Kicherer was the first tuner to announce its program for the new E-Class, but for the new SL they are a bit late! No matter, because what they’ve  come up with is a seriously cool car. Everything has been blacked out on this Merc SL, grilles, meshes, wheels, even the indicators!

Kicherer  exterior package for your SL 63 is not that extensive but makes it stand out in public. And this whole black theme is much better than the car’s original chrome bling bling parts. It now looks as sporty as it is! Specially with that huge rear diffuser which is the biggest I’ve ever seen!

The original SL63 AMG powered by a 6.2 liter V8 packs a lot of punch in form of 525 hp and 630 nm of torque. Nevertheless, Kicherer tweaks it a bit and gives you 560 hp and 670 nm of torque. Best of  all, they remove the limiter so you can way pass the 250 km/h!

They’ve also re-tuned the very advanced ABC suspension and dropped the car for some inches so it looks better when 20 inch black wheels go under it! They are covered with very fat tires, 255/30 front and 305/25 rear. Like every other tuner these days, Kicherer too has a big obsession for carbon fiber, so you’ll find plenty of that inside of the car on the steering wheel and consoles.

Jaguar has literally made the best of both worlds! The new diesel powered XF offers good power, an enormous amount of torque, extremely good fuel efficiency and as a result of that, less pollution.

The 3.0 liter V6 diesel, as the top pf the range engine develops 275 hp and 600 nm of torque! To get a picture of how big that is check this out : a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 with 5.0 liter V10 engine has only 540 nm! So the car has no shortage in terms of performance and dynamics. It owes its strength to its tweaked common-rail technology and two Garret turochargers which have variable geometry. It uses a ZF made six-speed gearbox through its fancy circular nob.

But it’s a diesel afterall, so is it jerky and noisy and ,in brief, horrible? Well if you are familiar with the V6 diesel in the current Jaguar XJ, which this new engine is based upon that, you know that it’s one of the smoothest and nicest diesel engines ever built! So no worries in that sense either.

And we haven’t got to the best point yet! The fuel economy. We all know that diesel cars are not heavy with fuel naturally because they have good torque power so they go well with less throttle load, but this Jag has took it to the next level. It burns only 6.8 liters per 100 kilometers, and it’s pretty damn good! The petrol-powered equivalents easily double that number. The car also covers all European standards for air pollution some of which are mandatory from 2011 (Euro 5).

So, it’s not only Germans who make good diesel cars, Brits can do it well, too. And as far as we see, they’ve beaten Germans by miles! This is currently the only desirable diesel car! They also make a cheaper version with 245 hp and 500nm of torque. Jaguar XF diesel will come in April.

Audi has launched the new A6 range to middle east market in Qatar including the new RS6 super saloon. 2009 RS6 is slightly revised in terms of design and is powered by a Lamborghini derived twin-turbocharged direct injection version of the S6’s 5.2 liter V10 with 580 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. With this sot of power the lofty RS6 is capable of 0-60 in 4.5 seconds but top speed is limited to 155mph(250kph). The RS6 will be available with optional ceramic disc brakes, as well as 20 inch wheels (19″ standard). Quattro permanent four-wheel-drive and a six-speed tiptronic gearbox are standard. The RS6 package will also include Audi’s Dynamic Ride Control, which allows the driver to toggle through sport, dynamic and comfort modes.The RS6 is priced $122,500 while there are other A6 variants with different power plants including 170 bhp 2.0T engine, a 220 bhp 2.8 and a 290 bhp 3.0T and start at. $43,200.

Abarth, Fiat’s in-house tuning arm which is famous for its crazy works has now come up with a brilliant idea, a small efficient two-seater in the Smart Roadster category. Abarth company has been down for some years, but they revived and came up with some of the finest Fiats ever! Specially the 500 Abarth which becomes the king of small hot hatches. And now based on that car, the Abarth Coupe promises performance and efficiency like nothing else.

The Coupe will be a front will drive car and shares many things with 500 to keep the costs low. Also powerplants come straight form that car. Accorfing to AutoExpress first candidate would be the engine that powers 500 Abarth with 135bhp and 180Nm of torque, and a hotter version would receive the esseesse’s engine. Esseesse is another variant of Fiat 500 with a 158bhp engine which delivers great MPG of 45. The coupe weighs a bit more than 1000 kilo and features an aluminium chasis and Fiat’s Torque Transfer Control which acts like a limited slip dif for the front wheels to ensure proper handling. Prices starts from £12,000 and it would arrive in 2010.

BMW announced plans to put the extreme version of 1-series called 135i supersports also known as Tii into production. The car has all the features to revive the glorious age of 2oo2 models which when it came almost 40 years ago became the undisputed king of compact sports cars and started a class of its own. Like that car, Tii has a lot of stamina in form of a turbocharged inline-six engine developing 326-horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. That is a lot of power in a car with size of a shoe! Combine that with BMW’s classic rear wheel drive handling, and the result is tremendous driving joy. Of course if you can live with its ugly look!

