I know the words Skoda, diesel and green are not a particularly exciting combination, it’s quite dull actually, but it’s 21st century and efficiency is the thing that matters the most. And that’s where these new Skodas realy shine. These are the new Greenline II editions of the updated Fabia and Roomster models.
To further reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels, these cars are equipped a 1.2 TDI CR DPF Diesel engine developing 75 bhp which features Common Rail (high-pressure direct injection), start-stop technology, energy recuperation and gear recommendation (on a Maxi DOT display).
Therefore it is capable of delivering amazing fuel economy. In the Fabia this engine averages an astonishing 83.1 mpg and CO2 emissions of 89 g/km, while in the Roomster you have to live with 67.3 mpg and 109 g/km Co2.
Granted, these models are pathetically slow and you will be late for work every day, but at least you save a couple of quids in fuel and save the world, kind of!
