The new line of Steve Saleen’s SMS Supercars tuned Mustangs will be recognized by their color label. There’s the  White, Yellow and Black Label Mustangs in honor of Saleen’s racing heritage colors.

It also make them sound cooler! Each color represents a level of tuning for the SMS 302 Mustang. The SMS 302 White Label is normally aspirated, making 440 horsepower, with performance suspension, exhaust, interior ergonomics and exterior styling. The Yellow Label,makes 545 horsepower, has all of the White Label attributes plus a supercharger and SMS 19″ wheel/tire assemblies. The MSRP for the White is $35,540 and for the Yellow $45,540.

Then there’s the Black Label which has the same 545 hp but gets, among other features, advanced aerodynamic body components, S4 suspension, and SMS leather interior. What’s more customers can order custom paint job. Because it’s highly customizable SMS has not put a price tag on it yet.

All of the SMS Supercars receive SMS Serialization and are identified in the Steve Saleen SMS Registry.

SMS Supercars is able to present many of their top of the line Black Label vehicle components and engineering knowledge in these new White and Yellow Label models.

Saleen Performance Vehicles released a few more details on their new S302 model based on the 2011 Ford Mustang 5.0. Disappointingly, at this stage the performance remains he same as standard, which means you have to live with just 425 hp of the car’s new 5.0 liter V8. But they offer interior and exterior modifications.

On the outside, the S302 come with a new grille and front fascia, new side skirts and a discrete boot lid spoiler at the back. Other feature contributing to both looks and handling is the 20-inch, 7-spoke alloy wheels set with Pirelli P-Zero high-performance tires. There is also a couple of Saleen S302 badges on the body.

Inside the car you get new, leather sport seats with Ultrasuede inserts, highlighted by chevron-like Ultrasuede red tabs in the seatback bolsters, and unique treatments of the gauges, steering wheel, center console and shifter, and some more badges!

So, actually it seems to be the most pointless tuning job ever! Because well, the performance is unchanged and the visual tweaks are very subtle and not much better than the car’s original design! However Michael Timarac, Brand Manager, Saleen Performance Vehicles doe not think so:

Saleen Performance Vehicles, which by the way has nothing to do with Steve Saleen and his organizations, released the first details of their new S281 Convertible Mustang, set to be unveiled at at the 25th Annual Fabulous Fords Forever!, hosted at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, on Sunday, April 25th.

So the S281 Convertible which they say is going to offer an exhilarating driving experience, with refined drivability for real-world road conditions, comes with a 4.6-liter V8 engine. This unit gets a Saleen Series VI.5 twin-screw supercharger and dual-stage intercooler, and as a result it develops 485 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque.

Also to get the most of this power, Saleen has equipped the car with a short-throw, five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with 3.73:1 final drive ratio.

Steve Saleen finally revealed his new creation the 302 Mustang based on the 2011 model, which is a part of Saleen’s trio including the 2010 570 Challenger and the forthcoming 620 Camaro. They are going to make two version of the 302 Mustang, one with a 440-hp normally aspirated 5.0 liter V8 and the other, with a SMS 296 Supercharger developing 53-hp.

The SMS 302 4V utilizes the all-new normally aspirated twin overhead cam 5.0L V8 engine with over 440 hp and 400 ft-lb of torque. This is accomplished with an all-new 4-valve head design, a high flow exhaust system, an optimized pulley drive system, premium fuel calibration and performance filtration.

The SMS 302SC will pump out over 535 hp and 450 ft-lb of torque, thanks to the use of the SMS patent pending 296 Supercharger System with Asymmetric Multi-Lobe Screws, SMS Six-PackTM Intercooler System and SMS patent pending Duo-Path Induction. Transmission options for both are a 6-speed Automatic or a 6-Speed TR3650 Manual.

As for the performance, the weaker SMS 302 4V does 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and runs a quarter mile in 13.5 seconds at a speed of 116 mph. The mighty SMS 302 SC accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and does the quarter mile in 12.1 seconds while doing 119 mph.

Both cars feature a wide range of upgrades in terms of interior, exterior and of course structural work. They both come standard with the new and unique SMS S4 High Performance Suspension, comprising of S4 Specific Rate Front and Rear Springs, S4 Front Struts, S4 Rear Shocks, S4 Front and Rear Sway Bars with High Durometer Pivot Bushings and the all-new SMS unique S4 Watts Link rear suspension.

Also , both models come with new 5-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels (9-inch wide at front and 10-inch wide at the back) wrapped in 275/40(30)ZR Pirelli PZero tires. Furthermore the brakes are upgraded with ABS Cross Drilled Rotors, Powder Coated Calipers and High Performance Racing pads.

