While the rumors of a Geneva-bound Alfa Romeo 4C Spider are circulating the web, the Italian car maker released details of two cars they are bringing to the show. They are revised versions of the MiTo and Giulietta with new matte colors and mechanical upgrades.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV (Quadrifoglio Verde) is the more interesting of the two, as it gets the same 240 horsepower 1,750cc turbocharged four-cylinder engine that powers the new 4C sports car. Alfa didn’t mention this, but if the engine comes with the same exhaust system the 4C gets, it’ll be the best-sounding hot hatch ever.
The engine in the Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV is mated to an ‘Alfa TCT’ 6-speed twin dry clutch transmission with paddle shifters. It propels the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and gives it a top speed of 240 km/h.
Visually, the new Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde is distinguished by its special QV badges, carbon spoilers and mirror fairings, front and rear sports DAMs, side skirts and 18″ alloy wheels with five holes and glossy Antracite finish. Inside, new leather and Alcantara seats and steering wheel, complete with sport aluminum pedals boost the sporty feel of the car even further.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV with 4C’s powertrain launches with a limited production run of just 500 units.
