Top Gear’s New Lead Host Is Prone to Car Sickness!

The new Top Gear is off to a shabby start filming the new series. Turns out the show’s lead presenter, the famous Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans, gets car sick when driven around a race track. That’s an issue, because it’s kind of like a surgeon getting sick at the sight of blood.

The new Top Gear crew is in America these days filming bits of their first season with Evans. One of these bits is evidently a review of the latest Audi R8 V10 and it includes a track test at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in which the other new presenter, the German Sabine Schmitz, puts the car through its paces with Evans in the passenger seat. And, well, that was when things went sort of wrong.

The crew had to stop filming when Chris Evans got a bit sick handling all the G Force Sabine forced upon him by cornering way too fast. The man was then photographed throwing up by the side of the track which is frankly a very poor spectacle for someone trusted with the job of making the world’s second-best motoring show (Clarkson, Hammond, and May’s new Amazon show will be the very best, obviously!).

If Evans can’t handle Schmitz’s precise driving style, how’s he going to fare drifting around the Top Gear track with Chris Harris?
