In spite of previous plans for Alfa Romeo to make a comeback to U.S. market in 2012, Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne believes they need another year to make things right.
Marchionne is apparently not satisfied with the design of the cars they are ought to offer in America – Alfa Romeo Giulia mid-sized sedan and wagon – and has asked the styling team in Turin to make revisions.
He does have a point actually, because if you look at the current range of Alfa cars they are all designed for European taste. And while we find them classy and prestigious and passionate, Americans have different parameters! Their idea of luxury still includes lots of bling bling, so Alfa’s artsy design might not work for them.
Alfa Romeo Giulia is now set for 2013 debut in America, but its production site is yet to be decided.
