Maserati GranCabrio by Fendi was the most attractive item at the Italian car maker’s booth at Frankfurt Motor Show. This bespoke and exquisite Masser is designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi to celebrate shared qualities between the two Italian brands. This is a lavish product with only style and aesthetics in mind, and offers a great combination of special materials and unique colors. Maserati has teamed up with another Italian fashion brand, to present the GranCabrio by Fendi. The unique Masser will debut in Frankfurt next month.

Designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, the car celebrates common values between the two brands, such as craftsmanship and tradition. The main features include an exclusive exterior color, redesigned interior, new wheels, and of course  lots of Fendi badges.

Maserati GranCabrio by Fendi is painted in a three-layered body colour named Grigio Fiamma Fendi, which is a special dark grey with an iridescent golden finish on the surface. The pictures don’t judge it of course, you have to see it in person.

There is also wood trim Pergamena Fendi that runs across the width of the dashboard, on the doors and on the top of the gear lever, all in the iconic FENDI yellow, like the brake callipers and the embroidered yellow trident on the headrests.

What’s more you also get Fendi’s Cuoio Romano leather from Selleria line on the instrument cluster cover, for the gear lever and for the profile of the floor mats.

You will find FENDI’s unmistakable double F logo, stitched on the seat, also appearing in the centre of the 19-inch alloy wheels, and the FENDI logo along the rocker panel. But that’s not all, there is also a silver oval plaque with the engraving of the Maserati Trident, Fendi logo and the 5-digit series number (five being an iconic number for Fendi) located on the dashboard, in front of the passenger seat, and on both sides of the black cloth folding roof.

It even comes with a black car cover with ton-sur-ton double F logo! That’s a lot of logos, but hey, Fendi is cool, isn’t it.

Maserati GranCabrio Fendi is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 engine and comes with an automatic transmission.

Maserati UK confirmed pricing of the RHD GranCabrio Sport ahead of the car’s scheduled market launch in October. And it’s a whopping £102,615 OTR.

The Sport is a harder version of the GranCabrio which is a fabulous drop-top long distance cruiser, but a bit too soft and wobbly for driving enthusiasts. The Sport should address that with the Skyhook active-suspension system which has been revised to grant a sportier feel and so has the braking system which features grooved and drilled dual-cast brake discs.

Thecar’s got a 4.7-litre V8 with 331 kW (450 HP) and a maximum torque of 510Nm at 4750 rpm, mated to a ZF six-speed automatic transmission with the super-fast MC Auto Shift software. It does 0-100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) sprint in 5.2s and can reach a top speed of 285 km/h (177 mph).

The Sport also gets new exhaust system with valves in it that flick open at high rpm, making a loud barking noise.

GranCabrio Sport also gets revised looks, with black grille featuring a Trident with red accents to the black look headlights with white sidemarks, as well as redesigned side skirts, black oval exhaust tips and 20” Astro-design wheels. Inside the cabin you get newly designed seats and driver-focused contents such as longer Trofeo-design gear-shift paddles and drilled aluminium pedals.

There are new colors as well, a Rosso Trionfale red inspired by racing cars of 1950s for the exterior, and Bianco Pregiato, a brilliant ivory shade; and Grigio Chrono, a sporty, dark tone of grey for interior leather.

Italian tuner Novitec Tridente this time took on the gorgeous Maserati GranCabrio drop-top and added a whole lot of power to its beauty.

The standard GranCabrio is a soft and cozy kind of car suitable for long distance cruising in peace and comfort. Novitec’s Maser does that, but it’s also good at fun and games. And that’s mainly due to the naughty things they’ve done to the engine.

They’ve used the same supercharger kit they offer for the GranTurismo and Quattroporte, combined with a custom intake manifold and larger injectors, which turn the power of 4.7-liter V8 engine by 150 hp / 110 kW to 590 hp / 434 kW at 7,300 rpm and the torque from 490 Nm to 572 Nm at 5,400 rpm. Performance-wise, the car does 0 – 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and the top speed is 301 km/h instead of the standard 283 m/h.

The car also comes with fully stainless-steel exhaust system featuring four tailpipes with diameters of 90 millimeters and is available with or without control flap that allows the driver to choose what kind of soundtrack he wants at the touch of a button.

