As the new Maserati Quattroporte is getting ready to take the market by storm, the Italian car maker releases new pictures and a video of this beautiful super sedan. With the 2014 model Maserati has kept whatever was good in the old model, and changed what was not.
So you still get an amazing V8 powertrain, an awesome exhaust noise, and tons of interior space, but the dashboard is revised, you have less confusing buttons to learn, and the quality is improved.
The design of the QP is also changed, rather drastically. Some people say it looks like an Infiniti now, what with the new head and taillights, and they may have a point. But there is not denying the Quattroporte still has the swagger of a movie star.

There is also some controversy regarding its engine lineup. You do get a V8, yes, but it’s now turbocharged for efficiency, which means it doesn’t have the immediacy of the old naturally aspirated unit. But it’s built by Ferrari, it makes 530 horsepower, and gives you a top speed of 307 km/h. So that’s alright.
A new addition is a Chrysler-sourced V6 engine, also turbocharged, with 410 horsepower. There are quite a few Chrysler-sourced bits and bobs in this car, but again, in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter. The new Quattroporte is still a fabulous Italian super sedan, much nicer and much cooler than anything the Germans can offer in this segment.
