REIL Performance, a sub-brand of MR Car Design, announced a couple of tweaks for the Porsche 997 GT3 to make it even more desirable.

Of course with such a perfect car as the GT3 there isn’t much you can do to improve it, but REIL has fitted it the KW Variant 3 coilover suspensions, complete with HLS Lift Kit system for better handling and convenience at the same time.

The other upgrade is a set of Akrapovic lightweight exhausts which make the 455 output of the car more audible! They’ve also put some stickers on it which are not that goof to be honest. The rest of the car remain standard.

These little tweaks will make this juicy red GT3 an absolute charmer. Too bad REIL has not revealed how much they cost.

The current generation of Porsche 911 will die in a few days when the 2012 991 takes center stage at IAA. But 997′s spirit lives on in this, the 2012 911 GT3 R.

The most popular racing car for private teams willing to participate in endurance or GT series gets more power in its 2012 iteration, 20 ho more to be exact, delivering up to 500 hp (368 kW).

What’s more, the new model is better than ever to drive, what with the new paddle shifters and the automatic throttle blip control which matches the rev to your changes. The car also features a softer anti-roll bar at front, so it should understeer less.

The power increase of the four-litre, six-cylinder flat engine in the rear was achieved through optimisation of the intake system. The gearing of the sequential six-speed dog-type gearbox was adapted to the higher maximum output.

Available for delivery from November 2011, the new GT3 R costs 304,500 Euro excluding local tax. But if you wanna spend more and make your car more competitive, an upgrade kit is available from Porsche Motorsport for 43,100 Euro.

The 2012 version of the most successful race car ever, Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, has been revealed today, featuring many new things.

First off, they’ve put a 100-litre FT3 safety fuel tank in it, which is filled via an opening in the front bonnet. That makes it more efficient in an endurance race and also improves its safety.

In terms of the powertrain, the car is almost identical to the standard GT3 RS and has 450 bhp and the same maximum engine speed of 8,500 rpm. A race exhaust system with a controlled catalytic converter keeps emissions to a minimum. The car uses 9.5Jx18 with 25/64-18 Michelin race tyres at front, and 12Jx18 with 30/68-18 tyres at the back.

To make setting up the car easy for each track, the new Cup’s anti-roll bars at the front and rear are adjustable in seven positions. Otehr advantage of this car is the PCCB Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake, which is 20 kg lighter than conventional units.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup will be run in this specification for the 2012 and 2013 race seasons in selected one-make cup series. The car has a price tag of 161,750 Euro. So far, over 2,200 units of this racing Porsche have been sold to private teams.

2011 Nurburgring 24 hours turned out to be a great event for Porsche as they claimed the overall victory with Team Manthey’s Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.

Porsche works drivers Marc Lieb (Germany), Timo Bernhard (Germany), Romain Dumas (France) as well as Lucas Luhr (Switzerland) won the 39theditoin of the race, setting new distance record of 156 laps and nearly 4,000 kilometres. The car accomplished 16 hours and 35 minutes at the head of the field, 108 consistently fast and faultless laps under immense pressure, all of which is a showcase of the car’s and Porsche’s quality of engineering and reliability.

Porsche’s hybrid race car, the 911 GT3 R Hybrid also did well. Fielded by Porsche Team Manthey with Porsche works drivers Joerg Bergmeister (Germany), Richard Lietz (Austria), Marco Holzer (Germany) and Patrick Long (USA), the innovative race car with its ground-breaking flywheel drive concept managed to secure 28th place at the end. Last year the car failed to finish.

Magnat might not be a famous name in the tuning world, but they are about to become famous thanks to jobs like this Porsche 911 GT3.

They’ve picked the 911 GT3 which is a particularly great car to start with. It has just the right amount of lairiness, not so little like a normal 911, and not too much like a GT2. Then they’ve tweaked it and added more exclusivity to the package. It’s fantastic.

