One can’t help but think that the whole Le Mans thing for Nissan is just a publicity effort that they are trying to make the most of. Everyday we get tons of releases about their GT-R LM Nismo race car doing some pointless thing, and now they’ve come up with this 360° lap of Le Mans in a GT-R, which is admittedly quite cool to watch.
It seems Nissan cares about every aspect of the big race except the race itself. They probably know they stand no chance of winning the event, especially the LMP1 class in which the GT-R Nismo is face with some serious and a lot mightier competition. So they’re just having fun while trying to get some media attention.
The 360° video is best viewed in the YouTube App on iOS or Android, or Chrome on a computer:
This was filmed on a closed circuit at the end of a Le Mans test session. The GT-Rs were traveling at a speed-restricted rate, so the video has been sped up a little to match a fast GT-R lap, along with the HUD graphics to match.
