The latest VW Touareg is a handsome SUV and it looks especially fine in widebody kits. JE Design has come up with a new one for it.

The kit is pretty substantial, but looks familiar to those who’ve seen other JE’s works. It’s got a sport front grille, revised bumpers, chin spoiler, fog lights, side skirts, flared arches, rear diffuser and four big tailpipes.

Also part of the package are the 22-inch alloy wheels which are pretty simple in design, yet very elegant.The suspension is also lowered by 35mm and that gives the car a killer side view as seen in the picture above.

For the interior, JE offers plenty of Alcantara in the same color as the exterior. This too is a very nice touch.

As for the engines, they upgrade the 340 hp 4.2-litre TDI V8 engine to 410 hp and an enormous 900 Nm of torque. Thanks to that the big Touareg can now accelerate form 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 269 km/h.

As always, ABT tuning kits are quite busy. In Volkswagen’s Tiguan‘s case though, it’s a good thing.

You see the standard Tiguan has a very serious face. this ABT kit with a new grille, door strip attachments, side skirts, rear apron and new tailpipes, give it a more funky, or sporty if you will, look.

The car also gets big rims available from 18 to 20-inch size which play a major part in its improved styling.

ABT has put a bigger effort into tuning the Tiguan’s engines. You can have the 2.0-litre TDI engine with 170 HP (125 kW) and 195 HP (143 kW), the 2.0 liter TSI with 210 HP (154 kW) and 250 HP (184 kW), and the 1.4 TSI with 210 HP (154 kW).  All of these engines are about 40 percent more powerful than the standard versions.

Hofele Design can’t stop working on Volkswagen Touareg and came up with yet another package for it.

The latest kit based on the latest Touareg is called the Royal GT 470. Now that’s the most irrelevant name because VW means people’s car and it’s in no way royalty, and the Touareg is a full-size SUV not a GT!

Apart from the stupid name the rest of the car is alright. The front-end is dominated by a new grille and some add-on bits for the bumper with fog lamps in them! Hofele keeps boasting the extended wheel arches and thinks they give the car a more a more significant presence. Well, sort of. At the back the new apron offers a sporty diffuser and four-new tailpipes.Complementing the body kit is the new set of designer wheels available in size 20 to 22 inch.

The interior treatment is really nice and includes Hofele’s Bi-color Star-Light leather upholstery. You will also find that on door panels and armrests.

Hofele also fits the car with an electric suspension module that lowers it by 40mm. When you go past 80km/h the car’s standard height is restored to provide comfort. They have also tweaked the 3.0 TDI CR from 240 PS to 275 PS and the torque from 500 Nm to 580 Nm. It can now provide 229 km/h top speed and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.9 seconds.

In order to make the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid more interesting, JE Design has come up with a wide body kit and a bit more power for it.

With this new kit consisting of sports radiator grill, front spoiler, front and back wheel arch kit, rear apron insert, roof spoiler and rear hatch blend, the Touareg grows 4 centimeters in width. It also gets new more aggressive headlight and fog lamps. It’s not just the hybrid either, the kit fits both normal Touaregs and models with factory-fitted „Chrome & Style“ as well as „Terrain-Style“ kits.

One nice touch for the exterior design is the new range of exhaust tailpipes that you can choose from. They include round or trapezium shaped exhaust tips or double mufflers.

JE also fiddles with the hybrid powertrain of this car and manages to increase the output from standard 379 hp (279 kW) and 580 Nm to 440 hp (324 kW) and 630 Nm. They’ve just tweaked the 3.0-liter TSFI-engine and the accompanied electric motor remains intact.If your Touareg is powered by the 3.0-litre TDI, they offer an upgrade for that as well with 285 hp (210 kW) instead of 240 hp (177 kW).

JE Design’s kit also includes pneumatic electronic suspension lowering module that lowers the car by 35mm and 10×12 inch aluminium wheels available in three different finishes: shadow silver with a polished front surface, matte black with a matte silver front surface and matte graphite silver with polished rim.