The snow white body of the car is complemented by a big black stripe that runs through the entire length of the car, and itself is complemented by other black detailing like the side decals, side skirts, front spoiler and the wheels. Speaking of the wheels, Magant has used 19 inch OZ Ultraleggera HLT for this car with Yokohama Advan tires.

With 462 HP and 451 Nm of torque as the result of a remapped ECu and a sport exhaust system, this GT3 is much more fun to drive.

The interior must be the best part of this tuning package. There you will find a magnificent blend of leather and Alcantara trimming with white stitching, plus gloss black accents. The GT3 has also been fitted with a top-notch multimedia system with Magnat Black Core 5 channel amplifier and a 10-inch subwoofer.

Porsche announced a new version of the 911 GT3 R Hybrid for this year’s Nurburgring 24-hour race. It’s simply called GT3 R Hybrid 2.0 like a new software!

And like a new version of a software it features many upgrades. It gets more power, well the electric motor does, it’s lighter by 20 percent, and it also has slightly different looks and better aerodynamics.

To make sure the car won’t fail this time around on the ‘Ring, Porsche has revised the systems and made the world famous flywheel that propels the car’s hybrid system more efficient. You can still spot the flywheel in place of the front passenger seat spinning in its cocooned carbon fiber case! They’ve also lightened the car by 50 kg. These changes are not meant to make the car any faster, but more efficient.

That means the car can do more laps on one single tank of fuel than before and that means less time wasted in the pit.

The output of the car’s flat-six remains 470 bhp but the revised electric motors make 200 bhp which is only occasionally used for overtaking, gaining traction or in the corners when the situation gets a little tricky.

As you see in the picture above Porsche has also given this car a Formula 1-style steering wheel with all the data and buttons littered all over it. That’s to make it more ergonomic and easier for the driver to operate, thus making him more efficient at the job of driving.

I’m kinda getting sick of all this efficiency! Racing used to be more manly in the olden days.

It is not a real production model, but a cool way of saying thanks to the fans! Porsche’s Facebook page recently hit one-million fan record and they celebrated it with a unique paint job on a GT3 R Hybrid race car on display at the Porsche Museum.

The car is covered with the names of Porsche Facebook fans, but since they couldn’t get one million names on it there’s only 27,000 of them present, which is still impressive! The reason they chose the GT3 R Hybrid for this purpose, apparently, is because this car shows the way forward for Porsche motorsport and is very futuristic in that case.

Tyre manufacturer Falken has picked a new car to 2011 Nurburgring 24-hour race, a Porsche 911 GT3 R. This new partnership between Falken and Porsche for the race will be used to develop the next generation of FALKEN tyres. It also gives Falken a better chance of winning over the usual Japanese sports cars!

The 2011 race will take place on the unique Nordschleife on June 25th-26th. With 33 left-hand and 40 right-hand curves, the famous strip of asphalt snakes through the hilly Eifel landscape. Falken drivers are yet to be announced.

As for the car, Porsche 911 GT3 R is powered by a six-cylinder, naturally-aspirated boxer engine with four litres of displacement, which generates 480 horsepower (353 kW) at 7,250 rotations per minute. It features a dog-type six-speed sequential gearbox, traction control, the electronically controlled double de-clutching function and a specially tuned racing ABS. Wheels and tires setup: One-piece, forged, lightweight alloy wheels (11J x 18 ET 35) and 290/660R18 tyres. Rear axle: One-piece, forged, lightweight alloy wheels (13J x 18 ET 12.5) and 330/710R18 tyres.

“With FALKEN High Performance Tyres and Porsche, two premium motorsport brands are coming together. This comes at a time when we are increasing our commitment in Europe, with an intention to expand further,” says FALKEN’s Marketing Director, Satoru Ushida. “It is our aim to improve our race results from the past. Last year we achieved 12th place overall and 3rd place in the SP7 class and put our performance to the test at the highest level,” adds Ushida.