Novitec Tridente Maserati GranCabrio also sports a very discrete body kit with front spoiler, carbon-fiber radiator grille surround, rocker panel trim, rear spoiler lip and a diffuser for the standard bumper. As for the wheels, it comes with 21- and 22-inch alloy wheels for front and rear axles fitted with Pirelli P Zero high-performance tires. What’s more you also get adjustable suspension which can lower the car by up to 40mm. A custom interior treatment with the finest leather or Alcantara in any desired color finishes off the package.

This tuning kit for Maserati GranCabrio is awesome, but it’s also costly. That engine treatment alone for example costs nearly 20,000 Euro.

Maserati just announced a new version of the GranCabrio to be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Maserati GranCabrio Sport is a harder-edged model of the GT with a more powerful engine and better handling.

The all-alloy 4.7-litre V8 engine in this car develops 331 kW (450 horsepower) and has 510 Nm. Thanks to Maserati’s Friction Reduction Program they’ve achieved 6 percent reduction in fuel consumption and better responsiveness and performance with top speed of 285 km/h.

GranCabrio Sport also benefits form a new ZF six-speed automatic transmission equipped with the super-fast MC Auto Shift software. It also gets an upgrade and revision of the Skyhook active-suspension system – now with a sportier tuning – and the adoption of grooved and drilled dual-cast brake discs.

Visually the GranCabrio Sport features a a black grille and a Trident with red accents. The headlights now have a black look with white sidemarks, while front corner splitters and the redesigned side skirts are both body coloured. The car also comes with a new body color called Rosso Trionfale inspired by the red Italian national colours used on 1950s racing Maseratis.

The car will go on sale from Summer 2011. Pricing will be announced later.

Maserati GranTurismo Convertible – or GranCabrio in Europe – was introduced to the American market in March, and it’s already been sold out. The gorgeous Italian Grand Tourer has a rather hefty price tag of nearly 140,000 USD, but despite that Maserati managed to sell 558 units of it in like ten months. The drove the 2010 sales up by 48 percent. In 2010 Maserati sold 1,717 vehicles in America. In 2009 and in the midst of the economic downturn this number was 1,275 units.

The Maserati GranCabrio, or GranTurismo Convertible if you are an American, is not that new. The car made its debut months ago, but we don’t mind watching new videos of this gorgeous Italian GT over and over again! And here’s the latest one which is released to kinda make the hype as the GranCabrio prepares for its Asian debut at the 2010 Beijing motorshow.

German suspension professional H&R released a new kit for the truly awesome Maserati GranCabrio (or GranTurismo Convertible!). Apparently they have realized that the only flaw in the Masser’s celestial design is the gap between the wheels and the arches! So they filled that space using special springs which reduce the ride height by 35 mm. They say it has no impact on ride comfort.

As usual H&R also provides different sets of their special wheel spacers for perfect fitment.

With his new team Fernando Alsono, who by the way won the inaugural GP in Bahrain last week, is also upgrading his lifestyle. Or at least he has to! He swaps his crappy Renault Megane he used to drive when he was driving for Renault F1, for a brand-new, shiny and exclusive Maserati GranCabrio in Grigio Granito finish. Good for him! This is one helluva nice ride!

A Maserati GranCabrio for Fernando Alonso

The two-times Formula One World Champion Fernando Alonso, driver of Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, has “unveiled” in Fiorano the Maserati GranCabrio that he has selected.

The Spanish driver has chosen for the GranCabrio elegant fixtures, preferring a darker shade for the exterior in combination with two-tone upholstery for the interior. Grigio Granito is the colour of the body, while the interior has a combination of Pearl Beige and Bordeaux leather, matching a soft top of the same shade.

The GranCabrio represents the synthesis of Maseratis in terms of top down models. It is a Maserati in the purest sense of the term: from the unmistakable style of Pininfarina to the craftsmanship of every detail, from the pleasure of driving to top performance – assured by a V8 engine of 4.7 liters and 440 hp with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Fernando Alonso was particularly impressed by the space offered by the GranCabrio, perfect for four adult passengers. The GranCabrio is in fact the first four-seat convertible in the history of Maserati.

To emphasize the link with the Maserati tradition, the roof of the GranCabrio is strictly canvas. Available in six colours, perfectly integrated into the design of the car, it folds up in only 20 seconds (28 seconds including the movement of the four independent windows).

The Maserati GranCabrio is being marketed throughout Europe starting in this month of March.

