The Audi R8 GT Spyder is quite a rare piece of kit. They’ve only made 333 units of it, and they all must be gone now. Three of those cars however ended up in possession of the German tuner Wheelsandmore, and they have plans for them. Here’s an example of how they think the Spyder should be improved. It gets lighter, more powerful, and overall cooler.
Beginning with the engine, WAM fits the 5.2 liter V10 with a carbon airbox and a remapped ECU, as well as a bespoke, hand-made exhaust system that is 40 percent lighter than the stock unit. As a result the output goes up from the standard 560 horsepower to a healthy 620 horsepower. You also get 590 Nm of torque which is about 50 more than the standard.
Visually the car remains pretty much intact, save the new set of wheels and the lowered suspension. The suspension has been uprated using KW components with a lift system for the front, and the wheels are WAM’s own 20-inch 6Sportz2 models.
