<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><a id="more-23313"></a></strong>The location where he will attempt to beat the current record of 8,000 ft is a narrow perimeter track at Brooklands in Surrey, UK. The target is 10,000 ft or nearly 2 miles, which means he&#8217;s going to have to maintain the powersilde for 12 laps, or four minutes, in third gear, at 55 mph! A very tall order even in a car as tail-happy as the E63!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">These AMG cars are actually the perfect tool for such a task. Once you switch the traction control off, the tail slides wide in every corner even on partial throttle. That&#8217;s what make them so much fun. Not particularly fast around a track, but fun. Can&#8217;t wait to see the results. Calo is 100 percent confident he can do it.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong><a id="more-22445"></a></strong>The E63 Wagon is such a sweet car because it&#8217;s so practical you can use it as a delivery car, so comfortable you can use it as an everyday family car, and it just happens to go like the clappers. Before this the car used to get a 6.2 liter V8, but this yer Mercedes is offering the newer, more efficient 5.5-liter twin-turbo direct-injection V8 engine with 518 hp, 516 lb-ft of torque.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">It also can be had with ECO Stop/Start technology mated to the AMG 7-speed MCT and the new 19-inch AMG 10-spoke wheels. Optional Performance Packages is also available to raise the power to 550hp/590lb-ft in case the standard is not enough for you. The car also features a panoramic roof which boosts it appeal as a family bus.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The thing is, you never buy an estate because you want one, but because you need one. And those who &#8216;need&#8217; a wagon out practicality at the top of their list. Given the choice we would go for the sedan E63 every time.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>A few days ago we told you about the <a href="http://www.motorward.com/2011/04/mercedes-e63-amg-now-with-5-5-liter-biturbo-v8/">new version of Mercedes E63 AMG</a> which gets the new 5.5 liter BiTurbo V8 instead of the old 6.3 unit. Now the company released full details of the car.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><a id="more-21933"></a></strong>Launching this model is part of the &#8220;AMG Performance 2015&#8243; model strategy which is ought to make their cars more efficient thorough downsizing, using technologies such as turbocharging and start/stop, and if necessary even hybrids.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">If we get straight to the facts and figures, this engine has 5461 cc, eight-cylinder and a peak output of <strong>386 kW</strong> (525 hp) and torque of 700 Nm. Fit it with the 8000 Euro AMG Performance Pack and it makes <strong>410 kW</strong> (557 hp) and 800 Nm. That means zero to 100 km/h takes 4.3 and 4.2 seconds respectively (Estate: 4.4 and  4.3 seconds), and the top speed is 250 km/h (electronically limited). It does that while averaging 9.8 litres per 100 kilometres according to NEDC combined, with  CO2 emissions of 230 grams per kilometre (Estate: 10.0 l/100 km; 234  g/km).</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The car gets the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission with Controlled Efficiency (&#8220;C&#8221;) mode in addition to the &#8220;S&#8221; (Sport), &#8220;S+&#8221; (Sport plus) and &#8220;M&#8221; (Manual).</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Looks-wise the car is unchanged over the 6.3 except for the new SLS wheels and the V8 Biturbo lettering on the wings. Inside the cabin, in line with other new AMG cars like the CLS63, it gets a a three-spoke steering wheel with flattened top and bottom, aluminium shift paddles, the perforated leather in the grip areas and  the three-dimensional design of the airbag cover with its &#8220;Silver  Shadow&#8221; metallic trim element, plus the iconic E-SELECT shift lever with embossed AMG badge.</p>

Apart from the fact the 6.3 liter engine makes a better noise, the newer, more powerful and more efficient unit is the one to have if you are looking for a serious performance machine.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">With the turbo engine the car can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and, when fitted with AMG performance pack, do 300 km/h.It also helps at the pumps as it has fuel consumption of under 10liter/100 km. Of course that doesn&#8217;t really matter because in the real world you will be struggling to do even half of what they claim!</p>