The production version however will reportedly get a smaller engine, 4 cylinder maybe, to keep the price low, which is a shame really. Because the only reason to tolerate this hideous looking car is power and handling, omit them and you left with… S#%@!

It didn’t take long for Porsche from announcing to actually producing its first ever diesel cars.  And the first one just just rolled out of the factory in Leipzig.  What a moment for Porsche! they’ve never been so happy, even when they made Carrera GT! Starting with the Cayenne, the company will almost certainly extend it to the upcoming Panamera as well. The engine in this ‘first’ is a V6 3.0 liter with 240hp and 550nm of torque. Fine, but seems a bit pointless…

You see, diesels are economy minded, specially when horse power figure is low you expect the fuel consumption to be very very low, but in this Porsche engine, while power is pitiful (240hp), fuel economy is nowhere near good as it self-burns more than 11 liter per 100km. Taking into account that it is company claimed number! So, why should one live with a nasty diesel engine, tolerate low power and suffer from bad fuel economy?! specially when it is an ugly car like Cayenne! and the worst part is the price, € 86,500! which is somewhere around $120,000. What the hell are they thinking?! How cocky they are!

As a part of range extending program, Jaguar added n all new turbo diesel V6 engine to the gorgeous XF range. This is actually a very fine diesel engine, AJ-V6D Gen III S 3.0L as they call it, checks out 271hp (202kW) and 443lb-ft (600Nm) of torque which is good for a 0-60 sprint of 5.9 seconds and limited top of 155mph (250kph). But the best thing about it is the efficiency, as Jaguar claims 34.5mpg (6.8L/100km) and an emissions rating of 179g of CO2/km. Astonishing for a big sport saloon.

The Diesel S engine features an enhanced common rail system with new parallel sequential turbochargers,  and is linked to XF’s automatic 6 speed box, which results in producing a big chunk of torque at very low rpm, as you see in the diagrams in the gallery below. XF Diesel S also comes with special trims inside, distinctive boot spoiler and new 20″ alloy wheels. A Portfolio special edition will follow next year.

Edo Competition tuning firm always picks serious cars to modify and they always do a great job. This time though, while the car is fine and they did a good job of bumping the power to 700 hp and 710 Nm torque, but visuals just did not work as well. Apparently it is a joint project with the designer Christian Audigier, who has ruined the car by painting some skulls on it. Mercifully they only will make 5 of this car!

It is of course a nice artistic thing, but what kind of cock might want his Murcielago with these sort of paint job! There are more skulls inside too! Anyhow, the design totally sucks. So let’s get into mechanics where Edo has converted the all-wheel-drive Lambo into a rear-wheel-drive. Have no idea why, but this is what they’ve done, maybe they think the Murcielago with added power would handle too well, so they shaved some grip by loosing a differential ! the car is capable of 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and hit the max speed of 224 mph (360 kmh). It costs a whopping EUR 495,000!

Amongst the Porsche tuners, 9ff is simply the greatest, not because they do a quality job or they are very good with customer care, but because they are the craziest! They are just a bunch of lunatics working there and they go mental with every single project. As their latest creation, they bumped up a pitiful 911 to a DraXster with 1300 horsepower and 1190 Nm torque weighing at 1168 Kilogram. The results is … 0-260 kph in 9.5 seconds :O I have no idea what they’ve done to the engine and other parts to tolerate such figures, but this being 9ff, you can believe them 100 percent. Apparently the magic caused by a pair of turbos, 9ff turbos of course!, bolted to their 4.0liter engine. And as its name suggests, its goal is to rip off almost everything down at the drag strip!

Another contender in 1000+ horsepower club came out this time form Denmark. They took a V8 and went mental with it! they bolted a super AND a turocharger to it at the same time and the result is an impressive 1104 hp and 1430nm of torque.

Linked to a 6 speed manual box the car can do 0-60 in 3 seconds and top speed is currently limited to 233 mph, so its more koenigsegg territory than Veyron. It fell to the same trap that Shelby Super Cars fell with ultimate Aero, they gave it a 1200ho and they managed to go faster than Veyron ( Aero did 435 kmh) but that is totally pointless. Because look at it :

This is the most hideous looking supercar ever! This car and the Zenvo ST1 are in the par with Gumpert Apollo, they just wanna go fast. While Veyron, not only blows your mind up with performance, it is a luxury good as well. The main thing with Veyron is not the speed, but is the image. That’s why it worth every cent of its million dollar price tag. And Veryon can do that for years but this Aero thing surely will go down after 2 or 3 laps!

Zenvo , of course is a nice looking car. It’ll make an ordinary spectator go woooooooow, but from a pro point of view, it is elementary design. The striking and edgy lines are all there to get your attention but there is no art or passion or essence in it. Mercedes Benz will put its latest concept car on show at the upcoming North American International Auto Show. Mercedes concepts have always been the pinnacle of technology and always brought up something new that lately played a major role in the production units.