About the ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race:
The ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race at the Nürburgring has been held on the approximately 25km long combination of the Nordschleife and Grand-Prix track since 1970. The long lap length makes a field of more than two hundred vehicles possible, which are driven by up to approximately 700 drivers. Due to the large starting field and more than 200,000 fans that line the track, the race is regarded by some as the largest motorsports event in the world. In 2011, it will be held from the 23rd to 26th June.

Just as Ferrari announced the new 458 GTC race car, Porsche revealed the new version of the 911 GT3 RSR! And while the Ferrari is new and amazing to look at, the 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR is pretty much the same as the old one. But the Porsche is the world’s most successful GT race car, while the 458 is yet to prove itself.

Unveiled at the “Night of Champions” party held at the R&D Centre in Weissach to mark the end of the motorsport season, the new GT3 RSR features upgraded aerodynamics plus uprated suspension and tweaked engine.

The car is still powered by the same 4.0-litre, six-cylinder boxer engine but it has five more horses! It now develops 455 hp (355 kW) at 7,800 revs thanks to the upgraded engine management system, as well as a redesigned exhaust system and a modified air intake housing. This flat-six can rev up to 9,400 rpm.

Clearly visible are the modifications to the front. A new front lip provides higher downforce at the front axle. The front wheels are now wider with the rims growing from 11 to 12 inches giving additional grip and less of an understeering tendency.

The position of the rear wing and the shape of the wing mounting also underwent optimisation and were adapted to the new rear fairing with additional air outlet louvers. The rear lid was also redesigned for optimised air ducting. Like the 911 GT3 Cup and the GT3 R, the RSR has now been equipped with the LED rear lights taken from the latest 911 road-legal cars.

The 911 GT3 RSR joins the 911 GT3 R and the 911 GT3 Cup as the top model of Porsche Motorsport’s product range. The successful long distance racer from Weissach can be ordered now at a price of 410,000 Euro plus country-specific value added tax. All 2011 modifications are available as a kit for GT3 RSR cars from the 2010 season.

In case you didn’t know it, Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is the best-selling racing car of all time, with over 1,400 units sold since 1998. And here’s the latest edition based on the road-going 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. It has the same450 hp flat six 3.8-litre engine but it’s much lighter and edgier than the RS. So it’s kind of the ultimate Porsche 911!

The new GT3 Cup will make its debut at 2011 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship then it’ll start its career in Porsche Carrera Cup Championships around the globe and the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup.

Being based on the GT3 RS, this is the first 911 GT3 Cup car to feature the 44-millimetre (1.73”) wider body at the rear, which provides increased space for even larger wheels and slick tyres. Wider front wheel arches also clearly show that the front wheels/tyres are likewise bigger which, combined with other evolutionary changes, has enabled the dynamic performance of the latest car to reach new heights.

Engine capacity is up by 0.2 litres over the prior GT3 Cup car, with power output rising by 30 hp more than before. Thus the rear-mounted 3.8-litre six-cylinder horizontally-opposed power unit develops 450 hp, and drives the rear wheels through a sequential six-speed manual gearbox and limited slip differential. Since as the Cup is 170 Kg lighter than the RS, it offers even sharper performance on the track.

There are subtle differences as well, for instance the front spoiler lip on the Cup is 15 millimetres (approx 0.6“) lower to provide significantly more downforce on the front axle. Downforce on the rear axle is also increased by the rear wing, that is extended in width from 1.46 to 1.70 metres (57.5 to 66.9”) and now mounted higher up.

The rear bumper valance with its distinctive air vent openings and LED technology rear lights, in turn, come straight from the GT3 RS road car. This car features three-piece light-alloy rims measuring 9.5 J x 18 at front – 12 J x 18 a the back – and running on 24/64-18 front – 27/68-18 rear Michelin racing tyres.

Inside the stripped-put cabin, the controls for the Info Display are now positioned directly on the steering wheel which houses a total of six switches that control a variety of functions including the pit-lane speed limiter, windscreen wipers, and lights. In addition to fore-and-aft adjustment, the steering wheel may now also be adjusted for height, as on the 911 road car.

