We all know how Tesla Model is capable of making mincemeat out of most super sedan out there, including the super sedan royalty that is the BMW M5. But what about a proper, purpose-built sports car like the new Corvette Stingray? Is this Volthead any match for the most cherished weapons in the Petrolhead’s arsenal?

It is important to stress that the Tesla Model S in this test was the range-topping P85 version which has the equivalent of 415 horsepower. The Corvette too is a top of the range Z51 version, boasting 455 horsepower. Both cars have automatic transmissions – well, the Tesla doesn’t have a transmission as such – and both are rear-whee-drive.
