Following last week’s feature of the amazing Porsche 911 993 GT2, fans asked Porsche to bring them more on this beast. So they responded with a new video of the car filled entirely with exhaust noise! That is the sound of a turbocharged boxer engine from the days when turbos were designed for big power not fuel efficiency. Crank up the volume and enjoy.

As you may know Australian Formula 1 star Mark Webber has bought himself a Porsche 911 GT2 RS as his daily driver. Porsche takes that as an opportunity to use the racing driver’s social image to promote the car. They took Mark and his car to the Silverstone track where he takes some lucky passengers out for a lap of the track, scaring the living daylights out of some! If you now fancy yourself some GT2 RS, please be advised that you need Webber kind of car control capabilities to enjoy it. Otherwise you might end up in a tree!

So you thought the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS is powerful ha?! Well, check out Switzer’s idea of a hot GT2. It is based on their P800 package which had 800 hp, but this one’s called the R911S, and there’s a clue! It has an insane 911 hp. Apparently it’s the same as the P800 only with much bigger intercoolers. And the coolest thing is that Switzer has priced it at $239,900, cheaper than the 620-hp GT2 RS.

So it’s very powerful and undoubtedly very fast in straight line, but what about corners? You see even the standard GT2 with 530 hp is a tricky little thing to drive fast, so Switzer Performance has equipped their car with titanium inverted-front-strut, remote-reservoir suspension engineered by the track experts at JRZ.

Whatever that is, Switzer says that it’s not just a tough and unforgiving racing suspension, it features hand-selected spring and damping rates, specifically catering to each client’s track experience and level of aggression.

They also provide a carbon package, that’s ” an exclusive suite of lightweight carbon-fiber body panels that sheds weight from the R911S and lowers the car’s center of gravity for maximum performance in advanced-level trackday and time-attack sessions”, so it has better power-to-weight ration than the GT2 RS as well. They really want to drive the customers away from Porsche’s own car!

Since the pictures of this new 911 GT2 RS have already leaked on the Internet Porsche, unintentionally, released the first official image of the car along with the official details of it. The 2011 GT2 RS is the most powerful road-going Porsche ever built. It comes with 90 more horsepower than the standard GT2, while it’s 70 kg (154 lbs) lighter.

The 3.6 liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine in this car is heavily tweaked and the power is increased from 530 hp in the GT2 up to a massive 620 hp! And thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber the whole car weighs no more than 1,370 kilograms (3,020 lb), so it has a power-to-weight ratio of just 4.9 lbs (2.21 kg) per horsepower which is astonishing.

The 3.6 liter six-cylinder boxer engine features two variable turbine geometry turbochargers and provides power to the rear wheels exclusively through a six-speed manual gearbox. Equally impressive stopping power comes from Porsche Composite Ceramic Brakes (PCCB).

So it’s no wonder that the GT2 RS can do 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, reach a top speed of 205 mph and lap the legendary Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 7 minutes 18 seconds!

This new GT2 is distinguished from normal model by a number of exclusive visual features including flared arches, carbon fiber bonnet, carbon fiber air ducts, redesigned front spoiler lip and the 3/8th of an inch (10 mm) taller rear spoiler lip, and the new 19-inch light-alloy wheels with central locking and “GT2 RS” model designations on the doors and rear lid.

Inside you get lightweight two-piece bucket seats as well as lightweight door panels with fabric straps instead of traditional door handles. The dominant material here is red and black alcantara.

The wheels are wrapped in 245/35 ZR 19 at the front and 325/30 ZR 19 at the rear high performance tires. Porsche has equipped the GT2 RS with Adaptive Suspension Management (PASM), unique anti-roll bars, specific engine mounts and recalibrated Porsche Stability Management (PSM), whose stability and traction control functions can be switched off individually. But it takes no genius to say it still is an untamed beast! The normal 530 hp GT2 is very very tricky to handle, let alone this monstrous version!

2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS is limited to 500 units and will go on sale in America from October 2010. The pricing for this car has turned out to be less than expectations, as it has a MSRP of $245.000. Good Value!

The GT2 RS is making its world debut at the Moscow Auto Show on August 25th 2010.

Before this we had only seen this car in disguise through some spyshots, but this one is apparently the first picture of the real car which has been taken by someone at Porsche’s VIP party, in which the car was revealed. The GT2 RS will be unveiled to the public on May 14th, but according to the source, this ultimate edition of the ultimate version of the 911 has got 620 hp and it’s 90 Kg lighter than the normal GT2.

This all sound too exciting! You see the standard GT2, if you can call it standard, is such a wild beast and you need two brains, four hearts and eight testis (yeah it’s that scary!) to handle it properly. Now with the RS version, by imagine, you have to double that numbers. And of course you are going to have to pay a whole lot more than the normal GT2 for it.

Only real professional drivers can enjoy such an exquisite recipe. For good drivers, even the regular GT3 is a bit of a handful!

Looks like tuners around the world has started a horsepower war with this Porsche 911 GT2! It’s the second one we feature today and it has 50 more horsepower than the Switzer’s GT2 with 800hp! This one is a creation of the best name in business, 9ff. And they’ve called it BT-2.

For the 9ff BT-2 numbers speak for themselves! 850 hp and 920 nm of torque which translate into 0-100 time of 3.0 seconds, 0-200 in 8.7 seconds, 0-300 in 18.5 seconds and top speed of 386 km/h. They can also adjust your car so it’ll have slightly less top speed but much more acceleration!

9ff is a Porsche expert, so they couldn’t let this car go without a proper aerodynamic package to improve its twitchy handling. There are carbon fiber front and rear spoilers and of course a big rear wing. They’ve also fitted the car with light alloys and an active exhaust system so you can choose between civil or sport surround sound!

You don’t expect such a car to be cheap, do you?! And it’s not of course! The Porsche 911 GT2 by 9ff tuning costs you 285,000 Euros.

Porsche GT2 is the most hardcore and unforgiving version of the 911 and with 530hp it’s also the most powerful member of the range too. So you might think it’s impossible to go beyond that, but you’re wrong because Wimmer Rennsporttechnik just announced their GT2 which packs 680 horsepower!

Wimmer engine upgrade includes some heavy modifications. They’ve replaced standard turbochargers with their own modified ones, and also fiddled with the cylinder heads to put the new camshafts in them. Then they installed a high performance exhaust system and remapped the ECU. The result is a colossal 680 hp and 870 nm of torque, enough for you to hit the 100 from stand still in 3.4 seconds and keep going all the way up to 356 km/h.

The normal GT2 is such a nightmare to drive even for experienced drivers, it’s too edgy and too angry all the time. You make the slightest mistake in it and it’ll kill you. Now with this much power Wimmer is giving it, God knows what kind of animal it’s become! They have done a few aerodynamic tweakes and readjusted the chassis using H&R components, but the GT2 still needs two brains, four eyes and eight hands to drive it!

Wimmer engine upgrade package costs around 30,000 Euros, so it’s rather an expensive way to kill yourself!

DTM-approved race technique appoints the genes of the Dunlop tire, which therewith opened a new product segment: the MaxxPerformance-tires. The Sport-Maxx GT – in 235/30-20 and 325/25-20, fitted on beautiful Sportec-rims, makes sure of an excellent stability of the maximum speed. Even in areas far over 300 km/h.

The optical appearance is spiced up by exterior mirrors and rear spoiler lip made of carbon. Upon request of the customer all parts can be made of carbon. The chassis has been improved by H&R- components, to cope with the increased driving performances.
