Alfa Romeo will eventually expand its range, which currently includes only two cars, with the new 4C coupe and a new sedan. But until they do that, all we get from this magnificent Italian car maker is different special editions of the Giulietta or the MiTo. Here’s a new MiTo special edition for the 2012 Paris Motor Show, called the SBK.
SBK refers to the word Superbike, and there’s a clue. This version of MiTo celebrates the company’s involvement in the Superbike Championship series since 2007. The car is also styled accordingly.
Alfa Romeo MiTo SBK features a two-tone exterior paint job with three available shades for the roof including black, Alfa red and cristallo white, 18-inch titanium wheels, and red of the Brembo brake calipers. This theme continues inside where you get Sabelt seats with carbon back and Alcantara center, and red stitching, as well as leather-wrapped gear lever and steering wheel.
The SBK is based on the Quadrifoglio Verde trim level and comes with stuff like dual zone climate control system, Blue&Me connectivity system, cruise control, and aluminum pedals. Engine-wise, you get the 1.4 liter MultiAir turbo four-cylinder unit with 170 horsepower. It does 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds while averaging 4.8 liter per 100 km.
Alfa Romeo MiTo SBK is limited to 200 units. Each car carries a unique numbered plaque.