Volkswagen is offering a nice R-Line styling package for the Touareg SUV in Germany. These are just a few extra bits hanging from your front and rear bumpers, but incredibly they make the Touareg much better looking that the standard!

The R-Line Touareg is best recognized with its front spoiler lip thingy at front and oval tailpipes as well as the diffuser at the back. Other less noticeable parts include a small roof spoiler, chrome detailing on the sides, and taller side skirts, not to mention R-Line badges.

The R-Line Touareg gets 20-inch wheels as well with sport chassis tuning for good measure.

As for the inside, you are greeted with steel door sills with logo, and then position yourself behind the multifuction leather-wrapped steering wheel. Then you notice the gear lever is also covered in leather and that will lead you to the aluminum pedals. For the upholstery you can opt for Nappa leather in two tone gray black and R-Line 12-way adjustable sport seats.

The R-Line treatment is available for all Touareg petrol and diesel models, except the hybrid.

Besides that simply awesome street-legal Race Touareg 3, Volkswagen revealed another concept car at Qatar Motor Show which frankly appeals to the Arabs mos of all! It is a normal Touareg SUV garnished in certain areas with 24-carat gold. That’s not right to be honest. I mean gold trims on a Rolls Royce , yes but on a VW?!

The bits on the outside that get wrapped up in pure 24-carat gold include the custom designed 22-inch wheels, roof rails, protective guard strips and window frames, mirror caps and parts of the air intake frame, “Touareg V8? signature and boot sill trim. Like the Race Touareg 3 Qatar, this SUV is also painted in “Magic Morning” body colour.

As for the interior, besides the various gold coated accents and switches, it features “Luna” trim colour with Alcantara roofliner shows this colour as does the Nappa leather of the seats, which is decorated with ornamental stitch detailing. Also the dashboard is trimmed in a natural brown leather; contrasting seams in “Magnolia” colour perfect the colour scheme. Natural brown with leather inserts in “Luna” adorn the floor mats. But the absolute highlight of the car remains Walnut Burr accents with genuine gold marquetry – also crafted into an ornamental pattern.

This car is literally priceless, but there are lots of filthy rich dudes in that region who are more than glad to write a six figure check for this baby!

We had told you a number of times that the first Qatar International Motor Show is going to be a great event, and here’s the proof! So far we had a couple of concept cars, a new Lamborghini and now this, the road going version of the Volkswagen Race Touareg 3 unveiled at the show.

Now if you have no idea what a Race Touareg is, it’s the car that won Rally Dakar this year, last year and the year before that! Apparenlty Volkswagen has plans to launch a road going version of that race car and introduce the world’s most capable SUV.Of course it’s just a concept for the time being.

The road legal Race Touareg is powered by the 228 kW / 310 PS turbodiesel engine. And it’s not like they’ve done much to convert it into a soft SUV. It’s still a pretty rugged and tough off roader. The vehicle now being shown in Qatar is a version of the Race Touareg 3 – an SUV that can sprint to 100 km/h in less than six seconds – that is legally approved for use on public roadways.

They have of course modified the wide body of the race car and fitted it with 18-inch wheels from BBS with a gold look instead of the the standard 16-inch wheels. The “Race Touareg” signature – also in a golden colour – stretches the entire length of the vehicle’s sides. In turn, it is perfectly coordinated with the exterior paint in “Magic Morning,” a white that has a slight gold shimmer to it.

The interior is redesigned to become more civilized, but it’s still pretty stripped out. The safety cage remains unmodified but it’s equipped with Recaro racing bucket seats. Designers created an interior in so-called “Stealth look” that is reminiscent of the aircraft of the same name. In tribute to the Dakar Rally, the Dakar victories are etched in the anodised aluminium of the centre console, right next to the “Race Touareg” signature.

Other trim elements are treated in Matt Carbon. Tuned to this is the roll cage in “Serpentino Grey Metallic.” Interior designers have upholstered the seat side supports and the door trim panels with Nubuk leather in “Black” and “Pure Grey,” while the centre seat panels are made from perforated Nappa leather in “Titan Black.” Additional accents include the two-tone seams and silver piping on the seat covers and safety-related items painted in “Tornado Red.” The only other ingredient that is needed is some time to explore the world on a “360 degree route” in this uncompromising car.

