Chevrolet Cruze Coupe – Report

Chevrolet Cruze at Chevrolet Cruze Coupe Report

As it’s the case with most of the successful models, they expand and get different variants. The Chevy Cruze born as a sedan, then it got a hatchback, and now a coupe version is in the works.

This makes total sense for GM to invest in making a 2-door variant of the ultra successful sedan. That’s what Kia Motors has done, with great success, to the Cerato (Forte). That car too has both coupe and hatchback versions. The Cruze Coupe has not yet been confirmed officially, but some high ranking GM officials have given hints that a 2-door variant might show up.

Making a successful coupe base don the Cruze is not going to be easy. They can’t just make the sedan with two doors and put it on sale. If they want it to successful, they have to follow the same recipe Kia did with the Forte Koup. It is based on the sedan underneath, but it has an aggressive and sporty body on the top that shares almost nothing with its four-door brother. The looks of the sedan is too boring for a coupe! They need to totally revamp it.

Chevrolet Cruze Coupe would get the same range of engines as the sedan, but it’ll be priced 10 or 20 percent higher.
