The headline sounds innocuous, but it’s got everyone in the motoring world thinking what Bugatti is planning for.

We know that the production of Veyron and Veyron Supersport is all pretty much finished. And as for the Grand Sport, they recently announced – while unveiling a new special edition for Qatar – that there’s 105 slots remaining for that car.

So what are they going to do with two years worth of Veyron transmissions they just ordered to Ricardo, the British firm that makes them?

Well, some of it will end up in those Grand Sports. But you can’t help but think they are plotting something new. It is probably the the Super Sport version of the Grand Sport. And let’s not forget that Bugatti is still pondering the possibility of producing the 16C Galibier super saloon.

Whatever it is coming next from Bugatti, it means they are doing well business-wise. And that’s kinda funny, because if we remember rightly, when the Veyron first came out parent company Volkswagen said making each car cost them something like 5 million euro, and selling them for 1.5 million euro they actually make a huge loss on each one.

They said there’s no financial purpose in making the Veyron and they just do it as a showcase of their brilliance. But that just can’t be true, because if it was, VW must have gone bankrupt by now!

The Veyron must have become profitable for the company, so they keep making different versions of it.

High-end cars are always the best feature of motor shows in the Middle East. At the second Qatar Motor Show, Bugatti unveils a unique version of the Grand Sport that will blow the visitors away.

This super special edition of the Veyron GS, the fastest convertible car in the world, has a horizontal colour split with a bright yellow body framed in visible black carbon, including black-tinted wheels. It sorta reminds us of Bijan Pakzad’s Bugatti.

The theme continues inside as well, with seats finished in yellow-colored leather with black stitching. The middle console is in black carbon, while the dashboard, steering wheel and gearshift are made of black leather with yellow stitching.

The car looks utterly magnificent. It also has a fantastic price tag. It is priced at 1.58 million euros – about 180 grand more than the standard Grand Sport – and we reckon it will take at least 5 minutes before someone at the show writes a check for it. Rich Arabs absolutely love unique cars, especially one with such showy color.

In case you are wondering about the top speed of this Bugga, it’s 350km/h with the roof off, and 407km/h with it on.

Bugatti Veyron family is apparently expecting a new member, a convertible version of the SuperSport.

According to sources close to company, Bugatti is already taking orders from its most special customers for a convertible SuperSport. They are also talking about a probable Geneva Motor Show debut for the car.

This yet unconfirmed model, almost certainly called the Grand Super Sport, will be powered by the same 1,200 hp powertrain of the SS  and will get its aero kit, while sporting the removable roof of the GS.

Seeing as the GS is slower than the normal Veyrons, it takes no genius to say the GSS will be slower than the SS. Still, with that W16 engine under the hood it will certainly be crowned as the world’s fastest convertible car.

Reports from Germany indicate that Bugatti won’t be ready the put to Galibier concept into production until 2015.

Remember Bugatti CEO  Wolfgang Durheimer’s remarks about altering the car’s design? Well, turns out these changes are going to take a lot more time than expected, even though most of them are focused on making the car more comfortable by adding a bit more legroom.

But when you are going to make a car that will cost at least $1.4 million, you have to make sure it’s perfect in every way. The Galibier will also get the same 1001 hp engine as the Veyron, despite the rumors that suggest it would be a bi-turbo and not a quad-turbo, and therefore about a 100 hp weaker. Bugatti says a new model can’t be weaker than the previous one!

Bugatti Galibier Concept is still on track for production, but it’s going to be significantly different than the concept version.

Bugatti decided they need to alter the design after a number of meetings with the Veyron owners who were invited to come check the car out and give feedback. Bugatti boss Wolfgang Durheimer is backing up the changes.

The new Galibier will be lengthier and provide more rear legroom for the passengers, and that’s the whole point of the car as a four-door uber-lux version of the Veyron. The engine will be the same W16, but the word is that Galibier only gets two turbos rather than four and therefore makes about a 100 hp less.

“I will suggest we continue development, but there will be some remarkable changes from the original concept,” said Durheimer. “The design will be different, especially from the B-pillar back, the ingress and regress to the rear seats will be improved, as will the legroom and ergonomics, the car will be a little longer, and the power of the engine will be at least four figures.”

Bugatti boss had confirmed his company will launch a new Veyron model in near future. Turns out the car is a Super Sport version of the Grand Sport.

