Although has denied many times any plans for making the C30 Polestar PCP, a high performance version of the innocent hatchback, some say the car is finally on its way.
Normally Volvo would not make such a hotted-up car. It wouldn’t fit their sensible image. But now turns out the Swedish car maker is considering a high-performance sub-division, just like AMG or M GmbH. So Polestar will finally become a part of Volvo family. They are also responsible for Volvo’s racing cars.
It’s not clear that the production version of the C30 Polestar PCP features all the great stuff the concept does, but since the sources say it’ll have a price of around £50,000, chances are it is just like the concept car with 400 hp and four-wheel-drive. Otherwise it’d be hard to justify such a big price for a hatchback Volvo. The production will also be very limited, something like 500 units.
The high performance division will also be responsible for other high performance model, a hot version of the S60 for example.
