Mercedes AMG GT Black Series Scooped?

A photographer recently had the opportunity to spend some time at the Nurburgring, where he captured a never seen before Mercedes AMG GT test mule in action. On the surface this car looks like a normal GT, but if you look closer, you notice there are some subtle differences.

This AMG GT features a different bumper than what we’ve seen in the official prototype photos Mercedes has released. It features larger air intakes and a more pronounced splitter. What’s more, the car has carbon mirrors and a pretty sizable wing at the back.

Those of you who know your AMGs can tell that these are the telltale signs of a Black Series version:

So this prototype is most likely a Mercedes AMG GT Black Series. Merc’s officials have hinted at the possibility of different variants of the sports car in the future, but they haven’t set a date for when they will be launched. The Black Series probably won’t come out until at least 2016.

The normal Mercedes AMG GT will be launched at this year’s Paris Motor Show and go on sale early next year.