<p>The  E 63 AMG distinguishes itself from the standard E-Class models with the  powerful AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine, the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports  suspension with electronically controlled damping and a new front axle,  and also with its unique exterior and interior design. A newly developed  ceramic composite braking system is also optionally available for the  top-of-the-range E-Class model. Thanks to the concerted use of fuel  efficiency measures, Mercedes-AMG has achieved a reduction in fuel  consumption by almost twelve percent in the E 63 AMG. The AMG 6.3-litre  V8 engine in the E 63 AMG develops an output of 386 kW (525 hp) and a  torque of 630 newton metres, matching the outstanding figures for the SL  63 AMG. The high-performance roadster has also donated its AMG  SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission to the E 63 AMG. This  transmission dispenses with a conventional torque converter and uses a  compact, wet start-up clutch. In conjunction with the four individual  drive modes, the double-declutching and RACE START functions, the  resulting direct connection to the powertrain allows an extremely  emotional and highly dynamic driving experience, which can be adapted  conveniently at the touch of a button.<br />
The drive unit is unique in  this segment, and ensures decidedly sporty performance figures: the E 63  AMG accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, with  a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). The high-revving,  naturally aspirated engine with a displacement of 6208 cc impresses with  its agile responsiveness, muscular power delivery and great  flexibility. The V8 sound is a thrilling accompaniment for mile after  mile, while the smooth-running engine guarantees typical Mercedes  long-distance comfort. An extremely high-performance water cooling  system ensures maximum endurance even under the enormous dynamic  stresses of the racetrack.</p>

<p>Despite 8 kW (11  hp) of additional output versus the preceding model, the fuel  consumption of the E 63 AMG has been significantly reduced: at 12.6  litres of super-premium grade petrol per 100 kilometres (NEDC combined),  the fuel consumption of the E 63 AMG is almost twelve percent lower  than before, and leads the field among sports saloons developing more  than 377 kW (500 hp). This progress has been made possible by a package  of efficiency-enhancing measures. These include on-demand delivery of  fuel and generator management with recuperation of braking energy on the  overrun, both of which are standard in the E 63 AMG. In-engine friction  is also reduced by the AMG-exclusive twin-wire arc spray coating  process used on the cylinder walls.</p>
<p>The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT  7-speed sports transmission also makes a decisive contribution to fuel  economy: a wet start-up clutch running in an oil bath replaces the  previous torque converter. This unit responds extremely rapidly,  dynamically and without the losses typical of a torque converter  transmission thanks to its low rotational inertia. The transmission is  equipped with four drive modes: &#8220;C&#8221; (Controlled Efficiency), &#8220;S&#8221;  (Sport), &#8220;S+&#8221; (Sport plus) and &#8220;M&#8221; (Manual), which can be selected using  a rotary electronic switch in the AMG DRIVE UNIT. Partial suppression  of individual cylinders by interrupting ignition and injection briefly  during gearshifts under full load leads to considerably faster shift  times. In S+ and M modes, the 7-speed sports transmission allows  gearshifts to be performed in 100 milliseconds.<br />
In the even more  fuel-efficient Controlled Efficiency drive mode, the transmission shifts  the gears decidedly smoothly, and the transmission control unit is  programmed to perform early upshifts to keep engine speeds as low as  possible. At the same time the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports  transmission meets the most demanding requirements where driving  dynamics are concerned: fast, spontaneous multiple downshifts ensure  first-class agility in conjunction with the automatic double-declutching  and RACE START functions: this enables the driver of the E 63 AMG to  call on the maximum acceleration potential automatically.</p>

<p>Sporty or more  comfort-oriented? The driver of the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG is not  obliged to accept any compromises in this respect. The AMG RIDE CONTROL  sports suspension copes equally well with the agile manoeuvres of the  racetrack and more comfortable, sedate driving. High performance and  typical Mercedes long-distance comfort go together as an extraordinary  synthesis in the E 63 AMG. While steel spring struts are used on the  front axle, the rear suspension features AMG-specific air springs. The  advantage of this solution, which is exclusive to AMG, is that the front  steel spring struts ensure more sensitive responses while the rear air  struts, with their automatic level control system, keep the vehicle at a  constant height irrespective of the load.<br />
An electronically  controlled damping system automatically varies the damping  characteristics according to the driving situation, reducing the roll  angle of the body. The result is instant adjustment to provide the best  possible ride comfort together with the greatest possible agility. In  addition, the driver is able to choose between the three suspension  modes of Comfort, Sport and Sport plus at the touch of a button. The E  63 AMG is also equipped with a dedicated front axle with a 56-millimetre  wider track, a tubular stabiliser, new control arms, new wheel  bearings, new elastokinematics and new hub carriers for more negative  camber – thereby providing more grip when taking bends at speed. The  AMG-specific kinematics also ensure significantly more precision. This  is a highly sophisticated axle design whose principle has already proved  its worth in the C 63 AMG. The rear axle likewise has more negative  camber, optimised elastokinematics and a new subframe mounting for  greater stability at the physical limits.</p>

