As the most potent road-going variant of Chevrolet’s second hottest car, the 2017 Camaro ZL1 has already won the praise and admiration of many a journalist. Thing is though, those guys judge a car by how fast it goes in straight line and how it handles round the bends. And that’s about it. If you […]
They spent countless hours tackling the Green Hell, but it looks like Chevy engineers finally have an official Nurburgring lap time for the 2017 Camaro ZL1 they are comfortable publicizing. The time is 7:29.60 which is, of course, pretty impressive, even though some say a car with 650 hp and many high tech systems such […]
The high-performance variants of the Chevy Camaro have always been the best horsepower bargains in the market. That cannot be said of the new 2017 Camaro ZL1, since it starts at $62,135 for the coupe and $69,135 for the convertible. Mind you, no other car offers 650 horsepower for this kind of money.
Make no mistake, compared with European sports car the Chevy Camaro is still a crude, unsophisticated and rather vulgar creature. But we’d be lying if we said we are not totally hot in the trouser area for the new 2017 Camaro ZL1. Just look at the damn thing go as it tackles the ‘Ring’s bends. It […]
A couple of days ago we showed you a rendering of the upcoming 2017 Camaro ZL1 Convertible and speculated on what the high-performance drop-top might be like. Well, the car’s now gone official at the New York Auto Show, and it is every bit as awesome as we were expecting it to be.
A few days ago Chevrolet gave us the first glimpse of the new 2017 Camaro ZL1 hardtop with super aggressive look and enhanced technical specs. Inevitably, there will be a convertible version of that car in a year or so, and here’s what it may look like.
Just out of the blue Chevrolet dropped the first pictures and details of the new and thoroughly improved 2017 Camaro ZL1. It comes as a surprise because the ZL1 is a significant enough car to warrant just a little bit more hoopla. But hey, maybe they’re playing it cool.
Well it finally happened! Finally we get to see the Dodge Challenger Hellcat taking on a car it is meant to take on. We have seen tons of videos pitting the 700-hp muscle car against Euro-chic sports cars and unlikely rivals. This time though, the Hellboy is facing the Camaro ZL1, another steroid-infused muscle car.
One of the best features of the Camaro ZL1 is it Magnetic Ride Control, which is the main reason why this car handles so much better than, say, a Mustang GT500. Now Chevy naturally wants to boast that a bit, but that’s tricky, because technical stuff are boring. So they came up with this cool […]
Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas is a very interesting racing venue. To give you a good view of the track and all its bends and turns, the guys at HighTechCorvette strapped a camera on a C6 and went on for a lap. Thanks to their unique ChaseCam software, you also get all sort […]
One of the finest looking custom Camaros on display at this year’s SEMA show is the one designed by three-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart. It is interesting because this Camaro does not have any kind of crazy body kit or massive rims. But it looks really really mean, and that’s cool.
You are definitely familiar with GeigerCars, a Munich-based tuner who only works on American cars. They are now offering the new Camaro ZL1 Convertible in Germany, a tweaked version of the American muscle car with 589 horsepower, 740 Nm of torque, and an 88,900 Euros price tag.
Camaro ZL1 might not have the awesome power of the new Shelby GT500, but there’s no denying the Chevy has a more sophisticated chassis and is easier to live with everyday. Granted, that is not the reason you buy a muscle car. You buy muscle because you want power and badassery. But if you ever […]
Alright, the title sounds a bit weird, but you know what I mean. To show off the depth of engineering in the Camaro ZL1, Chevrolet made a display as you see above, and dispatched chief engineer Al Oppenheiser to explain it to us. That neat underbelly contributes greatly to the ZL1’s aerodynamic efficiency, which in […]
Hennessey was one of the first tuners to announce a tuning package for the Camaro ZL1 when it was first announced, and now as we speak they have four different kits available for the car with 650,700, 800, and a full 1000 horsepower output. In this video John Hennessey himself reviews the HPE700, goes through […]