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, for those of you who may not know, is the convertible version of the 16.4 hypercar. And the SuperSport is the 1,200 hp version of the same car which is currently the fastest production car in the world.

For their new car they just simply mixed this two! These spyshots reveal what’s believed to be the first prototype for the Grand Sport Super Sport, and shows revised bumpers and hood. Engine-wise, the car should get the same 1,200 engine as the Supersport, but it might not be just fast for obvious reasons.

British celeb Katie ‘Jordan Price has just bought a million quid Bugatti Veyron and immediately decided it should be pink!

Jordan is a full-blown car nut and has painted most of her cars in that color. She says she wants to paint the Bugga pink as well so it would match the rest of her collection, but the real reason behind it might be getting more media attention. After all, she’s now 33, and needs more than just her breasts to stay in the game!

She handed the car to Afzal Kahn, the world famous tuner, and his team has already started the operation. The Veyron would look spectacularly ridiculous in pink! Can’t wait to see the result.

A European customer has bought the final production Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Coupe, and consigned the car to history.

The story of Bugatti’s record-breaking car countinues though, with the Grand Sport is still available to order. If you wanted a Veyron, you should have bought it before this happens, because it has now turned into an ultimate collectors item and its price will keep rising. That said, if you can afford to spend $1.5 mil on a car, you wouldn’t mind spending an extra $500K, would you!

Even at those insane prices, Volkswagen, who owns Bugatti, claims that – considering the cost of development – not only they made no profit, they lost a big pile of money on each Veyron. We’re not sure that’s particularly true because they kept making it, then the special editions, then the GS, then the SS, and now we are hearing things about a new four-door Royale.

The Veyron as I’m sure you know, is an exceptional car that rewrote the rule books. It proved a car can be as fast as 400 km/h and yet offer an unmatched level of luxury and craftsmanship. Here’s a brief history on this astonishing and magnificent machine:

The development of the Bugatti Veyron represented one of the greatest technical challenges and engineering achievements in automotive history. Volkswagen bought the rights to the Bugatti brand in 1998, and just one year later the company presented its fourth concept vehicle, the close-to- production study EB 18/4 Veyron at the Tokyo Motor Show. Barely six years down the line, on 29 April 2005, a Veyron exceeded 400 km/h for the very first time, and six months later was presented to its global audience.

The Veyron was and remains a synthesis of superlative technical achievements. It was the first pro- duction vehicle to have a full carbon-fibre monocoque, and its torsional rigidity of 60,000 Newton meters per degree remains unparalleled to this day. The 7,993 cm3 capacity sixteen-cylinder engine with its four continuously variable camshafts and four turbochargers is capable of a top speed of 407 km/h, developing 1,001 PS (736 kW). The seven-gear twin-clutch gearbox governs an unbelievable 1,250 Newton meters of torque, and is one of the fastest transmissions in the world with shift times of less than 150 milliseconds.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 takes place in a legendary 2.5 seconds. With its carbon-ceramic brakes, highly innovative brake cooling system and the rear spoiler which is activated to serve as an additional air brake when braking, this superlative sports car can come to a complete standstill from 100 km/h in just 31.4 metres and 2.3 seconds. The Super Sport boasting 1,200 PS and a top speed of 415 km/h performs the same feat even faster.

Lately Bijan Pazkzad,  the famous Iranian-American fashion designer better known by his first name Bijan, had been involved with luxury car business. He had contracts with Rolls Royce and Bugatti to make unique and exquisite models. He also had a Bugatti Veyron finished in his signature color black and yellow, which he used to park in front of his Rodeo Drive boutique all the time. In honor of this great man, who passed away last month at the age of 67, Bugatti released footage of a Veyron Grand Sport Bijan had designed with magnificent details. The one we really liked is ‘bijan’ logo on the back of the car’s air brake which is hidden most of the time and only appears occasionally! That’s very cool. May Bijan rest in peace.

Bugatti turned up at the 2011 version of the Chinese Motor Show with a pair of special editions. Of course every single Bugga is quite special already, but these are doubly special!

First we have the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport finished in matte white, with the same tone on the roof ‘s prominent air intakes, garnished exquisitely with blue carbon elements on the vehicle‘s lower section and blue finished alloy wheels. Blue also continues inside the car, making a nice contrast with the white stitching on seats, steering wheel and gear lever and an aluminum console.

