Mcchip-DKR made a name for themselves as an expert chip tuner. They could, and still can, extract unbelievable amounts of power from every engine simply by changing a few lines of code in its brain. But they are now a full fledged tuner with immense capabilities. They have just finished converting a normal R8 into an Audi R8 GT3 LMS.

It was a humongous task, but the boys at Mcchip have pulled it off rather brilliantly, turning a run-of-the-mill R8 V10 into a superb track car that can still be used on the road if the owners wants it to. An insane number of modifications were required for this job to be done right, and DKR knocked each and every one of them out of the park.

Beginning with the bodywork, Audi R8 GT3 LMS conversion meant swapping most of the body panels with LMS replicas in carbon fiber, including custom front and rear bumper, and a host of aero parts such as front splitter and rear wing. They have also widened the fenders in true LMS style, making room for a set of fat wheels and tires. Above these wheels you find track-spec KW Competition 3 coilovers. The interior is also modified accordingly to make the car suitable for track work.

The best part of this project, in our opinion at least, is what Mcchip has done with the R8 V10’s engine. A large supercharger unit complete bespoke pulleys, high-end pistons, sport air filters and manifolds, an intercooler, and a Capristo exhaust system are among the main highlights of this engine which now produces over 850 horsepower!