As you know the drop-top version of the amazing Maserati GranTurismo is called the GranCabrio in Europe, but in the U.S. they call it simply GranTurismo Convertible. Don’t know why, maybe GranCabrio doesn’t sound so good with American accent! Anyhow, you can order this beautiful at all Maserati dealers in North America for $135,800 but don’t expect to see it in your garage until Spring.

Maserati GranTurismo Convertible is powered by a 4.7 liter V8 with 433 hp and comes with a six-speed automatic gearbox. It features a soft top and has four full seats inside. But the best thing about it is indeed the swell Pininfarina design which looks impossibly pretty from every angle. You have to see it live as the pictures cannot describe it. This design alone worth the MSRP of $135,800, which by the way does not include taxes, title and other fees!

The hard top version of Maserati GranTurismo has been around for a few years now, but the company has just revealed the drop-top variant, called GranCabrio, at this years IAA a month ago and they are still reluctant to let it out! Today, they announced the official pricing of the car in market British market where sales start from April 2010. Apparently the GranCabrio comes only in one trim for £95,630 (OTR). For the same sort of money you can have the Merc SL63 AMG with 520 hp, but honestly the Maser looks much much nicer!

The all-new drop-top version of the Maserati GranTurismo made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show and is now getting ready to take the markets by storm as its pricing is revealed. Called the GranCabrio, this swell four-seater luxury car will go on sale in Europe form February 2010 starting at €132,770. In America it will be simply called GranTurismo Spyder!

This topless Maser GT is a very fine combination of sportiness, luxury, and comfort presented in an amazing shape. Powered by a 4.7 liter V8 engine coupled to an automatic gearbox, the GranCabrio has 440 hp and 490 nm of torque, which in terms of performance translates into 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 4.5 seconds and top speed of 283 km/h.

Undoubtedly Maserati GranCabrio, the drop-top version of the GranTurismo, is one of the best looking cars of 2010. And during its UK premiere, this gorgeous Italian has found its perfect match as it was unveiled by the supermodel, car nut and Maserati ambassador Jodie Kidd. It will go on sale in April next year.

The GranCabrio is a four-seater convertible with a folding fabric roof and is powered by the same 440hp 4.7 liter V8 engine as in the coupe model.

A breathtaking spectacle at London’s Royal Horticultural Halls was put on to greet the arrival of Maserati’s latest creation: the GranCabrio.

Andrea Antonnicola, Managing Director of Maserati GB and supermodel and Maserati ambassador Jodie Kidd started the unveiling ceremony in spectacular fashion: as the lights dimmed, two models, whose dresses’ silk train had been draped over the sinuous lines of the Pininfarina designed vehicle, started to walk and the GranCabrio was free to dazzle the guests.

“I am extremely proud of hosting this UK Premiere of the Maserati GranCabrio – said Antonnicola – a car which has been enthusiastically received by the worldwide media after its debut at the Frankfurt Show just a couple of weeks ago. The new GranCabrio represents the completion of the Maserati range, and despite a long history of convertible cars going back over 50 years, with the iconic Mistral and Ghibli Spyder to name but a few, this is the first four-seater convertible for the Trident Marque.”

The event saw more than 400 guests attend, including celebrity chef and Maserati aficionado James Martin, London Saracens rugby star Fabio Ongaro, comedian Patrick Kielty, Major Phil Packer, Vice-president of CNH Global Eduardo Teodorani Fabbri and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.

A Maserati GranTurismo S was also on display, and it was flanked by a stunning 1964 Maserati Mistral Spyder.The first right-hand drive examples of the Maserati GranCabrio will reach the UK showrooms in April 2010 and prices will be confirmed nearer the release date.

As a test mule, this car holds the record for the ugliest camouflage ever to be put on a car! But now that the cover is gone, we just want to spend hours after hours adoring it! As it turned out the Gran Turismo is much better looking topless! I have seen Angelina Jolie in the same condition (who hasn’t!) and I got to say the Maser is prettier!

This is just a sneak preview before Maserati release the full details on the gorgeous car at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. But one thing is clear, the GranCabrio is a four-seater and features a soft top, so all the rumors about the folding metal roof were just a bunch of gibberish!

The GranCabrio is powered by a 4.7 litre V8, 323 kW engine and is the convertible with the longest wheelbase on the market. This is a swell car, however Maserati seems to be a bit carried away! Check this out from their press release:
