Vittoria is the name of this weird supercar by Italian company UP Design, unveiled at the 2012 Qatar Motor Show.

The car has an extremely radical design, which truth be told is not what you call pretty. Still, they’ve been brave and wanted to try something new, and we respect that.

The Vittoria has some unique details in its design. Well, in fairness everything in it is unique and never seen before. But the most striking features include the front air intakes, which are repeated at the back as exhaust pipes. The jet fighter-like cabin is also a nice touch.The only part we liked to some extent is the full-length LED taillights. We think they look good.

Talking about this car’s powertrain is irrelevant, because it’s just a show car and it’ll never see production. Think of it as an artistic sculpture, then it makes a tiny bit of sense!

DC Design acted quickly after their first teasers and revealed the very first Indian supercar as the Avanti at Auto Expo 2012.

As promised by the makers, the Avanti has most of the ingredients of a proper super car. It has a cool name, a fancy design, a well-sorted chassis, the lot. They didn’t promise big horsepower though, but turns out it will have 400 hp, which is not bad.

The 400 hp output comes from a turbocharged Honda V6 engine. Initially, the car will be available with a four-cylinder Ford engine with 265 hp.

Performance is not very supercarish, with a quoted 0 to 60mph sprint time of around 7 seconds. An average Indian driver used to Nanos and Marutis would call that pretty brisk.

So the Avanti is closer to a sports car than a full on super car as DC Design claims. They actually call it an affordable supercar, with a base price of $56,000. Now it makes more sense. DC design is setting itself an ambitious goal of producing 2000 cars per year.

India in joining the exclusive club of super car makers with DC Design Chhabria. It has all the ingredients of a super car minus the horsepower, according to the founder. Now that’s like saying I look like George Clooney in every way, except I’m bald! On the upside this fancy looking car costs only $56,000 if, or when, they put it into production.

The car will soon be unveiled at the Delhi Auto Show, so we will be back with more details as soon as we got them.

A large part of a car’s appeal for us is the noise it makes. That’s why we like supercars so much, and that’s also why we don’t like hybrids and electric cars. Now, a good fella called Cvdzijden, who lives in Youtube and films supercars for a living, has put together a nice compilation video of the best supercar sounds he recorded in 2011. Most of them are Ferraris, but hey, we ain’t complaining!

Sports Car Club of China is possibly the finest car club in the whole universe. The picture above says it all, doesn’t it. Not sure how this club works and if all of these cars are available to the members, but the fact that so many awesome supercars are gathered together in one place is enough reason to celebrate. Each year in Summer when the weather gets unbearably hot in the Middle East, most of the Arabs hop on a plane and go for a long vacation in Europe. Most of them end up in London of course where they have businesses going on. More and more Italian company’s are getting into the business of making supercar these days. Recently we had Vygor Opera, F&M Mugello, and now this, the UP Design Vittoria concept.

The brainchild of company owner Umberto Palermo, the Vittoria is a strange and beastly-looking thing. This two-door coupe seems to one of those cars which they just couldn’t stop designing. There are too many details and too many angles. It’s not Italian you know. An Italian supercar is supposed to be crazy, but chic and elegant at the same time. The Vittoria is just crazy!

Not much details available yet, expect for this teaser video with its irritating music. The car will be unveiled at the 2012 Qatar Motor Show. Each year they invite a number of Italian coachbuilders and bepoke car makers for some more joie de vivre.

These low quality pictures you see here are the teaser shots of a new Italian supercar, sorta enhanced to give you a clearer view.

This rather magnificent thing is made by Faralli & Mazzanti, or F&M for short, and is named after the famous Italian race track Mugello. Although we have no info on the car’s technical specs, we like it plenty because of the way it looks.

The car has proportions of a proper exotica with nicely shaped LED head and taillights and fancy complex lines everywhere you look. That roof scoop might be a bit too much, but it’s probably necessary to feed more air to the powertrain. It could also be a sign of big power. On the whole the car looks a damn sight better than the other Italian start-up Vygor Opera.

Production of the F&M Mugello will begin next year for only five units. You can already tell it’ll have a six figure price tag.