Then we get to the looks, where Saleen has come up with a new body kit with revised bumpers, modified bonnet, new side skirts, rear wing and rear diffuser. It really does look good. Also for the interior they offer all-new Alcantara and leather SMS performance seats with the patented Signature Series chevron stripes, two-tone leather chevron door inserts, a leather-wrapped billet aluminum shift knob and leather wrapped steering wheel. The supercharged model also benefits from a 200 mph gauge cluster and a supercharger gauge pod with boost and charge air temperature gauges.

Yep! Here’s another modified Chevy Camaro, but this one’s actually quite special because it is a creation of Steve Saleen. Using his SMS Supercars brand, he has already done the Mustang and the Challenger, so inevitably he had to come up with something for the Camaro as well! Here’s the renderings of SMS 620 project and if you like them, wait for the Detroit Motor Show to see them in person.

Based on the 6.2 liter V8 Camaro SS, the SMS 620 packs a massive punch in form of 575 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. That means it does 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. The more powerful 620X version comes with a massive 715 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque which makes it capable of a 0-60 sprint in 4 seconds flat. Both models owe their huge umpf to SMS’s brand new 296-series supercharger (patent pending) and both come with upgraded suspension and braking systems and can be had with manual or automatic six-speed transmission.

Both cars come has bespoke interior with high performance gauges and all-new Alcantara and leather SMS performance seats that feature the patented Signature Series chevron stripes.

SMS 620 series Camaros will become available in the second quarter of 2010.

Saleen has took a more elegant approach designing this car than tuners usually do. It comes with modified front and rear fascia that makes it even more muscular. 

The car is powered by a 4.6 liter V8 with Saleen Series VI.5 twin-screw supercharger and dual-stage intercooler. It chucks out 485 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. This power is delivered to the rear wheels through a a short-throw, five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with 3.73:1 final drive ratio.

As for chassis tuning, Saleen has provided this car with a racing grade suspension. It includes specially tuned, single-rate front and rear springs; nitrogen-pressurized front struts and rear shocks with a wide range of damping adjustments; and a specially tuned front sway bar with performance pivot bushings.

The S281 is also fitted with 20-inch, 7-spoke alloy wheels with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso high-performance tires.

For the interior Saleen offers leather sport seats with Ultra-Suede inserts, highlighted by chevron-like Ultra-Suede red tabs in the seatback bolsters, and unique treatments of the gauges, steering wheel, center console and shifter. There also are contrasting Saleen logos in the door panels, and Saleen logos in the door sill plates that illuminate when the door is opened.

Although this Mustang is called Saleen and also uses Saleen supercharger, It’s not a real Saleen Mustang! It’s a bit complicating, this car belongs to Saleen Performance Vehicles from MJ Acquisitions group and has nothing to do with Steve Saleen, who recently announced new models by his new brand SMS Supercars. Apparently MJ Acquisitions has the right to use Saleen name on their cars and Steve can do nothing about it!

Anyway, the car… Based on 2010 Mustang, Saleen 435S comes with a Saleen Series VI supercharger bolted on its 4.6 liter V8 engine. It is capable of 435 hp and 575 nm of torque. They have also installed a quick-shifter in the cars five-speed manual gearbox. 435S also sits lower than standard by 1.5 inches and has 18 inch five-spoke alloys, but you can order 19 or 20 inch as well. And as for the visuals, you get modified bumpers and a spoiler at the back.

They say a more powerful version will be unveiled at the next SEMA show, and it better be good because if it’s like this 435S people would say: “what a shame! they ruined Saleen name to make this crap!”

Karvajal Designs?! Have you ever heard of them? Well, neither have we but anyway, what they’ve done to the Corvette looks pretty sick and that is what matters! It is not fair if you call it just a bodykit, it’s more than that. In fact as they say it’s a Coachbuilt Corvette, like those custom Vettes by Callaway or Mustangs by Saleen. The styling looks a bit outdated frankly, but it’s nice!

Karvajal’s Corvette sits wider than the normal car and that’s why it’s got more presence. Apart form that, they have totally revised the body specially at the back. In fact you cannot tell it’s a Corvette if you look at from behind at first glance! Although it’s not that pretty. The side view of the car has also been changed with new lines and sills and those magnificent side vents. It seems that the designer didn’t want it to look modern. Maybe Classic is a good word to describe this car! Those HRE 18 inch wheels however, don’t look very classicish! Inside the cabin you get a blend of leather and alcantara with new sport seats and steering wheel. You can also replace that horrible plastic consoles of the Corvette with carbon fiber parts

As for the engine and performance though, the Karvajal Vette is really up to date. With help of a Magnuson supercharger and custom exhaust system it develops more than 600 horsepower. So the ZX-1 should have the ZR1 performance! The car has a new braking package from Baer and new suspension component from Pfaft and the aerodynamics have also been tweaked to cope with the added power.

Karvajal Designs Inc has plans to make other varieties of the car, but there is no mention of availability and pricing for the time being.