The rest of it is a normal Gran Sport which means 736 kW (1,001 PS), 1,250 Nm torque and a top speed of 407 km/h (limited), and a removable transparent polycarbonate roof for when it rains.

The other is an all black Veyron Supersport. It is finished completely in black visible carbon carbon with polished and anodized aluminum detailing, plus EB logos on wheel caps, fuel filler cap and rear lid. The interior of the Super Sport is draped in two-tone “Snow Beige” and “Beluga Black”. Carbon continues as a defining theme in the inside, sheathing the doors and inset in the central console. The rest is in highly exclusive “Snow Beige” leather.

This Veyron has 882 kW (1,200 PS) and is currently the fastest production car in the world with an officially recorded speed of 431 km//h.

Both these cars are already sold to customers in China.

Volkswagen has been waiting to see how the luxury car market recovers from the economy downturn and then put the Bugatti Galibier concept into production. Now it seems the time has come.

Based on the recent reports, Bugatti has received the green light from parent company Volkswagen to prepare the Galibier for series production. Of course when we say series production it doesn’t mean they will make a thousand of them! The Galibier will probably have the same limited production run as the Veyron, and probably the same number of endless special editions.

The final production version of the ultra-lux super sedan – which is expected to arrive sometime close to 2013 – will be priced well over 1 million Euro or $1.4 million. I know it is insanely high, but it’s a bargain compared to the Veyron! Because it has twice the doors, twice the seats, and it’s supremely comfortable and luxurious, and it has the same 1000 hp W16 engine.

That said, the Galibeir won’t be as fast as the Veyron for obvious reasons, but it sure will be the fastest produciton sedan in the world.

This is probably the best way to start the week! Celebrating its 5000th road test review, British magazine Autocar went to an empty runway with a Bugatti Veyron SuperSport and did a few acceleration tests with the world’s fastest car. In this video you get to see how this extraordinary vehicle takes off the line both with launch control and in the mode they call show off launch which includes some tire smoke! It’s unbelievable how the Bugga pulls away and how stable it is at extremely high speed.

The first International edition of Qatar Motor Show turned out to be a very big event with lots of great cars taking part and some important debuts such as the Lamborghini Gallardo Bicolore, which added to its credibility. As a sort of cherry for the top, Bugatti is also present in Qatar with their magnificent Grand Sport.

On this occasion, Bugatti released a few super cool pictures of the Veyron GS reflecting on this car’s amazing specification.

Developing the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport presented the marque renowned for impeccable automotive solutions, aesthetics and driving dynamics with a whole new set of challenges.

Significant modifications to the vehicle’s complex structure were needed to enable open-top driving. Incorporating a host of new and innovative safety and equipment features, the world’s fastest and most exciting roadster is even greater than before. It is immediately recognizable by its slightly higher windscreen, stylized daylights and lightweight, transparent polycarbonate roof.

The main challenge when developing the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport with its removable hard-top roof resulted from the unique structure of the Veyron. An optimum combination of rigidity and lightweight engineering ensured an extremely strong but very lightweight passenger cell.

As the roof was an integral part of the vehicle’s structure, removing it meant the load paths had to be completely redesigned to maintain the vehicle’s rigidity and safety during crashes – and the car needed to offer additional protection from side impacts and rolling. As a result, the monocoque structure was reinforced around the side skirts and the transmission tunnel.

The doors of the Grand Sport are made of carbon fibre, and house an integrated longitudinal beam. In the event of an accident, this transfers the load from the A to the B-pillar, thereby dissipating impact energy.

Furthermore, the two redesigned air intakes for the 16-cylinder mid-engine now feature 10-centimetre-wide carbon-fibre elements to offer protection in the event of a roll.
The panorama roof gives both the driver and passenger a comprehensive all-round view and creates the impression of a spacious interior. In warmer climates, the polycarbonate roof offers protection against solar radiation.

When the roof is on, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport can reach a top speed of 407 km/h, while speeds of up to 360 km/h are possible with the roof off. Should it rain, an innovative soft-top roof, like an umbrella, stored in the luggage compartment, can be opened up easily at any time. When this soft-top roof is on, the car can travel at up to 160 km/h.

