This rather magnificent thing you see here is the Lada X-Ray concept, unveiled at the 2102 Moscow International Motor Show, showcasing the new design direction for the Russian firm. It’s a huge leap forward for Lada, and they have the British designer Steve Mattin to thank for it. The X-Ray is a crossover vehicle and for the time being it’s just a show car.

The X-Ray features an X shaped front grille, hence the name, which is said to be the new face of all future Lada products. It has a whiff of Lexus spindle grille about it, but it’s a nice design anyway, better than what the Russians could have come up with on their own.

Even more striking than the exterior is the interior of this car. The X-Ray has a full leather cabin with a fancy design and top-notch equipments such as an infotainment. Again, it does look a bit like the Kia Sportage in here, but you should cut Lada some slack. They are trying to make something nice here and that’s appreciable.

Lada has no plans to produce the X-Ray like this, but as mentioned its design features will be used for the upcoming models.
