There is something about the Nissan DeltaWing race car that make everybody just want to crash into it! After crashing out of Le Mans 24 Hours, DeltaWing team worked hard to prepare the car for the 15th annual Petit Le Mans event, in hope to at least finish the race. But they may not even manage to start it.Yep, it happened again.

The car was passing a GTC class Porsche when it was struck in the left rear wheel. DeltaWing believes it was more than just a crash. They say they wee assaulted by that Porsche. Looking at the footage of the incident, it was indeed pretty severe and the driver Gunnar Jeannette is lucky to be alive. If it weren’t for those roll hoops…

The massive impact was measured at 7Gs on the team’s telementary system. The Nissan DeltaWing was only 4/10ths of a second slower than the fastest P2 car in sixth place on the timesheet in this afternoon’s session, prior to the crash.

The high-spirited members of DeltaWing has already began repairing the car, which is actually clipped-out pretty good. We wish them the best of luck, and a chance to finish the race.