ABT released a preview of their refinement package for the new gen Volkswagen Touareg. And unlike other tuners who for no good reason tend to lower the SUVs and ruin their off-road capabilities, ABT seems to have jacked it up a bit further and used some huge 22-inch wheels which give it a very awesome look!

The tuner has also tweaked the design of the car by using a new front grille, a roof spoiler and four-tailpipes integrated into a new apron at the back. And that’s about it, they’ve stayed away from vulgar body kits, and that’s a very good thing.

It was sad when VW announced the new Touareg won’t get the V10 diesel or V8 petrol engines, but ABT has an upgrade package for the exiting powertrains, including 3.0 TDI V6 and 4.2 liter TDI V8 which offers more power without compromise on efficiency. Here’s the details:

Volkswagen is treating German customers of the 2011 Touareg with a new Exclusive trim level, offering better value for money than normal models by adding a number of extra features. To become the most luxurious SUV on the market, the Touareg Exclusive gets high-quality two-tone leather combination, 19-inch wheel rims and decorative elements in real wood.

You can order this trim with all of the engines in the range. Pricing for the Exclusive Touareg starts from 58,150 Euro, for the one equipped with the V6 TDI powertrain.

Exclusive VW Touareg Details:

In the Touareg Exclusive, high-quality seats in the two-tone leather combination “Nappa” are fitted as standard. The finely worked leather is available in the colour combinations Pepper Beige–Titan Black and Dark Burgundy–Titan Black. As well as being aesthetically appealing, the two-tone leather offers a special practical feature: it is so-called “cool leather”, which prevents the seats from becoming too hot in direct sunlight.

The leather seat system includes heated front seats with electric 12-way settings, electro-pneumatically adjustable backrest side bolsters and head restraints with longitudinal and height adjustment. Likewise inclusive are the leather door inserts, a black headliner and sill panel strips in stainless steel with exclusive lettering. Decorative elements made from real wood in “Olive Silk Gloss” round off the exclusive ambience of the interior.

The 19-inch “Salamanca” alloy wheels, painted in Sterling Silver, are fitted as standard. The “Girona” wheel has the same dimensions and is available to order at no extra cost. A further option is the extravagant 20-inch “Tarragona” wheel, which gives the Touareg a particularly individual flair. The exterior is characterised by the “Chrome & Style” package and roof rails in anodised silver.

The new edition of VW Touareg for 2011 has become much more sporty than before, but if that’s not enough for you then check out JE Design makeover package for the car. It can’t get much sportier than this! The body is styled with new sports radiator grill, front spoiler, front and back wheel arch kit, rear apron insert, roof spoiler and rear hatch blend, and different muffler tips round or trapezium shaped. The whole kit costs 4998 Euro.

Then there’s the engine, where JE Desing has tweaked the Touareg’s 4.2-liter TDI-engine with optimised engine management, so the power has gone up from 340 hp (250 kW) to 410 hp (302 kW). The torque is also increased 800 to 930 Newton metres. Therefore the acceleration of this more than two ton vehicle from 0-100 kph only takes 5.4 instead of 5.8 seconds and the top speed now no longer ends at 242 but at 269 kph instead. The engine kit is priced at 2999 Euro.

Another 1428 Euro will buy you the pneumatic electronic suspension lowering module that lowers the car by 35 mm. This feature make the 22-inch aluminium wheels to look even better inside the fenders. The wheels are available in four different finishes: shadow silver with a polished front surface, matte black with a matte silver front surface, graphite shiny silver with polished rim and matte graphite silver with polished rim. The wheel package which can also be ordered with custom paint costs 5190 Euro; single wheels are available for 690 Euro each.

If you want to order the completer upgrade package for 2011 Touareg  including assembly, paint and TÜV- registration then set aside 19,750 Euro.

