2013 Jaguar XJ Gets New Supercharged V6

2013 Jaguar XJ at 2013 Jaguar XJ Gets New Supercharged V6

The all-new Supercharged V6 petrol engine Jaguar has developed for the new F-Type sports car debuts in the 2013my Jaguar XJ. That is great news. The bad news is the XJ loses its 5.0 liter V8. So from now on you have the choice of this V6, a diesel V6 with 270 hp, or the full-fat 510 hp Supercharged V8. The normal V8 apparently was not popular with the customers, so Jaguar just ditched it.

This new V6 is one helluva engine. A 3.0 liter unit boosted with a sophisticated supercharger that produces 340PS and 450Nm of torque. It comes with an eight-speed ZF transmission with Intelligent Stop-Start as standard. Jaguar says this new XJ is expected to do an incredible 47 mpg, an astonishing record for such a big, heavy car.

Other upgrades made to the 2013 XJ include improved suspension refinement and performance, with re-calibrated spring and damper tunes as well as remapped damper software. The magnificent interior is enhanced as well, with a 20-speaker 825W Meridian sound system.