The interior features moisture-resistant backstitched leather and a range of new equipment, including a reversing camera with a 2.7-inch monitor integrated in the rear-view-mirror, and a “Puccini” sound system with digital signal processor, especially developed for open-top driving.

More than just an open-top Veyron
“When I had the chance to test-drive the new Grand Sport for the first time, I was filled with excitement,” said Pierre-Henri Raphanel, Bugatti’s pilote officiel, “as soon as I shifted into second gear, I immediately knew this was a completely different car. Even with the roof on, the driving experience was more intense – I could feel it in my fingertips and at the base of my spine. The car was more precise with less understeer, almost as if you had taken some filters away from the suspension and the steering.” The former Le Mans winner has probably driven more kilometres in a Veyron than anyone else, presenting the car to numerous customers and the press. “I never imagined that the driving experience could be improved so much,” he said. When the roof is off, the sound of the engine, mixed with the sound of the road and the wind, creates more excitement and gives the driver the unique cabriolet feeling. “And when you hear the air intakes sucking heavily with a slurping sound behind your neck, you think you’re about to be launched out of the car!” he laughs.

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport 16.4 will be assembled by hand at the company’s headquarters in Molsheim, France over the next few years. The standard version costs 1.4 million euros (excluding taxes and delivery). Bugatti offers many ways to customize it.

Most of the rumors in the automotive world turn out to be true, so the answer to the question above is yes, Bugatti is working on a successor for the mighty Veyron. Based on unofficial reports, the new Bugga will be an evolution of the current Supersport model, lighter and more powerful.

Apparently the target for the new Bugatti Veyron is 270 mph top speed. The new goal is going to be accomplished mostly through lightening the car using Lamborghini know-how for lightweight materials, dominantly carbon fiber, and reducing the car’s luxury garnish. The design of the new Veyron will also be evolutionary, with better aerodynamics than before.

If it turns out to be true, you can expect the new, lighter, faster Bugatti Veyron to be launched in 2013. In that case you have to say VW and Bugatti are liers! When the first Veyron came out they used to say that making each unit of this car cost 5 times the MSRP, but they kept making it. Then they made the Grand Sport version, then the Super Sport, and now this. If they were losing money on the Veyron they must have gone bust by now!

Just the name Bugatti Veyron SuperSport makes every post interesting! And it’s doubly interesting when there’s a video of it, a review video of it to be exact. Here you can watch Chris Harris of EVO magazine as he took the Veyron SS for a spin on some beautiful B roads. That’s all very nice, but we’d love to also see how 1200 hp look like in the city, in the traffic, next to ordinary cars, to see if it overheats or if the clutch fails, you know, like a proper supercar! It’s still pretty awesome though, enjoy it.

British journal Autocar secured an exclusive test drive of the world’s, current, fastest and most expensive car, the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport. We’re talking over 2 million dollars, over 1200 horsepower, and over 285 mph top speed here. This is something you automatically want to see! If anything, you will just enjoy the looks of this unbelievable vehicle. Props to Autocar for publishing this.

You might never be able to even look at a Bugatti Veyron SuperSport, but your kid can very well own one. Amalgam Fine Collection released a 1/8 scale model of the fastest car in the world and as you can see it is awesome! Details inside and out are perfect and even the weave of carbon fiber on the body is just like the original. It is a bit pricey though, £4,325 which is about $6,680. It’d be ridiculous for a Bugatti to be cheap anyway!

Come to think of it now, if you can afford to pay nearly 7 grand to buy your kid a toy, chances are you can get a real Bugatti SS for yourself as well!

The super-awesome 1,200-hp Bugatti Veyron SuperSport made its public debut in America during Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance at the Quail Lodge. The first example of the SS which has set the world speed record of 268 mph had an orange/black theme which was not very nice to be honest, but this one features an stunning blue carbon fiber body which looks fantastic.

As it turns out Top Gear has also been involved with Buggati Veyron Supersport new landspeed record. Not that they actually did 268 mph, but they got really close to that by clocking 259.11 mph. And the man who did this is no other than Captain Slow himself James May! He had also maxed the regular Veyron on the same track a few years ago. So maybe he’s not that ‘Slow’ after all!

Apparently they’ve saved the story for the August issue of their magazine, we really hope they also bring it on TV.[Top Gear]