This is the latest version of Volkswagen’s Dakar challenger, the Race Touareg 3, and it’s going to have a tough job defending its family’s legacy. You see it replaces the Race Touareg 2 which has won Dakar Rally in 2009 and 2010. Like its predecessor, it’s powered by a diesel engine which is much like the one you get in the road-going Touareg.  In fact if you have the necessary parts and knowledge, you can turn a normal Touareg into a racer, just like Richard Hammond did!

The Race Touareg 3 features a carbon fibre and Kevlar bodywork which is slightly different than before, due to some wind tunnel testings. The new body provides better improved cooling systems around the roof of the vehicle while minimising disruption to the airflow at high speeds. It also looks fresh thanks to the new LED lights, a new grille, window line, rear clamshell and wheels

The car’s twin-turbocharged 2.5-litre TDI engine has also been optimised. It makes 300 PS and 442 lbs ft of torque and is adopted to cope with the severe altitude changes incurred on the Dakar with the vehicle climbing to heights of over 15,000 feet above sea level. New revisions also mean that it’s lighter on fuel.

The 2.5-litre engine channels its drive through three limited slip differentials via a newly upgraded five-speed sequential gearbox and a ZF-Sachs three-plate ceramic clutch. The result is the ability to accelerate to 62 mph in 6.1 seconds before reaching a top speed of 117 mph in nearly any conditions.

Race Touareg 3 is based on a high-strength steel spaceframe chassis with a pair of springs and damper units fitted to every corner in order to protect the vehicle against severe impacts. The car also benefits from specially developed BF Goodrich 235/85 R16 tyres.

Volkswagen has announced the official pricing of the new-look Touareg SUV as it goes on sale in the British market. Like its sister Porsche Cayenne, the 2011 VW Touareg features a new sleeker design and a new range of powertrains highly optimized for fuel efficiency, which also includes a hybrid variant.

You can have the new Touareg with a V6 diesel, or a V8 diesel or a V6 petrol-Hybrid. The base model powered by 3.0-litre V6 TDI and 240 PS is very economical returning 38.2 mpg while emitting 195 g/km of CO2. But if you opt for the hybrid model, which comes with a 3.0-litre V6 TSI petrol engine developing 333 PS and an electric motor generating 47 PS resulting in a total output of 380 PS and 428 lbs ft of torque, you get slightly less mileage at 34 mpg but much better performance.

And if you just want something in between, go for the V8 TDI which has 340 PS and 590 lbs ft of torque, and does 31 mpg. All new Touareg models have a new eight-speed tiptronic automatic gearbox.

The car comes with four trim levels – SE, Altitude, Escape and Hybrid – with a long list of features, but standard equipments on all models include leather trim, touchscreen satellite navigation with DAB radio, six airbags, burr walnut interior trim, 2Zone climate control and 4MOTION four wheel drive system.

2011 VW Touareg MSRP:

The new VW Touareg Facelift is a little bit sportier than the outgoing model but if it’s still not enough for you, maybe JE Design’s new wide-body package convince you to buy it! This kit is currently under construction, but when it features a new front spoiler and new grille, flared arches, a roof spoiler and a modified rear apron.

At the back, there is a new tailgate attachment which makes the car look more sporty and less like a tall van. You can have it wither with the car’s standard exhaust pipes, or the tuner’s special quad tailpipes.

The last part of JE Design kit is the new set of22-inch wheels, which come with optional wheel spacers (front 60 mm, rear 80mm) for perfect fitment inside the flared arches.

Following the official unveiling of the new generation VW Toureag, the company has released new videos of their full size SUV showing it inside and out, and playing off the road! With its new design, upgraded interior, and new powertrains including a hybrid model, the new Touareg hopes for better sales than before. Specially now that it’s more focused car and not just a cheaper alternative for Porsche Cayenne.

The new model of Volkswagen Touareg is now revealed in full featuring a new design, a new hybrid variant and upgrade equipments. The car has been completely redeveloped as VW says and is now longer, more dynamic and more efficient as the old model. For the sake of being efficient, VW dropped the V8 and W12 petrol and the V10 diesel from the options list, but instead offers a hybrid powertrain which is powerful, but not powerful enough!

