Acura finally revealed the production version of its new crossover, the ZDX. Hoping to become a rival for BMW X6, Acura ZDX features an identical jacked-up four-door-coupe shape as the Bimmer, but unlike the X6 which looks better at front than at the back, ZDX is much cooler from behind!! Its front-end looks a bit cramped! Equipped with all-wheel-drive system, the ZDX has a 3.7 liter V6 engine which develops 300hp. It’ll go on sale this winter.

All-New 2010 Acura ZDX Four-Door Sports Coupe Will Feature Dramatic Styling, Outstanding Performance and Advanced Technology

All-new Acura model on-sale this winter

The all-new provocative 2010 ZDX four-door sports coupe will arrive at Acura dealerships with dramatic styling, outstanding performance and the latest in advanced technology. The segment bending ZDX features stunning coupe-like styling with the added benefit of a commanding presence and flexible utility. Staying true to the prototype model that debuted at the 2009 New York Auto Show in April, the production ZDX will feature the key design highlights of a panoramic glass roof, hidden rear door handles and bold fender flares.

Along with head-turning styling, the ZDX will boast outstanding performance from its 3.7-liter V-6 engine mated to an all-new 6-speed automatic transmission. The 3.7-liter SOHC V-6 all-aluminum engine will generate 300 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque for immediate acceleration response, outstanding low- and mid-range torque and superior high-rpm power. The 6-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters gives the ZDX excellent acceleration while also enhancing fuel economy. Standard on the ZDX is Acura’s exclusive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) system. The SH-AWD® system expands the ZDX’s appeal by providing outstanding handling as well as superior all-season capability. Standard on the ZDX are 19-inch, 7-spoke alloy wheels; the largest standard wheel in the Acura lineup.

Inside, the ZDX exhibits the highest levels of refinement and sophistication. Every ZDX interior will feature a hand-stitched leather dash, panels and sculpted center console. The rich leather appointments give the ZDX a warm and inviting feeling while creating an intimate cockpit for the driver and passenger.

The ZDX’s flexible utility enables customers to have great utility coupled with sleek styling. The ZDX can seat up to five adults while maintaining a generous amount of cargo space behind the second row of seats. The cargo area can also be expanded to accommodate longer objects, such as golf bags, by removing side panels in the cargo-compartment sidewalls. As an added bonus, there is an integrated under-floor storage area.

When the ZDX goes on sale this winter, customers will have the choice of three distinct trim levels: ZDX, ZDX with Technology Package and the ultra premium, ZDX with Advance Package. Like all Acura models, the ZDX will come generously equipped from the start. The panoramic glass roof with moveable sunshades, hand-stitched leather interior, HandsFreeLink™ Bluetooth® connectivity, power tailgate, and a high powered audio system with CD player, AM/FM/XM radio and USB audio interface with iPod® integration are all standard features.

The ZDX with Technology Package adds several features including a Navigation System with Voice Recognition™, an Acura/ELS Surround® premium audio system and a new multi-view rear camera. The Advance Package boasts additional customer enhancing technologies like a blind spot information system, a Collision Mitigating Braking System™ (CMBS™), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

When the ZDX goes on-sale, it will bring a new level of prestige to the Acura lineup. The ZDX will be priced and positioned between the MDX luxury SUV and the RL luxury sedan. Pricing and additional details will be released at a later date.

Toyota RAV4 was actually the first good looking SUV by the Japanese car maker and it was an instant success when it was launched more than a decade ago. The car has has been redesigned twice during its life cycle and every time got better. Now as we approaching 2010 Toyota is preparing the new generation of RAV4. These artist renderings you see here are based on the current model and shows what might be changed in the new version. It has some styling cues from Tandra and FJ Cruiser and is getting more into crossover segment, where it will have a tough competition with cars like Nissan Murano, Hyundai Santafe and newly introduced range of crossovers by GM.

Emirates Motor Company, Mercedes benz dealer in Abu Dhabi & Al Ain launched GLK, Mercedes latest compact SUV to the regional market. It is currently available in 280 and 350 variants. both 6 cylinder, 280 produces 231hp and the famous 350 engine is clocked at 272hp for GLK.  Mercedes GLK is a fashion obsessed car, from the very first launch in a fashion show with Sex and The City stars, to the latest goodies like monochrome package Mercedes released for it, but as a car it is really one of the best quality crossovers in the market.

Chevrolet is getting ready to unveil its new Crossover  Traverse to middle east market at Abu Dhabi International Motorshow, next month. The car will be available in showrooms afterward. Traverse shares the same platform GM is using widely in numerous Crossovers in different markets such as Buick Enclave, which in this sense is pretty much identical to Traverse. Crossovers are mid-size city SUV’s which offers practicality similar to a real SUV but in a more refined car-like manner. Chevrolet Traverse is a good recipe in this term as it drives like a normal car, yet its high riding drive, roominess, luggaging and towing capability gives it the edge over a Sedan. It is powered by a 3 liter V6 engine with 313Hp.

Traverse like other CO’s by GM are a nice car, but that is not enough to sell. It still can be easily beaten by something like Nissan Morano.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The much anticipated family crossover Chevrolet Traverse is set to dazzle visitors of the 2008 Abu Dhabi International Motor Show in mid December. Hitting showroom floors in December, the Traverse is a family attitude car ideal for young families.

The Traverse drives like a regular sedan, yet offers people-hauling and cargo-carrying capabilities typically found in full size SUVs – and manages to do so with better-than-expected fuel efficiency. 

The striking design and expressive styling of the Traverse focuses on refined details with strong proportions, and it boasts the bold new global face of Chevrolet. The flush grille is bisected by the brand’s iconic cross bar, while the gold signature bow tie takes pride of place. Taut body lines and minimal overhangs convey the image of a smaller vehicle, reinforcing the Traverse’s feeling of a large vehicle that drives smaller, while tight tolerances between body components – enhanced by the vehicle’s unitised body structure, which enables wraparound fascias – emphasise a highly precise build quality.

Advanced powertrain technologies featuring a new 3.6L V-6 engine with direct injection enables a satisfying balance of great performance and fuel efficiency enabling an output of 313hp, it has excellent power and thrust. It even has the capability of towing 2,360 kg. The 3.6-litre engine is mated to the Hydra-Matic 6T75 six-speed automatic transmission, an advanced transmission with clutch-to-clutch shift operation for front- and all-wheel-drive vehicles. 

The Traverse has 360-degree safety system that helps protect passengers before, during and after a crash, including new anchor pretensions for outboard occupants. Traverse is equipped with six standard air bags: two dual-stage frontal air bags, for the driver and front passenger, two seat-mounted pelvic-thorax side-impact air bags in the first row and two head curtain side-impact air bags that cover all three seating rows. The head curtain side air bags are among the longest air bags in any production vehicle.

As part of the Safe Kids Buckle Up programme that was launched earlier this month, the Chevrolet Traverse will be available for a sneak preview at three major shopping malls in Dubai this November – Ibn Battuta Mall (6–8 November), Burjuman shopping centre (12- 15 November) and the new Dubai Mall (23-30 November). The Safe Kids Buckle Up programme highlights the importance of the use of child safety seats and the proper restraint of children in cars to reduce the number of injuries and deaths in vehicle crashes. The programme was launched in the UAE by Chevrolet/ General Motors and Safe Kids Worldwide, in partnership with the UAE National Transport Authority and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