As for the price, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup can be obtained for £94,600 plus VAT and deliveries to customers will begin in early 2011.

Porsche had said that they will run a version of their innovative 911 GT3 R Hybrid race car at this year’s Petit LeMans, but in case you’ve missed the action they released a video that summarizes it around the car. The GT3 Hybrid was not quite successful as it only managed to finish 18th, but then it was not a fully prepared car for the race. It was more of a test for the GT3 R and the engineers seem to have gained what they were after.

The most successful manufacturer in the history of Le Mans 24 Hours is ready for yet another victory at this year’s event. They’ve recently announced their lineup for the 2010 race which includes six GT2-Class Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, prepared for private teams from Europe and the USA , and backed by Porsche factory drivers.

Some of this Le Mans masters include Marc Lieb (Germany), Richard Lietz (Austria), Wolf Henzler (Germany), Joerg Bergmeister (Germany), Patrick Pilet (France), Patrick Long (USA), and Junior Marco Holzer (Germany). But like last year, two of Porsche’s best drivers, Timo Bernhard (Germany) and Romain Dumas (France), will be driving for Audi R15 TDi in LMP1 class.

At the 78th edition of the long distance motor sport classic in the Sarthe region, Porsche customer teams face strong opposition with major-league names in the GT2 class. “We are up against tough competition this year from BMW, Ferrari, Corvette and Aston Martin,” states Marc Lieb, who mans the number 77 car. “But the 911 GT3 RSR is reliable and quick. You need a very well balanced car here, particularly for the extremely fast corners – and that’s just what we have. The long full throttle passages also suit our car and Michelin is the perfect tyre partner. We have the chance to fight for class victory, and we’ll be doing everything to make it happen.”

As reigning GT2 champions and current points’ leaders of the Le Mans Series, Richard Lietz teams up with Lieb. Lietz is looking forward to Le Mans: “This race is always something special. The whole affair has flair and the circuit is simply fantastic.”

The Felbermayr team enters a second 911 with start number 88, in which the Austrians Horst Felbermayr senior and junior with Slovakian Miroslav Konopka share driving duties.

At the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR run by the French IMSA Performance Matmut team, regulars Patrick Pilet and team boss Raymond Narac (France) join forces with support, as usual, from Patrick Long. “We kicked off the season with victory at the 24 Hour race in Dubai, perhaps that was a good omen for our home event,” hopes Pilet. “The 911 GT3 RSR is cut out for the demanding Le Mans circuit. We’re aiming for the podium.” The French 911 bears the start number 76.

Another well-established Porsche outfit comes from the United States: Flying Lizard Motorsports (start number 80), GT class title defender in the American Le Mans Series, brings Joerg Bergmeister as well as Americans Darren Law and Seth Neiman.

BMS Scuderia Italia’s Porsche 911 GT3 RSR also features a top driver line up. Porsche Junior Marco Holzer shares the number 97 cockpit with reigning FIA GT champion Richard Westbrook (Great Britain) and the double DTM champion Timo Scheider (Germany). The sixth 911 with starting number 75 is entered by the Belgian ProSpeed Competition team, with Dutchmen Paul van Splunteren and Niek Hommerson as well as Louis Machiels (Belgium) sharing the cockpit.

Today Porsche, out of the blue, announced that they have developed a hybrid race car based on the 911 GT3 R! The car is set for debut at the upcoming motor show in Geneva, and will make its racing debut at this year’s Nurburgring 24 Hrs in May. Now the company released a video footage of the car flexing muscle on the race track, as a kind of taster!

This hybrid racer is powered by a 480 horsepower 4.0 liter flat-six engine at the back, and two 60 Kw electric motors on the front axle. It also uses a new and very very clever electronically controlled flywheel which acts as the kinetic energy recovery unit and feeds the electric motors instead of the heavy batteries. More details on the car HERE.

