While BMW is reluctant to make a M-powered version of the Z4 roadster, they happily squeeze the M3’s V8 engine under its bonnet to make a GT3 racing model, because then they can sell it to private teams for 298,000 Euros! So it comes with a 4.0 liter high-revving V8 which is tweaked for racing and comes with an ECU 408 and Power400 control unit, whatever that is! You just need to know it has 480 hp.
Also to cope with the GT-racing regulations, it is fitted with a six-speed sequential gearbox, racing wheels with locking and safety clips, as well as racing ABS. Since this car will be bought by rich private teams, they also offer an optional air condition system so the gentleman driver behind the wheel stays cool during the race!
Apart from everything, this car thanks to Z4’s classic design and that massive racing bodykit, is going to be one of the best-looking cars on the grid in races that it’s qualified for, including FIA GT3 European Championship, International GT Open and the ADAC GT Masters – as well as in 24-hour endurance races.
