RENM Performance released a preview of their rather magnificent tuning package for the Lamborghini Aventador.

The full name of this car is RENM performance Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Limited Edition Corsa (LE-C), and it’s designed, according to RENM, to improve the car’s ‘corsa’ (race track) capabilities.

RENM is working on the car’s little details and refine them to make each part a little bit better in what it does. All these changes add up to significantly improve the car’s performance and drivability. The looks of the car with those exposed carbon fiber panels and big rear wing reminds us of the old Murcielago SV, which is nice.

Here’s a list of what the tuner is planning for the Aventador:

• Road/race specification inconel/titanium exhaust system, re-designed air intake, ECU recalibration resulting in a 7-10% increase in engine output;

• Light-weight carbon fiber body sections, revised aerodynamics with adjustable rear wing;

• Suspension and chassis improvements, lower ride height, r-specification tyres;

• Exclusive LE-C light weight center-lock forged wheels;

• Modified brakes with air flow inlets, rear engine cooling chambers;

• Re-designed interior with alcantara/carbon fiber sections, steering wheel, race seats and seat belts.

Although Lamborghini is still reluctant to comment on the SUV rumor that’s flying around these days, an Audi top brass steps in and confirms such car is indeed in the works.

This manager of Lamborghini’s parent company did not confirm, however, if this image you see above, published by an Italian magazine a few days ago, is the real deal or not. He could only go as far as “the speculation in the press is press is largely correct.

The Lamborghini SUV will make its world debut at the next Beijing Motor Show in China, before joining Lamborghini’s lineup of Aventador and Cabrera (Gallardo’s replacement) in three or four years time.

We would have loved to see the Estoque super sedan in production instead of this, but hey, the Lambo SUV will heat up the battle in the high-end utility segment where cars like Mercedes MLC, BMW X6, Bentley SUV, and Porsche Cayenne, as well as the new Maserati Kubang, will be competing.

Nope, it’s not a clip from last week’s Top Gear, but it is something equally awesome. This is a new internet show by Motor Trend, called the Ignition. They are starting on a high note by driving a Lamborghini Aventador at the famous Nardo test track in Italy, one of the fastest tracks in the world. Each Monday there will be a new episode, so make sure you check back!

Evo magazine’s Roger Green went to Italy to drive the latest and most extreme version of the Lamborghini Gallardo, called the STS. That’s Super Trofeo Stradale, and hints at the car’s motorsport connections. It is actually a road-going version of the Super Trofeo race car. Roger, apparently, didn’t have professional cameramen with him on this trip from Lamborghini factory to Monza race track, so he filmed the entire clip on a couple of GoPro cams and iPhones, which is kinda cool.

These pictures, published by an Italian magazine, could be the long-awaited Lamborghini Sport utility Vehicle.

They could also be some fantasy pictures to make the magazine more interesting for the readers, but the details of it seem spot on for what Lamborghini would eventually build as their new SUV.

The timing is perfect too, what with the Maserati Kubang and Bentley SUV being  just around the corner. The Lambo SUV will probably share most of its underpinnings with the Bentley, but critically the looks and the engine will be 100 per cent Lamborghini.

Lamborghini’s first attempt to make a utility with the LM002 was, to put it gently, a total failure. This though, even in the pictures, look like an instant hit. The engine most likely to be in the car, assuming it’s for real and will see production as well, is the V10 out of the current Gallardo.

Lamborghini is said to be readying a concept version of the SUV for Beijing Motor Show debut.

Lamborghini reveals how much you have to pay for the rear-drive Gallardo LP550-2, and that’s $209,000, plus $ 2,995 for destination charge and gas guzzler tax.

That’s about 20 grand less than the standard four-wheel-drive 560 Spyder. But don’t think you are getting less.

You see, the 550-2 is a drop-top version of the Balboni, unanimously considered as the best version of the Gallardo. If only it had a stripe on it.

The LP550-2, as the name indicates, has 550 hp channeled to the rear wheels via either an e-gear or a proper manual gearbox. It has a 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.2 seconds and top speed of 319 km/h.

