There are a handful of cars that all experts unanimously agree rule their respective segment. And Golf GTI has always been the king of the hot hatch class. Despite this, some argue that with 210 horsepower, the car is underpowered, especially when compared with hot hatches from Ford and Renault. For these guys BBM Motorsport has an offer they can’t refuse.
The tuner fiddles around with the 2.0 liter TSI engine in the Golf GTI and besides installing a new ECU software, fits a Supersprint exhaust system with 100 millimeters end pipes as well. The result of these modifications is a significant power gain, up to 300 horsepower and 440 Nm of max torque.
BBM Motorsport Golf GTI is also fitted with bigger brakes and sportier suspension to cope with the extra oomph. The brakes come from Stoptech and include 328 x 25 mm discs with four-piston fix calipers. The suspension meanwhile is a DDC coilovers system from KW, fully adjustable, capable of lowering the car between 20 to 55 mm. KW Variant 1 to 3 systems are also available.
The car also benefits form a set of BBS 19-inch CH-R wheels in titan gray, which along with the red wrapping by SFT Carwrap, are the only cosmetic upgrades.
