The launch of the new generation 2014 MINI is planned for the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show in November, and the company is currently busy creating some hype for it. A large part of that is done via commercials and print ads, which in true MINI style are quite funky and “tongue-in-cheek”.
This latest series of teaser pictures which preview a TV commercial, reflect the sheer Britishness of the new MINI by bringing in an English icon: a bulldog! Called Spike, this little guy will take us on a journey in which he gets to know and appreciate all the main strengths of the newest member of the British small car family. Then to boast the advantages of the MINI’s small size, they bring in a Great Dane.
Making this commercial has been an enormous feat for MINI. Apart from a full team of dog experts, they had a crew of 120 people. It is a full Hollywood shoot, compelte with various endings and broadcast in different lengths. The commercial was filmed at a Hollywood studio and in the streets of downtown Los Angeles. In addition to wranglers and supervisors, there was a vet and even a make-up artist to ensure the four-legged hero was always in good shape and perfectly presented.
As for the specs of the 2014 MINI itself, we have to wait until November 18 when the first official details will be released ahead of the car’s L.A. Autoshow debut.