With the omission of the front differential the car has become lighter, but it does lose some of its grip as well. That should make it more fun to drive. A bit less poised and precise, but more fun.

Robert Himler, the twin-turbo Gallardo man, released a new video of his car having a bit of fun with a mate’s Aventador. While a normal, standard Lamborghini Gallardo doesn’t stand a chance against the 700-hp Aventador, the big monster loses to Himler’s car, partly because the Aventa is brand-new and the owner didn’t want to push it, and partly because, well, that green beast is a UR-tuned twin-turbo Galla with 975 hp. It’s a cool video. Not sure if their night run was completely legal, but hey, it’s fun to break the rules every once in a while!

Reiter, as you may know, is an expert in turning Lambo Gallardos into racing machines. This is their 2012 GT3 car dubbed the LP600+.

Their focus with the new car is endurance racing, long-distance 24-hour endurance racing to be more precise. Trophy and GT cups are all fun, but Reiter now wants to take things to the next level by entering endurance series. That’s what customers want too.

The 2012 car looks as good as ever, and features a revised and bigger air splitter and new double dive plates at front.

Technical changes have been more thorough, as the car gets a new Holinger gearbox specifically calibrated for this car, AP Racing brakes with six-piston calipers and new coolant system for more durability, and a revised racing suspension setup promising even more grip than before.

Those fancy racing with this 600 PS V10-powered Lambo should get in touch with Reiter Engineering with a check for around 300,000 EUR.

The crazy Lamborghini man Robert Himler released a new video of an insane raging bull. This time it’s not his twin-turbo baby, but a friend’s heavily-modded Murci. The absolute highlight of all the mods on this car is, of course, the completely custom straight pipe exhaust. No mufflers, no cats, just a pipe from the engine. And you can clearly hear, the result is, well, earth-shattering. It revs at 142dB.

Wonder what his neighbors think of this guy. Bet it isn’t good. I mean you fire up this thing in Mojave desert, you gonna wake everyone up in Las Vegas, so…

The Japanese tuner Liberty Walk appears to have one expertise only: making the coolest Lamborghinis in the world.

LW’s president Kato San seems to have an obsession with Lambos, and Murcielagos in particular. I mean just check out that Murci quad, it’s insane!

Now, we’re not big fans of Japanese tuning, but Liberty Walk definitely has a great taste in aesthetics. And it’s not just styling where they excel. There’s more to these cars than just some brash color, big wheels, and extremely suspension.

The latest V12 Lamborghini supercar might have gone a bit soft and cuddly, and it might not be just as thrilling to drive as the old ones, but there’s no getting away from the fact that it is a technological masterpiece. In this video German magazine Sport Auto takes the car to the Hockenheim Ring and on the straight it does 370 km/h without breaking a sweat. That’s mind-bogglingly fast. 370 is what the speedo said mind you, the GPS apparently showed 354 km/h. Still, pretty amazing.

The Lamborghini Project, by Canadian company Media Merchants specializing in projection based technologies, is one of the coolest videos you are going to see this year, quite possibly! And it doesn’t really have anything to do with the car, an ultra-rare Lamborghini Reventon. It just sits in the studio acting as a canvas while Media Merchant guys play their magic on it. It is simply epic.

Latest reports from Sant’Agata suggest that the drop-top version of Lamborghini Aventador will make its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

The dust still hasn’t completely settled on the hard-top, but looks like Lamborghini is in a rush to get the roadster out as well. That said, from debut in Geneva to market launch can be a year or so.

Details? Well, still not much. But TeamSpeed sources say the roof on the Avantador Roadster is much better than the one on the Murcielago Roadster, both in design and the way it’s operated. The Murci’s roof wasn’t so much a roof as a tent. It was so hellishly hard to put on that in case of a sudden rain you’d prefer to get showered than having to deal with its bits and pieces!

One thing’s clear though, the fact that Lamborghini Aventador Roadster will be desperately pretty with the roof down (picture above is a rendering).

SuperTrodeo Stradale is the last of the Gallardo breed, unless Lamborghini decides to add yet another model to the Gallardo’s large family before letting it go. It is a limited edition version based on the racing version of the car with massive wings and spoilers, and a 570-hp V10 engine. The video after the jump, filmed at the Trofeo’s natural habitat, will give you a good idea of what this car is for and what it’s best at.