But being green is apparently a very important goal for VW as they have also reworked the whole body of the Touareg and shaved off 208 kilograms of its weight! They have also tweaked the four-wheel-drive system for more efficiency. In the base version (“4Motion”), all new generation Touaregs have all-wheel drive with Torsen limited-slip differential (4MOTION; climbing ability: 31 degrees). Like the Tiguan Track & Field, the Touareg also has an “Off-road driving programme”, which – at the press of a button – tunes the ABS, EDS and ASR for off-road duty, activates Hill Descent Assist and adjusts the automatic gearshift points.

2011 Touareg Hybrid comes with a 333 hp V6 TSI petrol engine with a 47 hp electric motor. They deliver a combined power of 380 hp 580 Nm of torque, which can take the car form zero to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 240 km/h, while averaging 8.2 L/100 km (about 30 mpg). In pure electric mode, it can reach a top speed of 50 km/h.

There is also a variant of the car with the V6 petrol engine alone, which averges 9.9 liters per 100 Km.

The car also comes with two V6 and V8 TDI engines. The V6 has 240 hp and 550 Nm of torque and returns 7.4 l/100 km, while the 4.2 liter V8 delivers 340 hp and 800 Nm of torque with 9.1 L/100 km fuel consumption.

The interior of the Touareg is also refined with high quality materials and has a sense of absolute luxury. You get leather upholstery (“Cricket” pattern) with comfort seats, including electric 12-way seat adjustment in front, pedal caps in stainless steel look, footwell illumination, multi-function display with large colour display, storage compartments under the front seats, decorative inserts in the fine wood “Walnut Root” and tread plates with stainless steel accents.

It is also equipped like a luxury car. Standard features here include a chrome pack (side window frames, lower cooling air inlet, load sill guard, tread plate, door sill trim and exhaust pipe ends), Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering lights, LED daytime running lights, Coming Home and Leaving Home lighting feature, self-dimming outside mirror on the driver’s side, electrically opening and closing cargo area tailgate as well as the “Keyless Access” locking and engine starting system.

Just like the previous year, nothing could stop those mighty TDI VW Tourages as they owned the podium with a a one-two-three finish: Sainz / Cruz in first place, Al-Attiyah / Gottschalk second and Miller / Pitchford third. These diesel-powered Touaregs might only have 300hp but the way they’re engineered to tackle the hellishly hard stages of Dakar rally is just so good and flawless that like the 2009 event, they left the competition in dust! Kudos to VW.

The giant 12-cylinder VW Touareg has been given a wide body treatment by tuner Hofele Design. Called the Royster GT 460, the word GT really suits it because well, it’s no more a SUV! It has ground clearance of a sportscar and is fitted with 22-inch wheels wrapped with high performance street tires. Now you have a 480 hp high-riding Grand Tourer!

The Royster also features a nice body kit with revised bumpers that has daytime running LED lights at front and new tailpipes along with a new diffuser at the back, as well as new side skirts which by the way make the car closer to the ground!

Apart from the massively flared wheel arches, this wide body Touareg also has new rocker panels and a power dome on the hood, all reflecting on the great amount of power in its heart. It sports 9Jx20 wheels at front and 10Jx22 at the rear.

VW and Porsche are preparing the next generation of their very similar full size SUVs, the Touareg and the Cayenne. Both cars will get a new look which will be much leaner and curvy than the current model’s box shape styling, and both car will hit the markets in 2011. Some say the new Touareg will be as much as 300KG lighter than the outgoing model and will have better off road capabilities as well. VW will also offer Touareg with the third row of seats as a seven seater car. As for the engines, 2011 Touareg will get the fully enhanced  3.6 liter V6 and 4.2 liter V8, with the V10 diesel coming later on. It’ll also get the same hybrid power train as the Porsche Cayenne hybrid which consists of a supercharged 3.0 liter V6 and an electric motor.