Spada Codatronca Monza is a Italian exotica designed by Paolo, Ercole Spada and Domiziano Boschi of Spadaconcept as a tribute to the Monza circuit. It might look like a cartoon character, but boy does it sound good. It also goes like sting, thanks to a Corvette 7.0 liter V8 developing 720 bhp and 920 Nm of torque that enables it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 and a bit seconds and top 340 km/h. British sports car maker TVR has been going downhill ever since it was sold to a Russian business boy. Now they are back in business with new headquarters in Austria.

But it seems they don’t have enough money yet to come up with an all-new model. Instead they will be making upgraded versions of the old models. And they can do the entire range including Sagaris, Tuscan convertible, Tuscan MK II,  Cerbera, Chimaera and Griffith.

They do have a new engine, a GM 6.2L 426 bhp V8 with  420 lb/ft of torque, mated to an enforced 5-speed manual gearbox.

So you go to them with your old TVR, and they will rebuild it as new with the V8 engine. Or, you can ask them to make you one of the models mentioned above to your individual specifications, as long as you don’t ask for a different engine!

They are already working on Tuscan MK II convertible which they say will be the fastest convertible in the world with an open-top speed of 187 mph.

We hope some day TVR becomes that magnificent British supercar it once was. Rebuilding old cars certainly won’t do it.

Normally we would do anything to avoid a traffic jam. Even if it means going on a longer route. But imagine being stuck in a traffic jam as cool as this one in this video. You wouldn’t wanted it to ever end. It is apparently the aftermath of a massive supercar meet somewhere in England. The variety of supercars here is mind-boggling.

What we have here is a strange mix. The CCG Custom GT looks kinda like Ford GT, is powered by GM engines, and is built by a German startup.

The end result however, seems like a delicious dish. As the brainchild of Tom Gerards, Head of CCG automotive GmbH, Custom GT is bonafied supercar. Depending on which engine you choose it will weigh no more than 1.4 tonne.

Engines available for this car are both sourced from GM and are either 6.0 or 7.0 liter in displacement. They first one makes 450 and the latter 550 hp. The car can do 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 or 3.3 seconds and reach top speed of 285 or 320 km/h. Upon request, CCG equips the two-seater with an LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) system and converts the vehicle into a racy 300 km/h, ultra-lightweight eco-super sports car.

CCG GT also features tubular space frame, KW suspension, and MOV’IT 6-piston brake calipers 370 * 35 mm in the front / 4-piston calipers 342 * 28 mm at the rear.

A French firm from called Genty announced its plans to launch the Akylone super car. A car that has over a 1000 hp, because it’s fashionable these days.

The Akylone’s specs seem to be yet another wishlist by an unknown company who claims they now better than Ferrari and Lamborghini. Genty says their car will have 1000 hp and 1200 Nm of torque, hits 100 km/h from 0 in 2.7 seconds and can reach 354 km/h. The car has a lightweight carbon and aluminum structure and benefits from carbon ceramic brakes.

Pretty awesome. But the thing is, the Akylone only exist in someone’s computer for now, and might never become reality, just like the other 100 Ferrari wannabes who came along rapidly and went away just as quick.

The American company announced its plans to built a liquid natural gas-powered supercar called the Prodigy.

The project seems all too ambitious. They say the Prodigy will have Rolls Royce-rivaling luxury, Bugatti-beating performance and a staggering price of $1,000,000.

The car will be powered by a custom-built LNG 7-liter Chevy V8 with targeted horsepower figure of 1,600. Just as bold is the top speed figure, which is going to be 300 mph. They might very well be able to build such monster, but the thing is, if it was this easy making 300mph cars big manufacturers hd already made plenty of them! At the very least, it’ll be extremely hard for a small car maker like Maxximus to make a car that fast, and guarantee it won’t fall to pieces when you reach that speed.

Still, it’s something to look forward to. You know, unless it turns out to be like the Dagger GT: just a dream!

Remember TranStar Dagger GT? Of course you do! The world’s most ambitious car maker has updated Dagger’s specs on its website, now promising a 2700 hp version capable of achieving 315 mph or 500 km/h.

