Granted, Ferrari 488 GTB is not exactly hot news. But the car has just made its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show and Ferrari has released a bunch of new photos of it. Don’t tell me you need an excuse to look at fresh pictures of a new Ferrari!
Before you go check out the pictures though, let us quickly recap why Ferrari 488 GTB is kind of a big deal. For starters, the GTB is the replacement for the 458 Italia, one of the most important Prancing Horses of the 21st century. What’s more, it is thoroughly enhanced in almost every way, and it features a brand0new twin-turbo V8 engine. This is the car that has consigned the naturally-aspirated Ferrari V8s to history.
The new turbo engine in the Ferrari 488 GTB is smaller in capacity – 3.9 compared to 4.5 liters – but it is significantly more powerful – 670 horsepower compared to 600 in the Speciale. Side Slip Control System (SSC2) which, aside from just integrating with the car’s F1-Trac and E-Diff, now also controls the active dampers. These systems are so clever, even a novice driver can lap handle the GTB like Sebastian Vettel!
The GTB also features fresh looks with completely revised bumpers and lights, but most of this changes are form following function and for the sake of aerodynamics. They are a success too, as the car generates 325 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. But we are sure if the GTB is better looking than the Italia. In fact the opposite might be the case.