Like all the other car manufacturers, Porsche too is working day and night on new hybrid powertrains for future models. But Porsche being a sportscar maker they are also developing hybrid race cars! Here’s the first example which is based on a GT3 R race car, and will make its world debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

Porsche says this system is specifically developed for racing and consists of two electric motor each developing 60Kw power on the front axle and a 480 hp four-liter flat-six gasoline engine at the rear. The car also features an electrical flywheel power generator instead of regular batteries for powering the electric motors, which is located inside the car where the passenger seat would normally go.

The flywheel generator itself is an electric motor with its rotor spinning at speeds of up to 40,000 rpm, storing energy mechanically as rotation energy. The flywheel generator is charged whenever the driver applies the brakes, with the two electric motors reversing their function on the front axle and acting themselves as generators. Then, whenever necessary, that is when accelerating out of a bend or when overtaking, the driver is able to call up extra energy from the charged flywheel generator, the flywheel being slowed down electromagnetically in the generator mode and thus supplying up to 120 kW to the two electric motors at the front from its kinetic energy. This additional power is available to the driver after each charge process for approximately 6 – 8 seconds.

So as you have noticed, this hybrid system is actually there to give the car more power and is not necessarily an eco thing! But Porsche says it also helps to save fuel on slow paces. To see what this hybrid race car is really made of, we should wait for this year’s Nurburgring 24 Hours race where the car will be put through its paces.

We think Porsche 911 GT3 is the best version of 911, because everything about this car is just right! It is not as mad and uncontrollable as a GT2, and yet much more exhilarating to drive than standard models and even the Turbo. Now German tuner PRIOR Design has come up with a new aerodynamic package for it, which apart form everything, gives the car a magnificent style.

Called the PD3, this kit comes with a new carbon fiber spoiler lip at front which looks just fine with the slightly revised bumper. Then there’s the new side sills, a newly designed rear diffuser which is made of carbon fiber and looks just stunning and the modified rear bumper with air vents in it. There’s also a big rear wing to help with the stability at high speed.

The tuner has also put a pair of tailpipes right in the middle of diffuser creating a very nice visual effect in combination with the carbon fiber fins on each sides. These mufflers are connected to the car’s new stainless steel sport exhaust system.

Done with the aerodynamics, PRIOR focuses on ride and handling, where it gives the GT3 a new set of ultra light, multi-section forged wheel and new chassis setting and suspension components which reduce the ride height by almost 30 mm. This makes the GT3 even more precise.

The latest evolution of 9ff’s incredible GTurbo series are based on the Porsche 977 GT3 with 435 hp and the 450 hp GT3 RS. The 997 GT3 is considered as the ultimate 911, but what 9ff has in mind redefines the word ‘ultimate’ ! They offer three power packages for the GT3, starting from 750 hp, going up to 850 hp and finally 1000 hp.

Although 9ff says that this huge power is due to their Bi-Turbo package, but it’s way more than that. They redone the whole engine with the highest quality materials such as titanium and replace most of the parts with the heavy duty high performance ones. So thanks to the precise and overwhelming engineering work behind this package you can get as many horsepower as you like!

9ff GTurbo750: 750HP / 850 NM torque

9ff GTurbo850: 850HP / 910 NM torque

9ff GTurbo1000: 1000HP / 940 NM torque

Now a 1000hp is meaningless on paper, unless you realize what can you do with it in the real world. And rest assured, you can do a lot with it! Just check out the numbers for the GTurbo 1000: 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds, 0-200km/h in 8.2 seconds, 0-300km/h in 16.5 seconds and a top speed of 392 km/h!

9ff also fits the car with a massive body kit which helps with the aerodynamic and also cooling. It consists of a front apron with LED indicators, side skirts and a rear apron. The rear apron is available in two variations. Once as a variation for the middle exhaust system of the GT3, GT3RS and 9ff Speed9. And the second variation for left / right exhausts systems for all other 997. They also offer a new set of white 9ff GTurbo design 19-inch wheels, which you can also have with a central lock system.
