MG’s new SUV/Crossover will be unveiled in concept form at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show. Called the Icon, this crossover vehicle will be launched first in the Chinese market in 2014. The design appears to be heavily inspired by Nissan Juke, but it also take cues from original MGB GT from 1960s. It does look like a jacked up GT, which is kinda funny.
Underneath, the concept uses the same underpinnings as Roewe 350 and MG 5. MG is, after all, a Chinese company owned by SAIC. The Icon concept features some fancy features such as rear-hinged back doors, or interior with four bucket seats. The car is expected to be powered by the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine SAIC puts in the MG 5 (and the MG550 in some markets). It develops 135bhp and 148lb ft.
