The Israeli-Chinese car maker Qoros always maintains that their cars are designed and built with European Standards in mind. Now they have something to prove their claim, a five-star safety rating from EuroNCAP, and scores that are among the best ever recorded by the institute.

In fact, the Qoros 3 Sedan scored the best result for Adult Occupant Protection in Euro NCAP’s 2013 programme so far thanks to extremely rigid passenger cell and a whole host of carefully designed crumple zones. The car also features front and side airbags, side head curtain airbags for the front and rear seats, three-point automatic seat belts on all seats and dual belt tensioners for front passengers.  In the event of a rear-end collision, the front seat headrests are designed to reduce the risk of whiplash injuries.

Then there is the numerous standard electronic safety features, including ABS (Antilock Braking System), ESP (Dynamic Stability Control / Electronic Stability Program), EBA (Electronic Brake Assist), Braking Control System , seat belt reminders for all occupants and a driver-set speed limiting device.

No wonder then the Qoros 3 Sedan managed such impressive scores (Adult Occupant: 95%; Child Occupant: 87%; Pedestrian: 77%; Safety Assistance Systems: 81%; Overall result: 88%). Now if only they can prove the car drives as well as its European rivals, and is just as refined, we all have to admit the Chinese have finally made a decent car.