BlueZero will come in three different types, E-Cell, F-Cell and E-Cell Plus. E-cell is an all electric vehicle developed by mercedes research center in their quest to build an emission free production car, and they are getting really close to the target.This electro motor is good for 100 kW and 320 Nm of torque and takes the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 11 seconds. It’s top speed is 150 km/h, but only can do a trip of 200 Km.

F-cell, as you can guess is powered by a fuel cell which Mercedes has a good experience of as they’ve been working on it for years. The first issue that comes to mind with this technology, is the lack of Hydrogen pumps to feed the car, but the bright side is good performance with absolutely no emission since the only thing that comes out of the exhausts is water. F-Cell will have a range of 400 km travel between the pumps.

Finally E-cell Plus is kind of hybrid as it is powered by a turbocharged gasoline engine from a Smart which  charges a battery that moves the car. This car has a range of 600 km.

Here it is, the Nismo S-tune version of upcoming Nissan 370Z.  Based on the Fair Lady (Japanese for 370Z!) Nismo has done a traditional job on this, exterior, interior and powertrain. But it looks like a strange sea creature!

Bodywise, it features new bumpers, flaps, skirts and spoilers, so it is unmistakable with an ordinary fair lady.  Interior but, apart from Nismo batches, there is only new floor mats and 4 new gear knobs to choose from. And for performance, it has a new exhaust system with WELDINA stainless steel muffler and Nismo S-tune brake package. 370Z S runs on 19″ Nismo LMZ5 aluminum wheels and rides on an upgraded S-tune suspension. No mention of numbers for the time being (hp, torque, price…) so why don’t you take a look at pictures below until news arrive!

Mitsubishi released its UK-only hot version of Lancer FQ400, as 400 stands for number of horsepowers it has. Mitsu says it is softer and easier to drive than the old FQ, yeah right!

It is powered by the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo engine, but they’ve fiddled with the ECU and also installed a new set of exhaust system so the power goes up way over its head! it develops 405hp and 400lb ft of torque.  The power is delivered by a manual transmission which unlike the old version doesn’t come with a racing clutch. nevertheless it goes from stand still to 60mph in around 3.5seconds! which is supercar territory.

The car features a new bodykit whit new vents and air intakes which gives it a more distinctive racing look than the normal ones. Lancer Evo X FQ400 is planned for 100 units and will be priced at around 50 grand.

GeigerCars, a German tuning firm that specializes in American cars, mostly Muscles, presented their latest work on 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Bumping up the power from 425 to 569hp.

Challenger, even in the most powerful variant has not enough guts to keep up with the fierce competition in this market where family sedans are coming with 500+ hp powerplants, Geiger noticed that and tried to solve it. Their makeover includes Kompressor kits and new stainless exhaust system, which are good for 569hp and 680nm of torque. Also there is a braking upgrade package with much bigger discs and an adjustable H&R suspension.

Audi unveiled its most powerful sedan to the GCC market within 2008 Sharjah Motor Show. It will be available to customers in the Middle East in January 2009 and is priced at Dhs 450,000 in UAE. RS6 is powered by a twin-turbo V10 developing 580 hp which makes it currently the most powerful production sedan in the market.

Chrysler is sinking gradually these days, and if  a good buyer doesn’t appear soon things can get really ugly for them, However there are some unique icons in the company that just cannot be taken for granted. The Jeep brand itself has a glorious history which alone worth more than all of Chrysler’s recent rubbish products, and as experts of business say it is the only valuable thing remained  in the big C, so an Arab-American company decided to take this out of the sea and give it a re-birth in form of J8. Yes it s almost entirely the same old Wrangler, but you don’t wanna mess with a good thing.  Jeep J8 comes with a new 4cylinder diesel engine with 158 hp and 295 lb-ft. torque. The unique structure of this thing, even while stands still, promises off-road capability like nothing else.

So, it feels good to hear that Economy Tsunami cannot take all of things we love away, There are still enough nice guys to come up with solutions. Solutions that big companies with all of their funds cannot arrive at. I just wonder, if a small company can re-launch a brand, why can’t Chrysler itself?! That brings us to conclusion that the constant downfall of company in recent years is exact result of managerial ignorance!

Porsche’s Range Rover Sport Rival, Cayenne GTS has been upgraded by sports cars tuner Edo Competition. As it is with Edo, the most attention is paid to performance where Cayenne’s V8 is now producing 450 HP and 530 Nm of torque, due to ECU remapping, performance air filter and new high-flow catalytic converters. This car can now do 270 Kph which is pretty good for a big lofty SUV. Edo keeps Cayenne GTS under control by new set of brakes and adjustable suspension, also offers an aerodynamic bodykit which gives the car a sportier look.

German Porsche specialist 9ff just got to the point by releasing a single photo of GT9R and mentioning its power output at 1120 hp and 1050 Nm of torque. This is actually an evolution of GT9 model which was capable of 987hp but this being 9ff, they always push out for more! The matter is how this car is gonna put this massive power to the ground, as Top Gear showed in previous season with GT9, it’ll spin the wheels for the first quarter mile before it really gets going!
