bugatti Veyron up against a Switzer-tuned Nissan GTR with P800 package which chucks out 800 hp, for a drag race. And much to the surprise of everyone, the American/Japanese playstation beats the French/German spaceship! Still, I’d rather have the Veyron!
