We’re not sure what happened exactly, but all of a sudden the world is once again full of amazing sports car that put driving fun above everything else. Honestly, these days if you want a car that puts a huge smile on your face every time you go out in it, you are spoiled for choice. To help you make a better decision, Autocar took three of the very best sports car currently on offer to the test track and put them through the wringer.

We have the newcomer Alfa Romeo 4C going head to head against its main rival in the price range, the Porsche Cayman. They also brought along a Toyota GT86, which is half the price of the other two, but offers twice the fun.

So, as a conclusion, we think if you have the money you should buy all three. If you are on a budget, go for the GT86, because this thing is just unbelievably good fun and makes you think why would anyone spend twice as much on the other two. That said, the most logical choice here is the Cayman, which is just perfect in every sense. But the Alfa Romeo 4C, as flawed and incomplete as it is, it has a certain something – I think you can call it charm, or heart, or soul – that the Toyota and the Porsche lack. We respect the other two, but we love the Alfa.
