iPhone’s Siri Starts A Car – Video

You are probably familiar with Siri, iPhone 4S’ personal assistant. The best thing about this feature is that it can be hacked to do some unusual things you don’t really expect it to do. A dude for example has hacked it so it can start his Acura!

It seems kinda roundabout really, because you have to load Siri, tell it to start your car, then wait for it to connect to a server, and then relay the information abck to the car and then to the remote control – here’s how the hacker explains it: “Command is sent from Siri to a Viper server, then relayed via cellular connection to the car. The car then broadcasts an update via RF to the key chain remote.”

Using the keys would be easier of course, but it shows the capabilities of the system and what can be achieved. And by the way, this guy has a weird iPhone case!
