BMW announced plans to put the extreme version of 1-series called 135i supersports also known as Tii into production. The car has all the features to revive the glorious age of 2oo2 models which when it came almost 40 years ago became the undisputed king of compact sports cars and started a class of its own. Like that car, Tii has a lot of stamina in form of a turbocharged inline-six engine developing 326-horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. That is a lot of power in a car with size of a shoe! Combine that with BMW’s classic rear wheel drive handling, and the result is tremendous driving joy. Of course if you can live with its ugly look!

The production version however will reportedly get a smaller engine, 4 cylinder maybe, to keep the price low, which is a shame really. Because the only reason to tolerate this hideous looking car is power and handling, omit them and you left with… S#%@!

Mercedes announced that it’s phasing out V12 engines from production lines, extending the V8 range. First impression is that the green party made them to drop big thirsty CO2 pumping V12s, but fact of the matter is, as they say, it is too long!

Yea, as simple as that. a V12 engine in length is equal to an in-line six cylinder and Mercedes upcoming platforms are not able to accommodate that! so they are heading to maximum 8cylinder in V shape. What a pity! Ofcourse, this being Mercedes, They never disappoint. So they are promising twin turbo V8s as the alternative. If you imagine the current V8 range with added turbos, then you will find no reason to miss V12s at least in term of power, however, a simple rule says bigger is better! so personally, I feel much better with a V12 powertrain under my bonnet instead of a V8 equivalent.

Maserati GranTurismo MC corse is a GT Racer based on The great GranTurismo, to compete in FIA GT3 series, now there are rumors that maserati is actually planing to make a street-legal version of it as a stripped out light-weight sport GT, something like Ferrari Scuderia or Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Ofcourse you can’t call that GT anymore!

Maserati did a Corse version of its hardcore super car MC12 when actually it was pulled outta market, which with its million Euro price tag was nothing more desirable over original car, but Granturismo is in a totally different league, It is the perfect car you can drive to a trackday event, Enjoy a racing experience then drive back home peacefully. Whatever, the look of this car is simply enough reason to buy one, rest doesn’t matter!