<p>Direct  responsiveness comes courtesy of the speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion  steering. The steering ratio of 14:1 is 22 percent more direct than in  the standard production models, while a more rigid steering column plus  the characteristic mapping of the speed-sensitive servo assistance  ensure better steering precision and improved road contact.<br />
The  3-stage ESP® familiar from the SL 63 AMG and C 63 AMG enables individual  settings to be selected – with clear benefits in terms of driving  pleasure combined with the same, high level of handling safety. The ESP®  button in the AMG DRIVE UNIT allows the driver to choose between &#8220;ESP  ON&#8221;, &#8220;ESP SPORT&#8221; and &#8220;ESP OFF&#8221; – with the currently active mode shown in  the central display of the instrument cluster. Perfect deceleration  even when driving extremely briskly is ensured by the AMG  high-performance braking system with 360-millimetre, internally  ventilated and perforated brake discs all-round. Particularly resistant,  motorsports-tested composite technology is used at the front axle.<br />
The  optional ceramic composite brakes with even larger brake discs  guarantee even better braking performance. The ceramic brake discs  perform reliably at even higher operating temperatures thanks to their  greater hardness, all combined with an impressive weight reduction of  around 40 percent. Outstanding grip is ensured by the AMG light-alloy  wheels with tyres of sizes 255/40 R 18 at the front and 285/35 R 18 at  the rear.</p>

<p>The decidedly dynamic  design of the E 63 AMG is fully in keeping with the uncompromisingly  sporty technology. The front aspect is characterised by 17-millimetre  wider wings bearing &#8220;6.3 AMG&#8221; lettering, the AMG front apron with large  intake air apertures and the AMG-specific daytime driving lights in LED  technology. In conjunction with the optional Intelligent Light System  (ILS), the E 63 AMG is equipped with tinted main headlamps. The striking  visual presence is further enhanced by the side sill panels and rear  apron with a black insert. As a hallmark of the brand, the sports  exhaust system has two chrome-plated twin tailpipes.<br />
The interior of  the E 63 AMG is an exciting blend of high-grade materials and functional  sportiness. Exclusive features include the dedicated, electrically  adjustable sports seats with improved lateral support and the sports  steering wheel in a four-spoke design with shift paddles. The AMG DRIVE  UNIT provides adjustments for the MCT sports transmission, the ESP®  functions, the suspension set-up and the AMG drive modes. The E-SELECT  selector lever in the centre console enables the driver to shift  directly between R, N and D simply by nudging the lever, all thanks to  drive-by-wire, while the parking lock P can only be selected by pressing  a separate button. The COMAND APS multimedia  system (from 3046.40 euros) comes with the latest maps free of charge  over a period of three years in 39 European countries. Mercedes-Benz  partners are able to carry out map updates on the navigation system  during dealership visits. Thanks to the new free map updates, Mercedes  drivers using the COMAND APS will be able to reach their destination  more reliably and quicker.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong><a id="more-10368"></a></strong>The E63 AMG has now feature a mean dark theme for the exterior thanks to the blacked-out VATH kit consisting of a new grille, carbon front spoiler, boot spoiler lip and a carbon diffuser. Moreover, they have lowered the car&#8217;s Airmatic suspension by 30mm, increasing both the visual appeal and road holding.E63&#8242;s cabin is also garnished with a carbon interior set and velour floor mats with the embroidered VATH logo.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The braking system is also upgraded with 390 mm brake discs and with 8 pistons fixed caliper. These massive brakes are here for a reason!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The mighty engine of the Mercedes E63 is also tricked out by VATH technicians. The modifications special forged pistons, valves, sports cam shafts, as well as big intake and exhaust valves. In addition, the crank drive has been improved, the cylinder head channels have been enlarged by milling and engine software has been updated.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Therefore it generates 605 hp and 690 nm of torque. The top speed is also increased to 340 km/h, while the 0 to 100 km/h is decreased to 4.1 seconds.</p>

<p>The normally aspirated 6.3 liter V8 of the E63 AMG develops 525hp. In the Brabus B63 S, thanks to a light upgrade kit it churns out 555 hp / 408 kW and 650 Nm/479 lb-ft. The conversion consists of two sport air filters, free-flow metal catalysts and newly programmed engine electronics.</p>

It develops 525 hp and 630 nm of torque and is connected to a seven speed SPEEDSHIFT MCT gearbox, like the one in the SL model, which means this heavy car can rocket to 100kmh from stand still in just 4.6 seconds but the top speed as usual is limited to 250 km/h.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Despite this superior performance Merc E63 AMG uses only 12.8 liter of fuel per 100 km which considering what this car is capable of, is really really good. The car is also equipped with the newly developed AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension, to make sure the car handles like a proper performance car without any compromise on comfort.</p>