Yep, it’s Marchettino again coming up with a great supercar video, this time featuring no other than everyone’s favorite Lamborghini Aventador. He’s been down to an amazing event full of raging bulls, and filmed the car as it hits the track with a Lamborghini test drive behind the wheel. You know many people say the Aventador has gone soft and cuddly? Well, if you know how to engage it in a fight, it can still kill you.

Driving a Lamborghini in the olden days used to a bit like manhandling a raging bull. Getting it off the line properly for example was something that only the best of test drivers were capable of. These days though, thanks to the computers and stuff even a 12-year old can get behind the wheel and hit 0 to 100 km/h in just over 3 seconds.

All he has to do is pressing the launch control button and keep his foot on the loud pedal. That’s both good and bad. Good because Lambos are now easier to drive which means you can enjoy them more, for more of the time, and bad because it’s not just as rewarding as when you are on your own facing a couple of hundred angry stallions!

Those mad enough to spend $11 mil on a gold SLR might also want to get this $4.6 mil model car to go with it.

This is a golden version of the Lamborghini Aventador scale model by German model maker Robert Wilhelm Gülpen. The normal carbon fiber model costs, for reasons we can’t quite understand, a whopping €255,000 or pretty much the same as a real Lamborghini.

This one though comes with lots of gold and more than 1400 precious stones including diamond lights. The material alone cost in excess of $3 million, the rest is apparently for the work Robert has put in.

The model car will be auctioned off, so it might fetch even more than the stated price. They are going to donate half a million euro of the proceedings to charity, so it’s not all bad!

Most people would be chuffed to bits to get their hands on a stock Lamborghini Aventador. But already Lamborghini of Newport Beach is thinking of those who might not be so easily satisfied. They’ve come up with the first aftermarket exhaust for the Aventador, to make its bark even louder and nastier. The video after the jump will give you a taste of what they’re proposing.

Lamborghini Gallardo has been with us for over a decade now but we are not tired of it yet. They just announced a new version of it at Los Angeles Motor Show.

It’s the long rumored Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder, a rear-drive sort of Balboni version of the Spyder. Lamborghini people say it’s the swan song for the Gallardo, but even they don’t believe that. Who cares anyway. It’s brilliant.

The car is powered by a detuned version of Gallardo’s V10 with 550 hp and an e-gear transmission. Don’t worry, you can’t have it with a proper manual as well.

With the conversion from 4 to 2-wheel-drive the Gallardo loses some of its grip, but then make up for it with a new ESP program that controls the car’s behavior in normal mode, and let it become a lairy beast in CORSA mode. The LP550-2 will be more fun to drive than normal models as a result.

Because of the rear-drive setup the car is also lighter than the standard Gallardo, so despite the lower power it’s still pretty fast with a 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.2 seconds and top speed of 319 km/h.

Visually the car is the same as the normal Spyder and don’t get any special treatment. We think it could do with a nice stripe, but then people would mistake it for the Performante!

The last hurrah for Lamborghini Gallardo will be a lightened rear-wheel drive 550 version.

Throughout the years there have been many versions of the Gallardo, all of them great because it was a great car itself. We had the Coupe, Spyder, Superleggera, LP560-4, LP560-4 Spyder, LP550-2 Valentino Balboni, LP570-4 Superleggera, and more recently the LP570-4 Performante and Trofeo Strafale.

Now it seems the Italian car maker wants to give the car a proper sendoff with a back to basics rear-drive version of the Spyder. The Balboni Gallardo is the other RWD variant of the car, but that was a limited edition.

This new Spyder though won’t get any special visual features, like wings and stripes and stuff. It will be about 30 kg lighter than the normal car and will be powered by Balboni’s 550 hp engine.

The Gallardo Spyder RWD probably won’t be as poised and precise as the 4WD version, but exactly because of that it’ll be more fascinating, more fun to drive.

The Gallardo will be replaced a few years with an all-new model called the Cabrera.
