You know the Alfa Romeo Giulietta as a modern and sleek hatchback. But it is in fact a 60-year-old nameplate, first given to a sexy sports coupe, unveiled On April 19, 1954, at the 36th Turin Motor Show. To mark the 60th anniversary of this legendary badge, Alfa announced interesting finance options for Giulietta customers in the UK.

Usually such occasions are celebrated with a special edition or a one-off, but Alfa is too busy these days deciding what to do with the new Spider project they are developing with Mazda – a deal that is said to be falling apart – and preparing the ground for the launch of six new models over the next few years.

So for now you have make do with the existing versions of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. From April 7 to April 22, 2014, you can get a Giulietta 1.4 TB 120hp Progression with a £1,250 deposit. That is the exact price of the original Giulietta when it was launched in the UK in 1954. The deal also includes £510 worth of Lunar Pearl paint job thrown in for free.

The 2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta models benefit from a number of updates, including standard Uconnect touch-screen infotainment systems; new engines; redesigned seats; new seat fabrics and leather upholsteries; new colours and improved standard specification.