<p>&#8220;The E 63 AMG will distinguish itself from regular E-Class models with its powerful AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine, the newly developed AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with electronically controlled damping and a new front axle, and with its stand-out exterior and interior design,&#8221; said Frank Bernthaler, Director, Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East &amp; Levant.</p>
<p>Under the bonnet, the AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine develops 525 hp and a torque of 630 newton metres allowing the car to accelerate from 0 &#8211; 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.</p>
<p>With clear benefits in terms of driving pleasure combined with the same, high level of handling safety, the E 63 AMG offers the three-stage ESP<sup>®</sup> familiar from the SL 63 AMG and C 63 AMG enabling individual settings to be selected. The ESP<sup>®</sup> button in the AMG DRIVE UNIT allows the driver to choose between &#8220;ESP ON&#8221;, &#8220;ESP SPORT&#8221; and &#8220;ESP OFF&#8221; &#8211; with the currently active mode shown in the central display of the AMG instrument cluster. <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>The jaw-dropping new <a href="http://www.motorward.com/tag/mercedes-e63-amg/">Mercedes E63 AMG</a> is eagerly waiting for its launch to take the market by storm and teach a good lesson to all of them sports saloons out there with its 525hp rumbling V8, which is the most powerful amongst its rivals and is also the most powerful E-class ever made. Now Mercedes has just announced its European price and, well it&#8217;s a bit high!</strong></p>
<p><a id="more-5254"></a>But then it should be, because this is a lot of car. Its 6.2 liter normally aspirated V8 is capable of 525 hp and 630 nm of torque which can take you from zero to 100 in 4.5 seconds in absolute comfort and while the other rivals stops at 250 this E63 keeps going right up to 300 km/h. Of course removing the limiter is an extra option which you have to ask for, but hey!</p>
<p>The car is also lighter, nimbler and more agile than the previous model, you get three settings <span onmouseover="_tipon(this)" onmouseout="_tipoff()">(Comfort, Sport and Sport plus)</span> for the electronic suspension, so handlingwise it&#8217;s almost there to be as good as a sports car, given the weight and all the luxury onboard. Also  because of this lightness and with help of other fuel saving technologies, the E63 is one of the most economical cars in this segment. It averages 12.6 liters per 100km/h which is fantastic considering the performance it delivers. You can order the same sort of ceramic braking package they use for the SLR supercar  for E63 which are so powerful that it hurts more braking than actually having the accident you are trying to avoid!</p>
<p>Already there is a huge demand for this car and people are queuing up to put their name down to get one, but it won&#8217;t hit the showroom floor until <strong>August</strong> with a price tag of<strong> 105,791 Euros.</strong></p>

<p><a id="more-4411"></a>These pictures are taken by a reader of <em>Car magazine</em> in Spain, and as the guys from the mag point out, the cover on this car is a bit strange, because the new E-class Coupe is fully revealed so is the E63 sedan. So either the styling of this coupe is very different from the sedan version or this is a special edition, like an E-coupe Black Series.</p>
<p>We can&#8217;t wait to realize what the heck is this!</p>

<p><a id="more-4285"></a>The AMG-powered E-Class has always had a secret coolness whit it, a charisma that make it so desirable. It looks discreet and yet is  so powerful that can take on Ferraris and Lambos and beat them badly! The new E63 too, seems to have all the bases covered.</p>

<p>As mentioned earlier it&#8217;s got 6.3 liter AMG V8 which checks out 525 hp 465lb ft of torque. Connected to the speedshift MCT transmission, it does 0-100 in 4.5 seconds but as always restrained at 250 km/h top speed. It uses the same sort of suspension as the SL63 which unlike the previous generation of AMG cars is much more responsive and have settings for comfort or sporty driving which actually work! and is not there just for showing off.</p>

<p>Good thing is you can&#8217;t really tell this is a such a monstrous car by looking at it. On the surface it looks pretty similar to the normal E-Class with AMG sport pack. But the minute you start it and hear that rumbling V8 you realize this is no ordinary sedan. Of course the usual AMG recipe applies here, sportier aprons, a pair of twin exhausts, flared wheel arches and fabulous wheels.</p>

<p>The new 2010 Mercedes Benz E63 AMG will cost around 80,000 Euro, which is a lot! specially for a discreet sedan, but then this is a lot of car.</p>

Of course we are familiar with AMG upgrades, things like new sportier aprons, double twin exhausts, lower firmer suspension and AMG designer wheels &#8230; , but the best thing is what&#8217;s under the bonnet. A 6.3 liter muscular V8 which checks out <strong>525 HP</strong>. However, this mouth-watering package won&#8217;t come cheap, expect a price tag of over 80,000 euros.</p>