We are not saying they are liars, but we haven’t seen the 2500 hp version they’d promised yet. Neither have we seen the first 2000 hp version. So we have a sneaking suspicion it is another wishlist!

We really do hope TranStar get around making the Dagger with the same spec they claim they can – a proper hyper car not a dragster – because then they would show all the big car makers, McLaren, Bugatti, Ferrari,… how pathetic they are struggling to make a 1000-hp car. We just wish we could believe them.

Shelby Supercars is quite busy these days. After coming up with a terrible name for their new supercar, the Tuatara, they went to China to announce SSC Asia, their distributor in the old continent.

Apart from the stupid name, the Tuatara is a fabulous car. The car is yet to prove it’s faster than the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport, but styling-wise, we think it’s even fancier than the Bugga! SSC should thank former Ferrari designer Jason Castriota for this. He managed to turn the ugly Ultimate Aero into this magnificent machine.

Can’t wait for a head to head battle between this and the Bugatti.

“Announcing our products here in Shanghai for the Asia region is yet another one of those dreams realized for SSC,” said Jerod Shelby, Founder and CEO of Shelby SuperCars.

“We’ve received overwhelmingly positive reception here in China on the brand and the car. It’s very exciting,” stated Don Xu, President of SSC Asia.

Jason Castriota, designer of Ferrari’s P4/5 Pininfarina, Maserati’s Birdcage and most recently the SSC Tuatara, attended the event and answered media questions alongside Jerod Shelby, SSC Asia President Don Xu, and SSC Asia Co?Founder Jason He. Mr. He was the official Emcee of the event, while Mr. Xu announced SSC’s newest partnership and unveiled the Tuatara.

“We will witness a masterpiece. It’s faster, safer, and more luxurious, bringing more driving pleasure,” said Mr. He.

So the EcoVelocity show, from September 8-11^th at the Battersea Power Station, is not going to be boring after all, thanks to a lineup of green supercars.

And the one we are eagerly waiting to see is the Delta Motorsport E-4 Coupe, the British rival for the Tesla Roadster. This electric sportscar has a driving range of 200 miles, does 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds, and has a top speed of 150 mph.

Besides that, other fine cars on display include: The superfast Evelio, which can do 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds; The Lightning GT which produces 700 HP; The Nemisis Electric Sports Car, built entirely in the UK and the Westfield Sport E, which can reach 100kph in just 7 seconds.

Giles Brown, EcoVelocity Event Director, said: “The addition of the green supercar paddock might well be a little bit unexpected for some visitors and will definitely grab a lot of attention, but that is the whole point, changing perceptions. “We are here to educate people about eco friendly motoring which is evolving all the time.”

Arrinera, the Polish Lamborghini wannabe is finally ready to hit the road hard. Design-wise the car isn’t just as exquisite as an Italian supercar, but it’s got presence, and the most important feature of them all, scissor doors. It also has a delicious recipe: carbon fiber body and chassis, a supercharged V8 from Corvette ZR1 with 640 hp, and leather-wrapped interior. The car looks and feels gutsy and brave, just like its makers who put their money on it! We wish them best of luck.

Aznom and Spadavetturesport revealed new pictures and details of the weird but very interesting Spada Codatronca Monza Roadster.

The one off Spada Codatronca Monza is based on the line of the 2008 Codatronca coupe, but it’s odd looks set it apart and gives it a unique character. It’s not pretty by any means, but it does have some charm. Even the interior is angular and… weird!

The a tubular chassis made of aluminium that was coated with a light carbon fiber and composite materials body. The engine was developed by Italtecnica starting from a V8 7 liter engine hardly modified. Now we can find 2 rotrex centrifugal superchargers that deliver the incredible power of 720 CV with over 90 kgm of torque. The car is able to reach the 100 km/h speed in only 3 seconds (in first gear) thanks to the 6 speed transmission with a very short gear ratio, and to reach the impressive top speed of 335 km/h.

They can make you the roadster upon request, at an undisclosed price.
